Easy to set up with good behavior-based analysis but needs a single-click recovery option
Most organizations are currently looking for a scheduled scan to meet their compliance needs. Other players like Symantec and Trend Micro, FireEye, et cetera, are still providing the signature-based regular scheduled scans also, which is not available in CrowdStrike. That is one parameter that we feel should be there in CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike is only working on the dynamic or the files under execution. CrowdStrike is not scanning the static files. The product could be more accurate in terms of performance. We'd like to have a single-click recovery option. With some machines getting corrupted by malware, we need an easy way to start with a blank slate if things happen. That one feature should be there in the EDR.

Easy to use
CylanceOPTICS is easy to use.  The product's technical support is slow.  I have been using the product for three years.  CylanceOPTICS is easy to use.  I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like the detection rates of mobile threats."
"The most valuable aspects of CrowdStrike Falcon for me are its device observability, identification, and software and OS recognition."
"The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon is crowdsourcing intelligence."
"The automatic alert feature is the most important feature of the solution."
"The solution's reporting console is phenomenal, and I can get a lot of data out of it."
"This solution consistently releases improvements. They have communicated their next two years of development which is powerful and covers all of our needs."
"The most valuable features of CrowdStrike Falcon include Falcon Fusion workflows and endpoint detection capabilities."
"The anomaly detection is the most valuable feature."
"CylanceOPTICS is pretty stable."
"You can use the solution to query certain things."
"I would rate the stability a nine out of ten. I would give it a close ten as possible because, like SentinelOne, I've seen incompatibility. Whereas Cylance, I've seen none."
"CylanceOPTICS is easy to use."
"The initial setup was fairly straightforward. To get a large health care organization sorted, we had to create exemptions because some of the scripts and some of the automations were broken."
"It automatically blocks the threats, helping us investigate if they harm the environment."
"It's pretty unintrusive"
"Cylance is not a signature-based protection solution and instead works proactively using AI and ML models to patrol for malicious behavior."

Cons

"The content-filtering features for children could be improved. We have young grandchildren aged 12 and 8. My daughter, their mother, wants to keep them from getting in trouble on the net. She looked at all these other solutions from Google, Microsoft, etc., and she couldn't figure out how to make any of those work. I told her that I bet CrowdStrike could handle this. Sure enough, CrowdStrike can do exactly that. It's the same solution that the Defense Department gets. It works, but it's a little complicated to implement. It could be simpler to set the policies."
"The current database schema presents challenges and has potential for improvement."
"We can do a threat analysis of any machine at any time, but that threat analysis is very limited."
"The detection time has room for improvement."
"The console is a little cluttered and at times, finding what you're looking for is not intuitive."
"On the firewall management side, there should be more granularity. There should also be more granularity for device control. Everything else is brilliant."
"CrowdStrike Falcon could be enhanced by extending its security capabilities to include NDR and XDR."
"It is cloud-based, and this does make some weary of the data being held on the cloud. Privacy requirements must be taken into account."
"Too many false positives are reported."
"The tools are ineffective. It flags a lot of things. To give you an example, it detected Google Chrome and blocked the user's access to it. That it mistook for malicious, which turned out to be a false positive."
"The detection component is something that they have to work on."
"Our customers would like to see more automation with respect to how threats are handled once they have been detected."
"One minor issue that somebody mentioned was that they didn't like their management console."
"The technical support could be improved although it's probably better than you get with a lot of the other traditional antivirus solutions"
"The product's initial setup process could be easy."
"The reporting is very weak and not very good at all."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our licensing fees were between $50,000 and $60,000 per year, which was pretty expensive for a small business."
"The other administrator and I can log in to check the exact details of what happened, what was running, and what caused the detection. We know exactly what was happening on the end users PC and we can tell if it's something that we actually need or something that's malicious."
"The pricing is definitely high but you get what you pay for, and it's not so high that it prices itself out of the market."
"In my opinion, the pricing of CrowdStrike Falcon seems aggressive."
"While CrowdStrike Falcon offers significant security benefits, its high price point might make it prohibitively expensive for many small and medium-sized businesses, including companies like ours."
"The price of CrowdStrike Falcon is expensive and should be reduced."
"With respect to pricing, my suggestion to others is to evaluate the environment and purchase what you need."
"We pay 40,000 dirhams per 100 users."
"The pricing for CylanceOPTICS is very good; I would rate it around a nine on a scale of one to ten, with ten being the lowest. It's one of the most affordable options I've seen."
"I would rate the pricing a three out of five."
"We pay for the number of endpoints we have and that is about it. On a monthly basis, the licensing cost is $55 per user."
"CylanceOPTICS is probably priced equal to other EDRs in the market."
