I would like to see enhanced features in the dashboards. This would enhance the solution in the future, and is currently missing.

When selecting a vendor, we consider all of the necessary requirements, and how it can incorporate the current data.

The best feature is R integration. This uses predictions for medicine consumption.

I really appreciate Visual Insight because it is easy for end users and it breaks IT dependencies.

We have a small technical staff. If we give opportunities to our clients to develop their own reports and graphics, we can concentrate our efforts on increasing the quality of other reports that demand a little bit more knowledge and expertise.

We need to act in advance of situations. I would like to be able to:

• Gather information about how long the partner will take to bring us a product.
• Find out what our real consumption average will be against our supply for that item

This information would help us decide if we should wait until we reach the resupply point or if we should start the process immediately.

I have used this solution for five years.

I only encountered stability issues when using the enterprise manager.

The initial setup was easy.

It is not worthwhile if you have a small budget, although it is worth every penny.

We evaluated Pentaho and OBIEE.

Look for a solution that covers all enterprise areas, from the IT department to end-users, that will help you build a robust, star schema model.

I'm a system implementer, so I implement the system for customers. I implement whatever the customer needs at their site. It's generally all the BI information that they have in the data warehouse.

Its performance is very good.

Users are getting their reports when they need them.

The whole Repository side of things is beneficial because you develop it once, and you can use it anywhere, in the Enterprise grade.

If you compare it with Power BI with the DAX language, it would be great to put that into MicroStrategy.

It's pretty stable.

The choice was political: IBM Cognos against MicroStrategy, and due to IBM internal mechanisms.

My criteria for selecting a vendor are, first, that the application software works, and secondly, the support - and local support as well.

I was involved in the initial setup and it's pretty complex, but it's very powerful once it's set up.

Pricing, in general, is high. With Power BI, you get mobile with the license, whereas with MicroStrategy, you have to purchase mobile for extra.

If you're looking for enterprise BI, go for MicroStrategy.

I would give the tool an eight out of 10. The local office would get a two out of 10. But the tool itself is just a good enterprise-grade tool.

Caching and report bursting, as it offers the phenomenal ways to access the info at a blazing speed.

With this, we have been able to provide consistent reporting with ease, after the efforts put in the initial schema setup.

Visual Insight, as I see, has improved a lot but it still lacks the analytics capability of other tools such as Tableau.

I have used it for seven years.

I previously used SAP BO, but it was moving here and there between companies and becoming a bit too much to handle.

Pricing is bit less transparent and high.

It takes a while to set up properly to reap the benefits fully, so don’t rush up.

It helps to provide answers quickly for critical business questions. It has reduced our time spent on data entry and manipulation and can identify areas for cost cutting.

The setup is quite complex and requires extra configurations.

We've used it for two years.

It has a complex set-up. It requires configuration of its Intelligence Server and Metadata.

I have implemented it for different clients.

If you are having small business set-up then you have to go for QlikView, else MicroStrategy is more stable for big organizations.

I really value that MicroStrategy is a complete suite built to enable organizations to quickly deploy sophisticated analytical and security applications. It has a very good balance between features, usability, and pricing options.

It enables you to build decision support systems. MicroStrategy has improved the decision-making process through Enterprise Reports with automated and corporate information management.

Analysis self-service could be improved.

I have used this product for six years.

I did not encounter any stability issues. There were just some minor bugs that were fixed by the manufacturer in their regular patches.

If you really need these features, it is an excellent product with a very good price. Sometimes you do not need much functionality and then other alternatives at a lower price might be a better option.

In our company, we help our clients identify the option that best suits their needs. We then develop/implement the data warehouse, ETL process, data integration, and visualizations.

Keep in mind your global and corporate design. It is best to start with a specific, small, and well-defined area.

We mostly do reporting for the business units. It is performing very well.

The data governance leads people to trust the data that they have, and they know where to get it.

In 2018, we are planning to use the semantic layer. We are also planning to look at investing in mobile analytics.

The data governance is the most important thing.

I have not seen the data-wrangling capabilities in 10.10. If that is not good, then that. Then, it needs better visualizations.

Most important criteria when selecting a vendor: Going forward, it will be integration with other platforms, like Salesforce and Hadoop.
