The solution's reporting part is not good and needs more development. We get unpredictable errors when we use it. OIC needs to be developed because it is limited. For example, you can't make huge data migrations and data integrations with it. It is hard to make a report because you can't use an SQL browser. All the other third-party products are not free, and you need to pay for them. Using Oracle's internal reporting solution for running SQL statements is a waste of time.
I don't have sufficient experience with Oracle Cloud to be able to comment on the areas where improvements are required. Oracle Cloud is not a user-friendly tool. From an improvement perspective, I want Oracle Cloud to be more user-friendly.

We faced issues building a disaster recovery site. Oracle support could be better; we had cases where certain regions experienced specific issues and received little help from Oracle. Sometimes when we're doing a cloud migration, we get generic error messages, which makes it challenging to figure out the issue. Relevant and easy-to-interpret log messages would make finding and resolving issues easier. Recently, Oracle said they were facing an issue with malware and that we needed to apply the latest security vulnerability patch. Our question is, if Oracle Cloud has a lot of security at the network level, how does malware get into the system? They also say Linux is supposed to be unbreakable, so we have some security concerns. We discovered an issue in our private cloud where a process was consuming too much CPU, and Oracle told us it was due to a malware attack. The security needs to be better.
The feature I think should be improved is the option to rename the machines. Sometimes it happens that I can rename something like VCM and other options. When this happens, sometimes I can't remember the search and I don't like that.
The Oracle Cloud platform remains complex, and despite the abundance of resources available, significant challenges can still arise during the migration process from a legacy or on-premise system. Conversely, smaller companies with less complicated systems, such as those with a two million budget, can migrate more easily.
Oracle Gen2 cloud has developed and matured at a great pace and is showing to be stable and mature. The cloud pricing means the old reputation of Oracle licensing is long gone. A couple of the services would benefit from reviewing to make it more attractive for adoption.
Support for remaining true to CNCF for development tech is refreshing and means you’re less likely to get locked into OCI for development.
A few of the services would benefit from better documentation and clarity for how DR and unhappy paths are handled.
Certain development capabilities could be beefed up. For example, there is support for Container Registries. There are some product gaps around the CI/CD space - which perhaps could be best addressed through templating the open-source tools such as Nexus.
Windows worker nodes are not yet available in the Kubernetes space.

What I'd like to see from Oracle Cloud is an option for the customer to have a single portal to manage and monitor not just Oracle Cloud, but some of the on-premise products in the hybrid scenario as well. If it can be shipped out as an out-of-the-box solution, that would be wonderful. It's not so easy, but for a company like Oracle, it shouldn't be a problem. Many customers go through a lot of effort and burn money to achieve this, so it's an opportunity for Oracle to provide it for customers looking for this type of solution.

Since it is on the cloud, you often have to deal with network issues. Speed can be an issue as well. It does require some training in order to be able to use it effectively.

Oracle Cloud could be improved with better third-party integrations. In addition, Oracle EBS has more reporting tools than other software, and more of these should be available in Oracle Cloud. There should also be more training, guidance, and support documentation available for users, as we need to pay additional costs for training at the moment.
Oracle Cloud's price is very high. Overall, Oracle Cloud is doing everything I need it to. I have not had any issues with the application, deployment, and implementation. It is very suitable for us, especially considering our needs. Other than the price, I do not see where any further changes could be made.

The solution needs to improve the creation process for server fonts and the usability and scripting methodology. There's a lot of room for improvement so far. Technical support is pretty good, however, it could be improved upon. The solution could always be less expensive. If the product could add HSM services to the infrastructure service, that could make it better.

The internal training program has to be exchanged with the customers more. This is something that has already been initiated. The user interface could be improved and be further simplified. Technical support is good but they could be better. In the next release, I would like to see more automation.
The configuration through the cloud is complicated. It's not straightforward. With the on-premises version, FTP, P2P, or any adaptors were directly configurable. Now, with the Cloud, we have to make some changes in the settings and configuration. It is not scalable. The support is average, they could be better.
So far, I do not have ant problems with the product. But I think that Oracle — especially for people in Africa — can look at the issues with subscriptions. They could make it so that people are able to have a better experience in trying out the product as that might lead to more adoption. Maybe they could look at reducing the price of the subscription because most of us are not able to afford it at the current level. The price in the subscription, for those who may want to subscribe to the cloud as a customer, keeps those potential customers from even considering it as a solution. Some of us are struggling a bit.

The global coverage in terms of the number of regions that are supported is very limited. They should really consider improving the availability of this product in more locations. This would help customers to better serve their own clients across different regions. For example, I do not have a local region for coverage in Dubai. My understanding is that it will be coming within the next six months, but there are many other cities that don't have it locally available. Customers with data residency laws need to have their data stored locally, so better coverage is important. Compared to providers like AWS or Azure, they do not have a large portfolio of services such as artificial intelligence, IoT, or blockchain. They offer some basic services but the choice is not as rich as other cloud providers.

Improvements can be made with respect to flexibility in the licensing model. The deployment should be simpler to do. The integration tools that they offer are quite complex to use. It would be nice if integration with the SAS tools were a bit easier for end-users. There is no user-friendly interface to navigate for this. If you look at a competing product like Salesforce, it's quite easy to write your own rules. They're not strictly speaking integrations, but it's easy to do your own configuration on new fields and relationships with fields for certain other parts of the system. With Oracle, it is a lot harder to do.

The networking is in need of improvement. The price of this solution can definitely be improved. This service is very specific to Oracle and we cannot have other types of workloads on Oracle Cloud. We need to have a multi-cloud solution because for Oracle products we use Oracle Cloud, but for other products, we need to use other clouds. If the option to run other workloads were available, such as those by Microsoft, then this would be an added advantage to the Oracle footprint.

The interface should be more user-friendly. Compared to other cloud environments, it's not as good. It should be implemented better from Passport. It should have a better link to the cloud to communicate more effectively. The solution should integrate better with other tools and different vendors. I don't know of any additional features that I would like to see added to the solution.

One of the problems with this solution is that the person who procures it for the organization becomes a primary owner of the cloud infrastructure, despite not being a technical person. It is the IT people who will be doing the actual work, and Oracle is not able to map it. This is an operational hassle for customers and it has to be cleaned up. Simple provisioning is fine, but when it comes to complex provisioning, Oracle Cloud is not quick compared to competing solutions. Support from Oracle for this solution needs to improve. Simplifying the cloud management console would be really valuable for small and large customers alike. The next thing that needs to happen from Oracle is that they quickly expand data centers across different regions. This should happen at the very earliest time possible.

Even though the price was not bad for our purposes, I think Oracle should open up their software service more to customers by bringing the pricing down for the product. The cost may be a bit high for many potential users. One feature I also think I would like to see is better portability of the VMware environment into the Oracle Cloud. I think the integration process should be made more simple. We use vSphere and it was not as easy as it should have been.
I would like to have identity access management. If someone is accessing any application, I should know about it. I think Oracle does have that feature, but with Amazon all the roles are privileged. With Oracle, you have to create your own roles and it is more complex.
Cloud services where you need them
Your need for sovereignty, compliance, and location-specific performance should not limit your access to the latest cloud innovations. OCI gives you access to a full portfolio of cloud services wherever you need them. With a wide range of cloud options, including on-premises, dedicated Cloud@Customer, hybrid, multicloud solutions such as Oracle Database Service for Microsoft Azure, or public cloud, OCI’s distributed cloud portfolio—available across regions...

The solution needs improvement in support, performance, and features.
The tool should provide more options like other cloud services. Also, it should improve scalability with the free version.
