An easy-to-use format that is flexible and scalable
Our company has a partnership with the solution and we use it as a development platform. We have between 500 to 1,000 users.  The virtual patching feature is valuable.  The solution does its job by providing the needed protection.  The easy-to-use format is flexible and can scale.  The solution…

Reliable with good reporting and custom dashboards
I don't have any huge love for it. I don't have any huge love for most of the tech solutions I use. Working in software sales could be better. The tasks, the reminders, and keeping myself on point, for example, in that sense, the forecasting could all be better. It could be maybe a bit more user-intuitive. I've been using the Lightning version for the last couple of years. There were a couple of features that were lost from Salesforce Classic to Lightning, though I recognize some of the improvements. Better UI and UX would be great. They should offer more help built into the platform itself. It would be really useful if, for example, in the reporting tab, I could have a little wizard or something which says, "Hey, this is your first time visiting the reports tab. Here are details and Youtube videos," et cetera.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like how we can actively develop and customize APEX because it's on the same database."
"It helps us create web pages quickly."
"It's fairly easy to make a user-friendly interface."
"This product will speed up development time with helpful production aids."
"Quick development and the connection with the database are the most valuable and useful features. It is also very stable, scalable, and easy to set up. Its support is also good."
"It has a well-designed architecture and is a simple 3rd party application."
"What I like best about Oracle Application Express (APEX) is that it doesn't require hard coding for reporting and building applications. It's a GUI-based application builder that even end-users with little development and language knowledge can develop applications on Oracle Application Express (APEX). The software is also very user-friendly, which I find valuable."
"The product's initial setup phase was straightforward."
"The solution is very robust and easy to develop in."
"It's very flexible and offers tremendous features for customers."
"One can do almost everything using Salesforce's OOTB functionality without much investment."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...I rate Salesforce Platform's technical support a ten out of ten."
"We haven't had any issues with stability so far."
"It is very user-friendly, and intuitive, it will lead you and take you to the next steps."
"It is very modular in approach. It is very light, and it can be used on various devices. It could be used on an Android phone or a laptop, which makes it good for the sales team on the road."
"We also use Salesforce to find trends to make informed decisions in terms of events and marketing campaigns."

Cons

"I would like to see easier integration into active directory authentication. Also, maybe integration of JavaScript frameworks would resolve some issues."
"The migration process is difficult in Oracle Application Express."
"It would be highly beneficial if APEX were an all-in-one platform capable of handling all aspects of application development."
"In terms of improvement, there should be a greater focus on AI and machine learning tools in Oracle APEX."
"You also need an APEX specialist for deployment because not many people use it."
"Visual Builder and APEX should meld in one product."
"Being able to only design with HTML and CSS can be limiting as to what can be accomplished."
"There is one disadvantage. When facing problems, it can be difficult to find solutions online (Google/YouTube), unlike with Java coding, where solutions are readily available on Google."
"Reporting could be better. Reporting is Excel-based, and it has sucked since the inception of the company. That's why I was excited about the fact of them bringing MuleSoft into the fold and Tableau."
"Their reporting needs to be improved. It should be easier. I don't know how, but it needs to be easier."
"Pricing is the biggest factor. The cost right now is too high and I've had a lot of clients leave."
"Salesforce Platform is a bit expensive compared to other CRM products, which is a drawback."
"The management of Salesforce could be quite a task. Old and unusable contacts can add up over time. If I could wave a magic wand, it would be to initiate a self-cleaning feature."
"They should provide access to data quality tips and tricks to make it better."
"Salesforce could improve by adding more capabilities to the dashboard, such as additional fields for more filters and more control over what I would like to see."
"The cost of data storage is an issue once the company grows."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the product's price as ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is a high price, and ten is a low price."
"The tool is free with the Oracle Database license."
"If you have a license to Oracle database, you can access APEX."
"It's a free solution with no additional costs."
"We have a full Oracle E-Business Suite license, and we use that license to develop applications. There's no license required for developing Oracle applications."
"When you have a licensed database in an Oracle environment, APEX is free."
"Oracle Express comes with the Oracle license, it is a bundle."
"There is a trial version available that can be used free of charge."
"It is very expensive. Its licensing is on a monthly basis."
"The solution is fairly priced."
"Pricing for the Salesforce Platform is too expensive."
"Pricing and license differ and depend on how much license you are purchasing from them."
"The licensing is on the expensive side, but most clients engage in negotiations to reach a more favorable agreement. For stand-alone or medium-sized clients, it can be relatively costly."
"It is a fair price for what it's offering, in comparison with other solutions that are available on the market."
"I haven't had to buy Salesforce, however, I have heard it's $1500 a user."
"In general, the price is an area where there is always room for improvement."
