It's easy to set up because you point the DNS to it, and it's working in under 15 minutes
Cloudflare is highly scalable. Cloudflare is a system with a web portal that the end users like me see. It's a console where we can adjust the DNS, caching, and security features all in that console. Cloudflare owns thousands of servers across the world that cache the data. It's a powerful solution. When clients sign up for Cloudflare, they're getting this monster content delivery network, security, and a web application firewall in one. It's all rolled into one, and it's massive. Unless you have your website hosted on a massive hosting provider, there's no way that you can deliver the amount of data that Cloudflare can provide to the end users. If you have static content, there's no way that you can ever match what Cloudflare can do. Obviously, there are competitors to Cloudflare that do the same, but I'm saying other types of solutions. Let's say you go with F5. Great, that's on-prem. That's in your colo. You can't deliver as much data to the internet as you can with a CDN. You don't have to spend $20,000 on a net scaler, F5, or whatever Cisco's selling now. You don't have to buy that. You pay them $50 a month or $150 a month. It's totally worth it because even in five years, you'll never get the performance value, not just the actual ROI. You have to consider how much throughput you can get with Cloudflare.

Enables organizations to monitor the network and protect themselves from data leakage
The initial setup process is very simple and easy. We have no issues to do it for ourselves or our customers. The deployment takes less than 20 days. The integration is very simple. However, first, we must understand what we want to have on our network and what we want to prevent. If we don't have this information before we start the configuration, we will be lost. We must know what kind of protection we need in our company. We have LGPD in Brazil. It is similar to GDPR in Europe. It prevents any personal information from being linked to other companies without permission. We have to take care of the personal information of our customers, employees, and partners. To deploy the tool, we must understand what we need to do. We must download the whole package and have our infrastructure ready to receive it. We must get the SSL certification and start to configure our platform. When the process is finished, we must roll out a small portion of our network to ensure everything will be well. After that, we must do the full rollout.

Implements confidentiality principles effectively
Over the years, a lot has changed, so it is not that much at the moment. I know they are all working on changing the look and feel, the UI. It is always good to have a more modern look and feel than the old-school square blocks. Other than that, it's mainly support. Having someone within a region who understands the countries and how they approach data and information security is sometimes where the problem lies. It's not always the product.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Many websites require an SSL certificate because they sell stuff and want SSL. Cloudflare comes with an SSL certificate built in. It's automatic. You sign yourself up for Cloudflare, and an SSL certificate automatically protects your website. You don't necessarily need a certificate if you have a connection between your website and your host, the server, Cloudflare, and the host."
"Smaller businesses have seen great ROI due to the low investment and strong performance."
"The attacker won't have details since my public IP is anonymous. It offers us good privacy."
"Generally, I am satisfied with this product."
"I get a lot of value from Cloudflare's API because it enables you to build a separate environment inside the solution. You can create a domain for performing test requests before you move to the production environment and connect various domains."
"DDoS attacks target unprotected machines. Cloudflare detects and stops these attacks using internal systems. It identifies incoming DDoS attacks, issuing challenges or blocking them immediately."
"Its most significant benefit to date is the speed with which it refreshes DNS records on the internet once you change it. If you are changing a website or registering a new record, it is very quick."
"From what I've seen so far, there are no negatives to report as of yet"
"I am impressed with the tool's ease of deployment."
"The classifications in place are very helpful in making policies for ensuring sensitive data can be contained."
"The product has a centralized console for everything."
"They have a fingerprint feature that is very awesome. OCR is very awesome to have too."
"The main thing that I like about GTB is that it has a single agent for DLP and data classification. You can use the same agent. In terms of licensing too, it has a single license. When it comes to data classification, it supports open-source document platforms such as ChainSoft and OpenOffice."
"The monitoring features are valuable."
"This solution helps classify what is confidential and what is not, allowing products to be installed at home if they do not contain confidential information."
"The most valuable feature is we can develop what we want. If we have an old or new requirement, they are able to support us to develop it all within one month."
"It is a very stable solution."
"Trellix DLP offers many features, using EDR, EPP, disk encryption, and other features."
"It prevents enterprises from installing external software and devices and can block specific network pathways."
"I rate the product an eight out of ten."
"The solution involves implementing the confidentiality, utility, and availability principles."
"Trellix DLP helps handle false positives, but it depends on your configuration. It is quite overwhelming in terms of its dashboard."
"The tool has prebuilt templates for data classification. It is easier for customers to get started."
"Scalability is feasible since it's on-premises. It's easy to scale there."

