Speaking about the solution's use cases, I would say that it is typically used by large-scale manufacturing industries, especially in discrete manufacturing, and it has proven to work brilliantly.
Solutions Architect at Merino Consulting Services
A solution which works brilliantly for large-scale manufacturing industries
Pros and Cons
- "I would say that it is typically used by large-scale manufacturing industries, especially in discrete manufacturing, and it has proven to work brilliantly."
- "Regarding areas for improvement within the solution, I would say that the solution's asset management and quality management need attention."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
Specifically, I believe that Infor LN's strengths lie in its manufacturing module, planning capabilities, and order management features, such as procure-to-pay and order-to-cash. If I had to pinpoint one specific domain, I would say that manufacturing is exceptionally strong in Infor LN.
What needs improvement?
Regarding areas for improvement within the solution, I would say that the solution's asset management and quality management need attention.
Regarding features I would like to see included in the next release of this solution, HRM capabilities should be a priority since Infor LN is an ERP solution. While other ERPs provide HR functionalities, such as payroll for salary calculations, Infor LN currently lacks these capabilities. In Infor LN, the existing add-on comes under a different package and a different product altogether, requiring integration. Therefore, enhancing or developing HR application functionalities within Infor LN would make it a complete solution. In short, the next release of the solution should include features that can help improve the human resource management process.
For how long have I used the solution?
I am a manufacturing consultant for Infor LN and work for an implementation organization. So, we implement Infor LN ERP for our customers around the globe. The company name is Infor, and the ERP application name is LN. I am currently using Infor LN Version 10.8 on the cloud.
I am working for a company, Merino Consulting Services, which is a channel partner for Infor.
I have been working with Infor LN for close to ten years now. So, it has been almost a decade.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Stability-wise, I rate this solution an eight out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Regarding scalability, Infor provides regular updates, including major and minor updates. Weekly and monthly updates are also available, and every quarter or either every six months or one year, Infor releases a new version. In addition to updates, Infor keeps adding enhancements, functionalities, tax-related regimes, and localizations. In terms of scalability, it can be rated as eight out of ten.
Our clients are primarily medium and large-sized organizations, focusing on larger organizations.
How are customer service and support?
Infor's technical support is reliable. One can rely on the technical support that Infor provides. I rate Infor's technical support an eight out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
What about the implementation team?
When setting up the solution initially, Infor Implementation Accelerators are available in the cloud version that comes as a bundle. With the Implementation Accelerators, all the default parameters will be set for you, so you have to do nothing except create your own data and start using the application. For the initial setup of the solution, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
For the past seven to eight years, Infor has been offering cloud deployment as an implementation option. Speaking personally, I have experience with both on-premise implementations and cloud deployments. Currently, Infor is actively promoting and encouraging cloud implementations.
After commissioning the license agreement, deployment typically takes around 24 hours. From there, it should only take between 24 to 48 hours for the actual customer to start using the application. During the deployment process, the company selling the product will create a dedicated URL or link for the customer to access the application. It may take around 48 hours for the company to complete the necessary setup and make the application available to the customer if, supposedly, the application is hosted in the cloud and requires multiple functions to be configured.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
As a consultant, I am unaware of the price since I am not directly involved in sales. However, based on my experience, I would say that Infor's pricing is competitive compared to other ERP solutions available in the market, such as SAP and Oracle. It is neither the most expensive nor the least expensive option available. Therefore, I would rate Infor's pricing as an eight out of ten.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Infor LN, especially for those in the discrete manufacturing industry. From my experience, I believe it is the best and most optimal solution. With Infor LN, one can increase productivity and ROI. Also, the efficiency and effectiveness are great in terms of ROI.
When compared to other applications, Infor LN on the cloud provides alerts. The solution also allows a person to configure the workflows. Artificial intelligence and business intelligence (BI) are also available, along with analytical dashboards as an in-built solution. Apart from Infor LN, and the core ERP solution, all of these features, such as document management as repository analytics, workflows, and alerts, come as a bundle and are built-in. Additionally, the application is easily customizable, and even those with minimal technical skills can easily make changes. Furthermore, several user-friendly features allow users to personalize their screens and reports with minimal training. Owing to the reasons mentioned earlier, I rate this solution an eight out of ten.

