Enhancing attendance and leave management but needs better performance customization

Capable of consolidating data from all countries and providing access to any employee information across locations but poor user experience
Oracle HCM Cloud definitely has a lot to improve from a user experience perspective. The platform is huge and feature-rich, but is it truly appealing to an end user? Is it a two-click solution? Does it match current market trends in user experience? No, it has a lot of catching up to do. For example, is the screen catchy for an employee to see their details or access essential information? No. The user experience is zero. An employee needs training to apply for leave, something as simple as that. They shouldn't need training materials or user guides to navigate the system. We're moving towards empowering users, especially with end-user-facing systems. People should be self-reliant and not need to rely on manuals. Oracle HCM Cloud is very old-school in this regard. It's still stuck in the "PeopleSoft" mentality instead of focusing on a user-friendly experience for employees and managers. So, the user experience needs a major overhaul. So, to summarize, it needs to be more user-friendly and present key information on the login screen. In future releases, I would like to see employee dashboards. Oracle HCM should come up with ready-made employee dashboards, like very simple ones. Right now, an employee dashboard or a manager dashboard, but these should be readily available. You shouldn't expect a customer to go and design something they need. There are a few basic things any employee or manager in any company would want to see. One of the best things would be a very simple org chart. Now, the org chart is quite poor on Oracle. There are applications that focus only on org charts and look really good, giving a lot of details about a team and its employees. But Oracle's org chart is bad, so to be specific, they should improve it a lot.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The leave-related modules are comprehensive, offering built-in functionalities for optional leaves."
"The most valuable features of the solution are organogram and position-based mapping."
"The solution that we used previously was very complex. As a result, without referring to the manuals and consulting an expert, it was difficult for a newly hired employee to navigate the platform. However, this is not the case with Darwinbox. It has a very intuitive user interface, and anyone can use it and implement it without having to use a guide or a walk through process. It's very simple."
"In our company, we use DarwinBox to maintain the data of our employees and for recruitment purposes."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is a cloud-based tool."
"We have 35,000 employees in our organization, so we consider the solution to be scalable."
"The core part and the talent management part are most valuable."
"I like that it is mobile responsive and you can work directly with the vendor on specific requirements that you might have."
"In general, functionality is fine."
"I would recommend Oracle HCM Cloud to others."
"Oracle HCM Cloud is easier to use than Oracle ETS. Everything is included on one page, and we no longer need to do workarounds. For example, creating elements, eligibility profiles, and formulas is much easier."
"The feature I find most valuable in Oracle HCM Cloud is 'Journeys'. This feature is widely used across clients for onboarding, offboarding, and other automated tasks without manual intervention."

Cons

"Like most software, it has a base version, the vanilla, out-of-the-box version, and customization is required to match it to the unique processes of each company. The Darwinbox team seems to be having difficulty with the customization process. They have to be a little more mature to customize it as per every company's need."
"Customization in performance management is cumbersome."
"The solution's API integration with third-party applications should be improved."
"DarwinBox is not a stable solution...DarwinBox is not a scalable solution."
"From the feedback that I get, the functional side of the payroll could be improved."
"We're not receiving the proper support."
"Although the performance management is good, it could be improved as its functionality is quite basic."
"Legal local legislation integration could improve."
"I was part of a program I went to where I had a discussion on the latest innovation of the Oracle HCM. I think some of the newer technology innovations, such as gamification and consumerization are areas that could be improved."
"The features available in EBS should be available on the cloud as well. When these features are not available on the cloud, it's hard to convince customers to migrate."
"It would be very nice if we were able to roll back transactions from data that was loaded with the data loader."
"Once we are done working on a template, we can't change it unless we create a new one."

"My company makes some yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to DarwinBox."
"Compared with SuccessFactors, there is no major difference in DarwinBox's cost."
"The solution’s pricing is high."
"The data traffic cost is expensive. The solution can scale up beyond my imagination, but the cost can rise up easily."
"There is a subscription to use this solution, and there can be additional fees."
"The solution is expensive."
"I don't know how much it costs, but I know that everything is included. We don't pay anything extra apart from the licensing fee."
"I am not normally involved in the product's pricing since it normally involves the packages that a user chooses. Pricing differs based on a case-to-case scenario and client-to-client basis."
"Though I cannot comment on the solution's cost, a fixed cost is involved based on my understanding. The cost multiplies based on the number of users."
"The price for Oracle HCM Cloud is expensive in Iran, but in other countries, such as Turkey, it can be reasonably priced."