Cons

"Cloudflare does not have an on-premise solution. If they had different approaches they could be better suited to accommodate more customers, such as on-premise and hybrid deployments. For example, hybrid deployments would be useful where you could move the traffic from the enterprise to the cloud."
"Although I think it's quite good, it doesn't provide me with all the features I would expect to have if I were using Imperva."
"I think the APIs are a little bit hard for us to work with. The APIs could be more open so that we could integrate better with our SolarWinds or our monitoring solution."
"Cloudflare doesn't have a reverse lookup. We can only do a DNS lookup to get the IP address from the hostname. It doesn't work if you want to look up the hostname from an IPA address."
"Cloudflare's free plan is limited to 5,000 records for their free plan. They should increase that. For example, if I create a domain called abc.com and a subdomain called a.abc.com, my record count will be two. I can make a maximum of 5,000 subdomains. However, if we use our own DNS hosted on another provider, there is no limit. Their free plan also lacks name server customization."
"Support response time could be improved."
"One area of improvement is in the Access Rules. Hypothetically, if we wanted to block or challenge traffic outside of the United States, the only way to currently do that (as far as I know) is to enter every single country outside of the United States. That could be a labor intensive job. A solution could be to enable users to create a rule where traffic is only allowed within a certain country."
"Integration involving API with other products could be more user-friendly."
"It would be great if they have information rights management (IRM) on the same agent."
"The solution’s performance must be improved."
"They have a roadmap for the Linux platform and Mac as well, and in the next quarter, they might have patch management also for Windows. However, they don't have that much for Linux and Mac. So, we need those things in Linux and Mac as well."
"The product needs to improve its support so that users can just log in and create tickets as opposed to sending emails. Sending emails is difficult to track. It also needs to work on its analytics platform."
"The tool should include better AI features."
"The solution could improve by providing additional availability requirements."
"To stay competitive, they should expand to smartphones."
"The performance could be better."
"Trellix is incompatible with Linux, and its DLP part is incompatible with Mac. Sometimes, it does not work on Windows, either."
"The support team's response time during the night is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The whole UI of the server console installed on the standalone computers is hefty."
"I would rate the solution seven out of ten based on my last experience within the last six months. It's a bit of a fallback, and I know they are working on improving scalability."
"It's not very user-friendly for a beginner, so it would be easier if the platform or console were manageable or user-friendly. The dashboard could be simplified."
"In future releases, I would like to see like to see encryption available on the cloud-based version."
"The bugs need improvement."
"Virtualization is complex and requires proper training. However, once you get trained, it is a very good product."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are using the free version."
"The price is reasonable."
"A free version of the solution is available."
"When you compare Cloudflare DNS to other solutions, such as Akamai, the price is reasonable."
"We are using the free tier of the solution."
"We don't have any issues with the price."
"There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fees."
"The product's pricing is cheap."
"The tool's pricing is affordable and based on the number of endpoints."
"Its price is very reasonable and competitive."
"They offer a lot of features in a single bundle. So, if you want to remove some features from GTB, you can remove those. You don't need to buy those, and the price will reduce accordingly. I am very happy with the pricing."
"The tool is not expensive."
"The tool has a fair price."
"When comparing GTB Technologies Inspector to other solutions you receive a good value for your money when considering all the features and benefits."