You can leverage alerts and workflows and customize reports using the Report Designer
Pros and Cons
- "Most of them who use Infor LN have add-ons connected to ERP. It's either a supplier exchange, or they've got sales problems that are integrated with it."
- "When it comes to planning, it's more challenging to consider the entire structure, such as having a specific SKU and wanting to look at the planning for the whole structure. You must delve into individual item details to plan for it with order planning. Therefore, improvements will allow more comprehensive planning for each SKU."
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution for various use cases across aerospace, manufacturing, construction, aquaculture, and trading industries.
How has it helped my organization?
We achieved manufacturing efficiencies with some solutions by 70-80%.
Most of them who use Infor LN have add-ons connected to ERP. It's either a supplier exchange, or they've got sales problems that are integrated with it.
Infor OS makes it easy to integrate multiple applications. You have a lot of standard boards that you could use. We've integrated it with sales portals, and it's easy to enable.
What is most valuable?
The most viable feature is the manufacturing module. There are benefits to using cloud-based ION, such as facilitating seamless connections with third parties. You can leverage alerts and workflows and customize reports using the Report Designer. Another advantage is the document management feature integrated into Infor OS. The planning engine is highly robust. Furthermore, the integration with Factory Track is easy to use.
Infor helps people make quicker, better decisions.
What needs improvement?
When it comes to planning, it's more challenging to consider the entire structure, such as having a specific SKU and wanting to look at the planning for the whole structure. You must delve into individual item details to plan for it with order planning. Therefore, improvements will allow more comprehensive planning for each SKU.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Infor LN for 23 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable with minimal issues. We receive prompt and satisfactory responses from the product company. It's a reliable product that has been in the market for a considerable time.
I rate the solution's stability a nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is highly scalable. It's hard if you're on the cloud suite. You can get all releases functionalities much faster than the on-prem solutions.
20-25 users are using this solution.
I rate the solution's scalability a ten out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
Yu receive a quick response from support for standard issues. If it's related to customizations, you might need to handle it internally or engage with the consultancy team. When it comes to specific customizations, there might be a challenge in determining responsibility and whether Infor will support it. However, the support quite good regarding standard issues.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward, depending on the knowledge levels of your consultants. The process follows the Infor method of 60-30-10. 60% of the setup involves out-of-the-box solutions and accelerators, making the rollout easier and faster. The remaining 30% may require minimal customizations on a case-by-case basis. The last 10% involves addressing specific customer requirements. Following this method facilitates a smoother rollout and faster implementation.
It depends on the kind of modules, but it takes between six to eight months. If there are fewer modules and you want to fast-track it, it can be done in four months. You could also probably use the benefit of Infor's actual data.
I would rate the initial setup as an eight or nine out of ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy.
What about the implementation team?
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The product is expensive. It's clear upfront what you're getting for this price, and there aren't any hidden charges.
I rate the product’s pricing a six out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive.
What other advice do I have?
I recommend the solution. However, it will depend on the solution you're looking for and the industry you're coming from. Infor offers a variety of cloud suites tailored to specific verticals. It is essential to choose the right one. Staying with Infor can be a good solution, but selecting the appropriate cloud suite is crucial. For example, if you're in healthcare or fashion, you'd likely look at different options.
It is easy to integrate multiple applications or software into it. All these plugins are in place if you're going in for any Infor product. It's just a matter of enabling them to ensure it works. Even regarding custom boards or flows, that's also easy to do. You already have a lot of standard boards that you could use, but modifying them is not hard. It is easy to do. We've integrated it with sales portals. It is quite easy to enable them.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Efficient and scalable enterprise management with robust manufacturing capabilities, global integration support, excellent technical assistance, and a versatile cloud platform
Pros and Cons
- "Material planning and predictive planning are both essential aspects."
