A very good backup & recovery solution with a whole bunch of features
Valuable Features:
Very easy to restore backups down to the item level depending on what you are backing up. We have used Acronis Backup and Recovery for around 4 years backing up our Datacentre servers and individual application servers such as Exchange, Sharepoint and SQL. Acronis Backup and Recovery has a simple interface that allows administrators to quickly achieve basic backup tasks and restoration. Administration only becomes difficult when configuring complex backup tasks.
Room for Improvement:
Sometimes backups become corrupted and can not be access via the Recovery Console, You can send the backups too Acronis support (Could take months depending on the size of the backup) and they will try to recover the data, however rarely do.
Installation is resource hungry.
Sometimes configuration can become too confusing. Before deploying Acronis we did test multiple backup solutions and did quickly realised that - we will be using Acronis as it provides all the features that we needed.
Other Advice:
I do recommend using Acronis Backup and Recovery for a small business.

Reliable, scalable, and easy installation with detailed documentation
Pros and Cons
- "For my first experience, it is the best software for backups, especially for a five-system backup."
- "The solution could improve by providing more database backup features and have better integration with many different types of databases. We cannot implement it in all of our infrastructures."
What is our primary use case?
We installed the Acronis Backup agents on the user's computer stations that require backups. We then created a schedule and a backup policy. Additionally, we deployed Acronis Backup on the Windows Server. I connected with the local discs of the server, which will be the targets of the backups.
What is most valuable?

Universal restore has made moving systems to dissimilar hardware less difficult.
What is most valuable?
Mounting .tibs, Live Boot Restore, and Universal Restore:
- Being able to open and mount .tib images allows for easy restoring of files.
- Live boot DVD allows for easy restore of entire system in a catastrophic hard drive failure without having to rebuild OS from scratch and then installing programs and restoring data. (I highly recommend performing at least one test restore to a hard drive of similar size, to the boot drive being imaged, to be sure images can be restored successfully).
- Universal Restore allows for moving of systems to new and dissimilar computer hardware. All are valuable and reliable with Acronis Backup 11.7.50220.
How has it helped my organization?
Universal Restore has made moving systems to dissimilar hardware less difficult.
What needs improvement?
Live thumb drive boot process does not work well and support for it is lacking.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
No.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
No.
How are customer service and technical support?
Support for issues other than the bootable thumb drive issue have been good.

I used Backup Exec and Ghost. I liked the imaging aspect of Ghost, but found Acronis Backup got much better over the years.
How was the initial setup?
Setup is fairly straightforward.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The licensing cost for Acronis Backup Workstation is fair.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have not used other products since moving to Acronis Backup.
What other advice do I have?
For businesses that collect customer data, I would not use a cloud solution. Images that can be synced to an external hard drive that can be stored offsite is the only solution I recommend.

Overall a very good backup software
Valuable Features:
It is one of my favorite backup software. Its much faster and reliable than the other softwares that i have tried. Its earlier versions were having problem backing up x64 bit structure but later versions are doing fine.
Room for Improvement:
Not much really. The only problem that i face while using this software is that the backup taken using its older versions do at times create problem while being restored with new versions. So what i believe is that there is something missing between different versions which cause(occasionally) the later versions not to restore the images taken by the earlier versions.
Disclosure: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
I completely agree with a4illusionist on this backup solution. It is the backup cloud service solution I use to store our company information that is not too sensitive. Why spend on a backup solution when there is a great option that is cost effective? A good way to save the company some money even if not much!
