Doesn't have daily updates, which is important for healthcare IT
I face challenges with the exclusion policy - it still scans folders we told it not to, causing issues. When we contact support, they tell us to update the latest agent, but we can't do that immediately due to medical device protocols and validation testing. I wish support would try to understand our issues better instead of giving this standard response. The machine learning feature they use often tells us to upgrade the agent or add things to the exclusion list, which isn't unacceptable. It's a very good and new technology as a tool and antivirus. But sometimes, it doesn't work properly with our medical devices and products, quarantining files it shouldn't even after we add them to exclusions. This is tricky for us.

The solution provides endpoint detection and response with a nice-looking dashboard
The solution is easily scalable because it's in the cloud and we can push the agents using our Cafea solution. We can even deploy the applications to our remote branches easily. We currently have four people using the solution and if the number of computers increases we can scale up by increasing the number of licenses.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It secures different entry points into the network."
"CylancePROTECT is very stable - we've had no issues with performance and no errors or bugs."
"The non-daily requirement to update signatures is the most valuable feature. From a functional point of view, it is pretty spot on. For instance, we compared an algorithm from five years ago to today's algorithm, and it was 98% accurate. It has the ability to detect and mitigate. In the industrial environment that we work in, there's what we call OT versus IT. You are IT Central, but this is OT. Generally, we don't have the same level of skillset as IT individuals or IT professionals have. This particular product doesn't require you to be a computer scientist to be able to understand its proprietary algorithm and to be able to deploy, use, and work within it. It integrates well with a robust SIEM or SOAR solution, and it plays nice with others. We use other detection solutions like CyberX or site provision with Cisco, and it plays nice. That's one of the things we really liked about it."
"In most cases, the solution's ability to detect in the MITRE framework, and its ability to be able to detect attacks in any one of seven or eight different areas of the life cycle of an attack is very useful."
"The solution’s AI is its most valuable feature."
"Centralized dashboard online which can be used for managing a huge product."
"A user can continue to add endpoints and the solution will continue to perform well."
"The deployment of updates is easy."
"The solution efficiently protects the servers for our customers."
"With the reseller management, I can manage multiple clients without having to log in to each client."
"The AI and EDR features are the most effective for threat detection and security."
"The solution is useful for security purposes."
"With Sophos, the scanning of viruses and scanning of the disk is done silently in the background."
"It's easy to deploy."
"It's very light on the endpoints."
"The central management console is valuable, as it consolidates everything into one place, allowing users to access logs and events without visiting multiple websites or consoles."

Cons

"They could improve on the false positives, reporting and whitelisting features."
"The solution should implement AI in the product."
"While you are working, you are finding these things that were supposed to be waived have come back to being blocked. That's frustrating."
"The security scripting needs improvement. It needs deeper security for scripting."
"It is hard to manage."
"It needs real analysis of quarantined files. The EDR product isn't showing much right now."
"I'd like them to do software distribution too, but they said that that's architecturally not at the product line."
"The OPTICS component could be made more user-friendly with respect to giving people more information."
"The solution could be more stable."
"There has been an increase of about 7-10% in recent months. That's why we face issues with customers who have been using it since 2017."
"Sophos EPP Suite's support services need improvement."
"If you are not an IT expert, the solution is difficult to use."
"I would like to have the capability to support legacy operating systems because the majority now don't support Windows XP, and Windows 2000."
"Sophos EPP Suite could improve by decreasing the number of resources it uses. There are other solutions that use one-fifth of the resources."
"The encryption features are not as good as McAfee's."
"The solution has a strange technical support process where you need to move through all of these tiers before you can get to someone who can help you. They should streamline the process and make it easier to speak to the correct level of support from the outset."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This cost of the license is approximately $5 USD monthly per user."
"We pay our license on a yearly basis and have just renewed for two years."
"I think that the price we are paying is good for what it is."
"The initial end-point cost may seem a little high (~$55/device/year) but when you look at the total peace of mind that the solution provides, with no reboots for updates, and negligible performance impact, it is well worth it."
"The tool is not that expensive."
"Currently, we have competitive pricing for Cylance, which is affordable enough to consider."
"The license price for this solution could be better. It's on the expensive side."
"The solution provides me with competitive pricing."
"The solution's cost is reasonable."
"Pricing could always be lower. It costs around $120 per seat per year."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The solution for an enterprise license costs around 13 million Philippine pesos."
"I rate the price of Sophos EPP Suite a four out of five."
"I would rate the price seven out of ten, for its cost-effectiveness."
"Price-wise, it is cheap. We need to pay 1,500 to 2,000 INR per user...On a scale of one to ten, where one is very cheap, and ten is very expensive, I rate the pricing a three out of ten."
"The license cost for Sophos EPP Suite depends on the features you want to use. For example, if you want to use advanced features, such as web application firewalling, the cost may be higher. In general, I believe the licensing cost is reasonable."