- "The user interface is not very intuitive for newer users."
What is our primary use case?
It is particularly well-suited for industries with a focus on manufacturing, such as repetitive manufacturing or job-shop environments. Organizations in these sectors have found significant value in optimizing their manufacturing processes. Additionally, the software has proven effective in enhancing financial management practices for a wide range of businesses. Specifically, its robust features in both manufacturing and finance make Infor LN a valuable solution for companies seeking comprehensive support in these key operational areas.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is production planning. Material planning and predictive planning are both essential aspects.
What needs improvement?
The user interface is not very intuitive for newer users. The reporting functionality is effective but the presentation is outdated and requires modification for a more modern and user-friendly experience.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been working with it for almost a year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability capabilities eight out of ten. The main challenge lies in the extended training required for users due to the system's complexity, with numerous screens and checks.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate it eight out of ten. The advantage lies in its capability for both vertical and horizontal integration, not only within the Infor ecosystem but also with non-Infor systems. Unlike traditional database sharing, it operates more efficiently, functioning like a quick and flexible system. Currently, it caters to a diverse customer base ranging from medium to large enterprises, totaling around twelve customers.
How are customer service and support?
I would rate technical support at eight out of ten. Particularly in India, the support is excellent. There's a dedicated support team based in Hyderabad that promptly responds to any issues. Their assistance extends not only to customers but also to partners.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
I would rate the initial setup seven out of ten regarding its complexity. The challenge lies in the extensive setup required for the basic system to function effectively. This involves configuring numerous mapping screens and setting up multiple integration accounts, which is a one-time activity but is time-consuming.
What about the implementation team?
The primary concern lies not in the functionality itself but rather in the complexity of configuring it from a consulting perspective during implementation. While the planning output is accurate when the data is input correctly, the process becomes cumbersome, particularly for consultants setting up the system. The end results are satisfactory, but there is a desire for a more user-friendly approach, such as incorporating drag-and-drop functionality for planning and scheduling. The deployment time varies, but under standard conditions with no significant process changes, it typically takes six to seven months to go live. This timeframe includes implementation for sales, warehousing, manufacturing, finance, quality, and fixed modules—essentially covering core modules for a comprehensive system launch. Infor follows a deployment process known as IDM (Infor Deployment Method). This method involves several key steps, starting with a high-level process design, followed by project training. Subsequently, a prototype is created and subject to approval before moving on to the conference room pilot. Additional testing phases, such as conference room two or sequential testing, may be included, along with user training, data conversion, leading up to the final stage of going live.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The cost is somewhat high. I would rate it seven out of ten. It is considered relatively expensive for the medium market in India. The shift to cloud-based services has standardized pricing globally, eliminating country-specific discounts based on currency value or economic factors. For on-premises solutions, there's a twenty percent annual maintenance cost.
What other advice do I have?
Before choosing an ERP system, particularly for manufacturing, it's crucial to assess the system's ability to configure processes without extensive customization. This has posed challenges for both new and existing customers. Engaging with Infor consultants, testing with a sample production order, and observing the results provide a more accurate assessment than relying on standard reports or promotional materials. Overall, I would rate it eight out of ten.

Reasonable pricing with a straightforward setup and good stability
Pros and Cons
- "It's not too hard to handle the initial setup."
- "The user interface needs to be improved."
What is our primary use case?
Infor LN is an ERP which we are using. It covers all logistics and finance transactions.
How has it helped my organization?
The solution has helped a lot in the sense of consolidation and in providing us with real-time information.
What is most valuable?
The solution is in proper ERP. It covers all of our requirements and is an integrator solution. That's why we like working with it.
The product is fairly stable.
It's not too hard to handle the initial setup.
The pricing is very reasonable.
What needs improvement?
The user interface needs to be improved. Right now, it's not ideal in terms of the design. The interface is not elegant on multiple products, such as enterprise assessment, supply chain solutions, and HR information.
