OpsBridge is a scalable, integrated solution to monitoring geo-diverse, very large infrastructures and applications on a worldwide scale.

OpsBridge has good event correlation facilities and root-cause identification algorithms. This can reduce the number of alerts that an operator sees, potentially improving operator efficiency and reducing the "cost-per-alert".

To achieve this though OpsBridge depends on accurate topology mapping, i.e. it needs to understand the dynamic relationships between items being monitored. Maintaining this can demand additional software.

As owners of the Vertica database, MicroFocus can exploit this technology to improve the handling of the vast amounts of monitoring data that its enterprise customers generate.

I have been working with OpenText Operations Bridge as a customer. It covers infrastructure monitoring, database monitoring, application monitoring, and other monitoring metrics directly for databases, OpenShift, and other platforms like Webex and IIS. Additionally, it offers server automation, which can support compliances, vulnerabilities, and various automation tools.

The data lake is a very powerful feature within OpenText Operations Bridge. It can integrate with any BI tool to collect AI data and perform a variety of functions. It offers hybrid compatibility and supports desktop application customization and cloud integration. 

Another essential capability is server automation, which became significantly easier with the software appliance for deployment. This solution also provides role-based access that enhances data privacy and security.

We primarily used it for monitoring. We used the desk portal that you have for IT support. We also installed the OBi and the BBD to do a lot of the analytics and to prevent difficulties within the BBD dashboard.

The most valuable feature of the solution depends on a few factors. Sometimes if a user is working with, for example, Norton systems, and uses the consoles or monitoring desk ports, if they work with the system feed, they can present a performance report. It's very useful because users can do quite a bit of analytics just from that.

The core manager also allows for the creation of a custom dashboard, and users can use the cache from the dashboard which can include images. You can import the images to the custom dashboard and create basically whatever you want or need.

I used this solution as an umbrella for many different types of monitoring systems. It provided various tools for application performance management models and also for user experience models, monitoring business processes, and many other activities.

It provided a comprehensive overview and good understanding of the state of business processes within the organization.

My company uses Micro Focus Operations Bridge for APM, monitoring on-premise and cloud infrastructure, including other infrastructure components.

Micro Focus Operations Bridge is a good solution for my company. What's most valuable is that it's a universal system that lets you monitor infrastructure and application services and correlate and display data for IT and other businesses.

I also find the Micro Focus Operations Bridge dashboard valuable, including its instrument analysis and anomaly control features that help indicate root causes and problems with your infrastructure.

We are using NNMI, UCMDB, SMACS, and OBM. Operations Bridge is being used between Sfax and OBM to forward all the events to Smacks for ticket creation and SLA management. NNMI is used from an operations perspective to move forward with events.

The most valuable aspect of Operations Bridge for us is its integration capabilities. It acts as an integrating tool, and we primarily use it for that purpose rather than any other effort. Although we haven't yet leveraged its automation capabilities, when applied from an NNMI perspective, it hasn't worked as expected.

We use it for event correlation as the manager of infrastructure-consuming applications and of network events. This is the first time that Vodafone has consolidated all tiers of service delivery. We now have a consolidated dashboard that shows availability and performance across key business services. The value is cost optimization, scalability, and efficiencies. We're able to transform multiple monitoring teams into one working off one console instead of 3, 4, 5, and 6. We have all the data in one place.

We’re now transforming three teams into one, and others will follow in the coming years.
