Reduces organizational risk, low on machine load, and helps prevent ransomware
The most important aspect of the solution is that the load on the machine is not very high. It doesn't take up battery resources. The solution prevents ransomware and other threats. So far, it is working brilliantly. The dashboards and UI are user friendly, as is the ability to configure as needed. It seems to have a lot more capabilities. The XDR capabilities, in particular, look very strong. We're currently looking into that. If we want to do integrations with third parties, we don't have very many challenges around that. The ability to ingest and correlate across our security solutions is very useful. It's impressive. The AI engine it has is excellent. It helps us consolidate our security solutions. While it does not allow us to reduce alerts per se, it does a good job of correlating. The way it's integrated into the SIM, it's working to the expectations we have. The solution helps free up people so that they can work on other tasks. We don't have to grow our team too much now. My security team is actually quite small - about five people. We all get more time to handle other tasks. We've noted that it does help reduce mean time to respond. We can identify events easier and those that are most critical are brought to the forefront. Previously, we were in the dark. Now we have so much more visibility. It's been a huge improvement. It's effectively helped to reduce organizational risk.

Easy to implement, good integrations, and helpful technical support services
It is mainly an antivirus product for both desktops as well as servers. It has additional modules which can be enabled in fast manner. It uses the same agent and additional modules like FIM, Filing Integrity Management and ELP services.  The product is easy to implement and easy to integrate with…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is that it does what it says it will do. It fulfills its claims. It’s not really common for products to do that today."
"All of the features are valuable. The way that it integrates into management with fault correction capabilities over is especially valuable. Any of the full gamut of the features that it provides are useful to us."
"I really like the storyline feature."
"We have a preference for their receptor. It's good at finding many EFC files. EFC files could have a virus."
"It is a good endpoint solution. That's the reason we chose it. We looked at other solutions, such as CrowdStrike, and based on the cost and the services it delivers, it was the better choice."
"The EDR functionality of the platform is what we use the most. That was the primary reason why we got SentinelOne. That is what we use the most in terms of functionality."
"The console is light years better than the CrowdStrike console, which had just a bunch of different screens cobbled together. It is much more unified and much easier to work with. It is very nicely designed."
"We find the solution to be scalable."
"The most valuable features of the solution we have enabled in our organization are its anti-malware capabilities, applications, web reputation, and integrity monitoring."
"Technical support is good."
"Their support is good. They are responsive, which is nice."
"The most valuable feature is the virtual patching."
"Trend Micro Deep Security has a sandboxing unit, which is one of the major features that actually gives you a chance to detect any kind of threat in your network or on your servers."
"It is stable and we have not faced any challenges during the rolled out"
"Aside from the basic antivirus features, there are additional features such as vulnerability protection, firewall, etc. which are helpful."
"The most valuable feature of the product is vulnerability detection."

Cons

"SentinelOne is causing a problem with the data service that causes one of our applications to crash randomly. We're still looking for a permanent fix, but we have implemented a temporary workaround that excludes that application from the scan."
"There aren't enough reporting capabilities for decision-makers."
"I would like to improve the reports because they are not so customizable and we would like more info from them."
"SentinelOne Singularity Complete takes up a lot of memory in Google Chrome, which sometimes causes it to lag, so this is an area for improvement. The solution could be improved by increasing its efficiency within the web browser."
"It would be nice if the console stored data daily, so that you could look at a timeline of events on a machine over a period of time, and currently this is not possible."
"Interoperability with other SentinelOne solutions and other third-party tools is an area where you can run into some issues. Because of the way the agent works, there are sometimes things that are blocked or prevented from happening that are not identified as a threat, and therefore, not alerted in the console. Sometimes, we do have to dig through the logs, run tests, and adjust the whitelisting or exclusions to make sure that other applications will run properly."
"In terms of improvement, the documentation could be better. I would also like to see SingularityOne compatibility with Huntress, and the tighter integration between them would bring more to the table."
"Generally, the stability is good, but I would like to see better stability from the solution. The stability issue is partially a con of a behavioral-based product, but being behavioral-based, it also has a lot of pros."
"The default reports provided don't provide much insight."
"Our company faced issues syncing the active directory accounts"
"The implementation can be inflexible and not easy, as it requires knowledge of things like virtualization and administration on Windows."
"I would like them to separate their products into different categories, rather than putting everything in one box."
"A minor issue in Trend Micro Deep Security is that once the tool is upgraded, it shows some machines as offline or not reported while showing a recent update as outdated. The tool has some server connection issues."
"The situation with the currency in Turkey makes this solution a little bit on the expensive side, and if it were lowered then it would be more competitive."
"Requires simplification, a fair amount of trouble shooting required."
"Pricing is on the expensive side and could be more affordable. The technical support for Trend Micro Deep Security also needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"When it came to the price compared to other solutions we tested, SentinelOne Singularity gave us the price of our expectations whereas CrowdStrike could not."
"This solution is less expensive than its competitors."
"The pricing is reasonable. It may be a little high, but it's on par with everything out there."
"SentinelOne Singularity Complete can be expensive for the SMB market but is suitable for enterprise-level organizations."
"The license is per user."
"The solution is a bit cheaper than CrowdStrike Falcon Pro and more expensive than smaller solutions. Still, it has a pretty reasonable price point, as I appreciate the flexibility SentinelOne Singularity Complete offers."
"I do not know much about the pricing. What I do know is that the person who negotiates most of the pricing is quite a hard bargainer. In that regard, he often says that he managed to get a very good deal. When we first looked at replacing our old system with Singularity Complete, its price was definitely a big factor. Back then, Singularity Complete was fairly new to the marketplace. We got quite a good deal as an early adopter. They have honored that and respected that we were an early adopter, and I feel we are still getting a very good price."
"I believe that the current pricing and licensing structure is fair."
"CrowdStrike had an advantage over Trend Micro when it came to pricing. Trend Micro had several modules, so it was a little priced up, but CrowdStrike was not. However, even CrowdStrike has increased their price now, so probably both of them are on par, but the number of modules that Trend Micro has is far more than CrowdStrike. It comes with file integrity monitoring, application control, and web reputation. It has outbound URL protection, and it also has ransomware protection for servers, whereas CrowdStrike Falcon is a straightforward solution."
"The training needs improvement. It is expensive (classroom training), and it is often hard to find answers by yourself using the documentation."
"If you want to scale the solution you will have to adjust the license."
"Purchasing this solution through the AWS Marketplace was secure and quick. AWS has good prices for a good product."
"It is a very expensive solution. It would be nice if they lower its price. Its license is based on the machines."
"Trend Micro Deep Security is average compared to other products on the market; it's neither particularly expensive nor cheap."
"Our company chose to procure this product via AWS Marketplace due to regulatory requirements. We mostly use it in the AWS GovCloud."
"While the pricing was on the higher side, the manageability and comprehensive alerts provided by the product justified the cost."