The support on offer is lacking. They really need to be better at helping their clients.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been basically using the solution since 1999. It's been about two decades. I've been working on it for quite a while.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is quite stable. We don't really deal with bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's been good overall. We find it pretty reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The product is scalable. That said, there are certain components created for India Localization, which are sort of specific to India related aspects, those need a little scalability. Indian laws are also very dynamic, so it may be hard to keep up with the registered changes.
We've been using this solution for a very, very long time and we do plan to continue to use it going forward.
How are customer service and technical support?
We have not been satisfied with technical support at all.
We deal with them a lot and often call them on a weekly basis. They aren't helpful. We're very disappointed.
How was the initial setup?
The installation was very straightforward. It was not complex at all. A company shouldn't have issues with the implementation process.
It's a quite stable product, however, there will be editing problems for the setup and all that. Those issues are normal with any ERP implementation. If a user follows the guidelines from the company and sets up the procedures well, they should be fine. If you can limit the customization, or have no customization, it will mean that you won't need a large amount of time for the full deployment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution is quite competitively priced. If you compare it to SAP, for example, it is quite reasonable.
What other advice do I have?
We are just a customer and end-user. We don't have a relationship with the company.
We were using Baan SQL, which later became Infor LN. We've been using the solution for a very long time.
On a scale from one to ten, I would rate this product at a seven. It's okay. Mostly we are happy with it. However, the interface and technical support are two areas where improvements can be made.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Private Cloud

Developer at a educational organization with 201-500 employees
Stable, scalable, has good customization features and provides a return on one's investment
Pros and Cons
- "We have definitely seen a return on our investment with the product."
- "Only people who undergo training from the companies can learn about Infor products."
What is our primary use case?
While the latest version is 10.8, our company is using 10.5U.
We use the solution for freight mode, sales and distribution, mostly in the warehouse, production department, finance, transportation and procurement.
How has it helped my organization?
When it comes to customization, the solution allows us to develop our own functionality in the system so that we do not have to worry about third-party applications. Infor is now coming out with the API.
As such, we can handle things both from mobile and other devices.
What is most valuable?
We like the recent customization features that Infor is providing, such as extensibility, which do not impact on version upgrades. This is the solution's best feature.
What needs improvement?
Infor is not very much into the market as of yet, which means that its products are not public to date and this precludes students' ability to learn about the Infor products on their own. This translates into a shortage of resources and available information on the internet concerning Infor products and it contrasts with the SAP, which does have training schools and manuals that are open to the public.
Only people who undergo training from the companies can learn about Infor products. There are not many people with whom I can confer in the event of an issue arising. The Infor community is not very big and only makes available a single platform. That's it.
There are many features that I would like to see included in future releases. One would concern a good casual integration. We are currently working on three or four things, the first one involving integration. This should be better. They have come up with the factory track.
I believe that within a few months or years they will come up with zero-time maintenance, something they are currently working on. An example would involve the cloud, on which they currently do maintenance on their own around once per month. When it came to our system, it took them six or twelve hours. The maintenance time needs to be faster.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Infor LN for the past four or five years, since 2016.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Stability is quite good.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
On-cloud scalability is very good and the scalability of the servers increases commensurate with the load.
Whether or not we will choose to increase the usage will depend on whether or not the organization grows in size, in which case we would.
How are customer service and support?
Infor is not very much into the market as of yet, which means that its products are not yet public and this precludes students learning about the Infor products on their own. This translates into a shortage of resources and information which is available on the internet about Infor products and contrasts with the SAP, which does have training schools and manuals that are open to the public.
For the moment, we resolve issues exclusively within our organization. However, should an issue arise we make reference to a consulting organization, something we have found to be helpful.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have only been with my organization for five years, so I cannot comment on whether it utilized another solution prior to Infor LN.
How was the initial setup?
As with any new product we acquire, we must first configure it before making use of it.
The length of deployment will depend on one's organization. If it contains thousands of users who are employing the solution, then deployment will take around a year.
