Used for end-to-end logistics, manufacturing, and finance, but its performance could be improved
We are using the solution for end-to-end logistics, manufacturing, and finance Infor LN is a completely integrated product that provides good stability. The solution’s performance could be improved. I have been using Infor LN since 2017. I rate the solution’s stability a six out of ten.…

Offers a wide range of functionalities for large enterprises but system requires expertise to implement and configure
In the past few years, the main challenge has been the annual maintenance cost. We've often replaced Oracle with Dynamics, which is cheaper than Oracle but still expensive for governments in Africa with limited budgets to sustain it. So, the main challenge is the cost versus the value. We don't get lower value with Dynamics 365, and I've seen governments implement other alternatives like Odoo, too. They don't see the value in paying millions of dollars in maintenance fees. Oracle needs to understand the reality of the situation. In the African market, Oracle is the least of the considerations. People don't even want to consider Oracle. They need to come up with something more cost-effective because people do not see the value in paying those maintenance fees. As a system integrator, I don't gain anything because most of the money gets transferred to Oracle. They need to relook at their licensing models. NetSuite is pretty rigid for a cloud-based suite. There are varying requirements to make changes to the configuration, which becomes a hassle compared to even Dynamics. They need to relax how they handle this. The licensing is also very complicated, with so many parameters that it's confusing, and sizing becomes confusing. Streamlining the licensing would be helpful so that it becomes transparent for the customer.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Infor LN is a completely integrated product that provides good stability."
"It's not too hard to handle the initial setup."
"The project module is the best that I've ever seen, and more than that, it's the company's flexibility to change. It means that in our company, Infor LN has the capability to support many kinds of industries."
"We have definitely seen a return on our investment with the product."
"It has strong sales, purchase, warehousing, and logistics order management."
"It's fast, predicts well, and is basically the best tool in the market for the automotive industry and network planning projects."
"I would say that it is typically used by large-scale manufacturing industries, especially in discrete manufacturing, and it has proven to work brilliantly."
"The most valuable feature is its ability to handle products with up to 2,500 components, making it valuable for streamlining complex business operations."
"I like Oracle ERP for streamlining the entire process from PRTL and invoice payments. It also has the decision and internet sale order, and my customers can correct the internet decision. It automatically converts to the internet order, and they don't need to create the entry object. They don't need to make a secondary ledger in the parent company and subsidiary. That's very helpful for internet decisions. If they get an order at the parent company, it automatically creates the sales system in the subsidiary."
"The most valuable features of Oracle E-Business Suite are all the 15 to 20 modules. We use them on a day-to-day basis."
"It is a very consistent product on IBM. There is also a lot of knowledge data."
"Oracle E-Business Suite improves forecast accuracy, reduces costs, and increases manufacturing capacity."
"Financial and asset management features are valuable."
"Oracle E-Business Suite has over 20 different modules to choose from, it is comprehensive. Additionally, the integration is very good."
"The solution has strong financial models and a strong database."
"The order management is excellent."

Cons

"In general, the HR-related part of Infor LN doesn't work properly in Germany, making it an area that requires improvement."
"When it comes to planning, it's more challenging to consider the entire structure, such as having a specific SKU and wanting to look at the planning for the whole structure. You must delve into individual item details to plan for it with order planning. Therefore, improvements will allow more comprehensive planning for each SKU."
"The interface can be difficult sometimes. I need to apply a bar code system, such as business intelligence and user interface tools. The user has to be a technician sometimes to use it."
"The finance model within this solution does not have very strong reporting functionality, which I would like to see improved."
"The training for Infor LN is not straightforward, so a non-specialist will need training before using it."
"The user interface needs to be improved."
"The solution’s performance could be improved."
"One area that could be improved in Omada Access Points is team communication."
"Sometimes I have issues with the performance tuning."
"The simplicity of the user experience needs to be improved tremendously."
"Oracle E-Business Suite uses an old technology (Forms), which is Java-based."
"A downside of Oracle E-Business Suite is its interface because it's less user-friendly than the latest cloud solutions. As an organization, Oracle now has more interest in cloud applications, so nowadays, it doesn't focus much on Oracle E-Business Suite, an on-premises solution, so this is another downside."
"It requires training before you can easily use this product, so it should be easier to use."
"The initial setup is complex."
"Administration takes some effort. Administrating the technology stack is not so complex but application aware database administration and following the new methodologies like online patching can be a little complex and time consuming. Oracle should ease the administrators jobs and do some innovation on this administration area as well. Oracle Autonomous Database is Oracle's leading technology these days. Using a similar approach, application stack may become a little more self-managing."
"It's difficult for some customers to understand in the beginning. A user really has to understand the processes."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing costs for this solution are payable annually. Standard licenses are available, but there is also the option to pay to add extra features."
"Only people who undergo training from the companies can learn about Infor products."
"I would say that Infor's pricing is competitive compared to other ERP solutions available in the market, such as SAP and Oracle."
"We have to pay a licensing fee for the solution."
"The tool’s AMC and support are given on a yearly basis. You need to make monthly payments for support."
"The standard pricing is two thousand per year per user. There are no additional costs."
"If you use Infor LN in Infor CloudSuite, there is a need to make an early payment for a license, which is approximately 2,500 EUR."
"The price of the solution can vary."
"We have an annual license to use the Oracle E-Business Suite and we have an enterprise license."
"Oracle's pricing is lower than that of its competitors."
"The price of the solution is extremely high."
"In my opinion, the prices for Oracle ERP are reasonable, especially considering the various discounts that are often available."
"Oracle's licenses are not straightforward."
"The solution is quite expensive."
"Oracle scales the pricing, but E-Business Suite is still very expensive for small to mid-sized businesses."
"Products concerning areas like CRM and ERP should provide value at lesser costs to customers, especially if you consider that the initial cost of implementation is high."