The length will vary with the complexity of one's organization. There is a need to do gap analysis and customize the solution for the relevant department.
What about the implementation team?
The use of an integrator, reseller or consultant for the deployment will be dependent. In our current project, we are creating from on-premises to cloud deployment for Infor only.
In respect of the deployment and maintenance, every location has its own ERP team at the moment. For example, there is a key user and global team. I would estimate we are talking around eight or nine people.
What was our ROI?
We have definitely seen a return on our investment with the product.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price of the solution can vary. I would say that it is based on the number of users making use of the software, although I cannot state how this would relate to the prime or management side. There is also available the complete yearly subscription.
Additional costs would apply to the maintenance version upgrades.
What other advice do I have?
I work as an Infor customer in my current company.
The solution is deployed on-premises, but we are planning to move our system to the cloud.
Across the board, there are around 2,500 users making use of the solution in our organization.
I would advise others to read the manual before using the solution and gain the proper experience.
I rate Infor LN as a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Handles products with up to 2,500 components, making it valuable for streamlining complex business operations
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable feature is its ability to handle products with up to 2,500 components, making it valuable for streamlining complex business operations."
- "One area that could be improved in Omada Access Points is team communication."
What is our primary use case?
Infor LN is a highly versatile software that meets diverse business needs. We use it in project management, finance, manufacturing planning (MRP one and MRP two), vendor management, and complex product management. Companies like ours with manufacturing capabilities electronics, find it useful as it covers the entire project/product lifecycle, from OEM entry to end-of-life management.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is its ability to handle products with up to 2,500 components, making it valuable for streamlining complex business operations. Our company's problem was planning production while ensuring we had the resources we needed. We needed a flexible solution, and Infor LN was the perfect choice.
What needs improvement?
One area that could be improved in Omada Access Points is team communication. It is important because we use various collaboration systems like Outlook, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence. Integrating these systems more effectively would be great. A big system like Infor LN should have excellent tools for this, including better data linking and planning capabilities.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used Infor LN for six years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Infor LN is extremely stable. I would give it a ten out of ten for stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would give the scalability of the solution a ten out of ten. We have approximately 10,000 people using Infor LN.
How was the initial setup?
I would give the easiness of the initial setup an eight out of ten. It is fairly straightforward.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to people who are considering using Infor LN is to start by thoroughly listing and planning for all your needs in the next five years. Overall, I would rate the solution a ten out of ten.

Pros and Cons
- "The best feature of this solution is it comes as a complete bundle. The solution has effective project, document, and application management. Additionally, the collaboration is fantastic, it is well integrated, and can be customized."

What is our primary use case?
We are using Infor LN for operations and in the supply chain, and in sales.
What is most valuable?
The best feature of this solution is it comes as a complete bundle. The solution has effective project, document, and application management. Additionally, the collaboration is fantastic, it is well integrated, and can be customized.
What needs improvement?
The interface can be difficult sometimes. I need to apply a bar code system, such as business intelligence and user interface tools. The user has to be a technician sometimes to use it.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Infor LN for approximately one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable, we can add users if we want to expand.
To expand the solution I call my account manager and he can communicate with the license operations from Infor LN. In approximately 20 hours the increase would be done.
We have 120 users using the solution.
How are customer service and support?
The support is overall needs improvement.
How was the initial setup?
We did not have any problems with the implementation.
What about the implementation team?
The partner vendor is not very good. There is no one that can implement the solution here in the middle east, such as Egypt.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Infor LN is a free solution, and everything is included in the package, such as add-ons.
There is a maintenance fee of approximately 16%.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have evaluated SAP.
When you are working in SAP you need to buy another application called CRM and Service Cloud. However, with Infor LN, their package is fully complete, you do not need to purchase other parts.
What other advice do I have?
I would advise those companies that are outside the Middle East, to choose Infor LN. However, if the company is inside the Middle East, there are no partners that can implement Infor LN as a package. I would not recommend it.
I rate Infor LN a ten out of ten.
