It hasn't helped us or done anything to change what we do here. We use it to back up our own computers, just in case they break, so we can recover them quickly.

What needs improvement?
Right now I'm using Acronis 2016, and it's a lot harder to do restore. If you're using one computer, sometimes you want to just back up an external hard drive. It is harder to use than the previous ones I've used.
I would like to get some RAID compatibility and maybe UEFI. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. If you could get those things working perfect, that'd be great.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
So far, we have not had any stability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We only use one program per computer. We don't usually scale up and we're fine with that.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support was mixed. We were partnered with Acronis and when I would call, it was pretty good. Sometimes it seemed like they could have been better. I would rate them close to a 10/10, but they are not there yet.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We've used Norton. I forgot name of the exact product, but it was one of their solutions. We also used something else. We tried Acronis and it was easy to use and it worked. That's why we switched. Since then, it's been Acronis.
How was the initial setup?
The setup was straightforward.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We did not evaluate other options. We were using older solutions and we had problems with them. So we tried Acronis and it worked.

What other advice do I have?
I'd say test it out. It's so easy to use.

It takes long to backup data using Acronis and Acronis doesn't really help much when it becomes complex.
What is most valuable?
I prefer the features of cloning hard-disk to hard-disk. Also I like the backup function in the old version of Acronis which is more friendly than the new one which is more complicated and unfriendly to use.
How has it helped my organization?
Acronis helps to backup data on a server and also to manage some cloning from 1 PC to another using the method. Normally I use Norton Ghost to do the clone however since I used the Acronis true image 2013 I found it to be very useful and not time consuming.
What needs improvement?
It takes a long to backup data using Acronis backup and recovery v11 and I found Acronis support not really helpful as they always suggest to update the software instead of solving the issue with the current version. I would prefer if Acronis would look into their old version and try to enhance it, rather than use new functions on the new version, I would rather stick with the older version.
For how long have I used the solution?
3 years.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
Yes
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Yes
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Yes
How are customer service and technical support?
Customer Service:
6 out 10
Technical Support:6 out 10
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Yes because I am looking for something easier to use and time conservation is very important in any organization re: backup.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward however some companies prefer to do customization, which makes it complex and Acronis does not really help much when it becomes complex, especially for backup into the storage or NAS.
What about the implementation team?
In-house and vendor team (about 3 out 10).
What was our ROI?
5 years.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Original setup is costly and for some companies, they will think whether they should implement using Acronis or not.
What other advice do I have?
I think you need to look into business requirement especially when implementing the backup system and make sure the backup software that you buy is 100% fully capable and 100% fully supportive.

Good product however it's difficult to use on Linux.
What is most valuable?
Imaging operating systems and restoring on different hardware.
How has it helped my organization?
This product gave us two major features :
- Imaging allowed us to create clones from the production server with ultimate speed.
- Protection against server failures with ability to restore on different hardware.
What needs improvement?
The application Linux interface and the error reporting as it's very ambiguous
For how long have I used the solution?
3 Years
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
No, deployment is not that complicated.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Yes, especially in the restore, a simple update for the software messed up the whole setup.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
No, with proper licensing no issues.
How are customer service and technical support?
Customer Service:
On a scale from 1-5 (1=worst, 5=best), they are 2. The customer service we receive is from Acronis's partner in Saudi Arabia.
Technical Support:On a scale from 1-5 (1=worst, 5=best), they are 2. They don't have a free toll number, their web based case support wasn't good and most annoying every time you I had to call I have to go through the first line of support and answer the same questions and apply the same procedure.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We already having another solution which produces the same result for Windows. But, for Linux this software was the only one we knew about that supported the version of OS we had.
How was the initial setup?
Yes, straight forward with clear instructions.
What about the implementation team?
In-house team.
What was our ROI?
Protection of the production environment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Excluding the licensing fees, we used a virtual server to install the management console and agents didn't require that much of resource so we didn't need to upgrade any specs on the protected systems. Also, the images were stored on already existing storage. So, basically except the man hours spent on working with software there were no real investment in the setup.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
No, because of OS compatibility it was the only one we knew about.
What other advice do I have?
The product is good but using it on Linux is a bit difficult.
I would recommend it to any company that wants to implement a low cost solution.

What needs improvement?
The software requires a number of network ports to be open between the management machine and the clients and backup devices. It would be good to eliminate the SMB port requirement between the management machine and the backup device.
It would also be helpful to reduce the number of required ports between the clients and the management machine to just one incoming and/or outgoing port.
Bare metal recovery of a machine from backup requires hard drive drivers to be manually loaded. It would be helpful if the various hard drive drivers were included in the recovery boot media.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
No.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
No.
How are customer service and technical support?
Technical support has been excellent.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We switched to Acronis Backup because it allows us to easily manage and monitor our backups.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was straightforward. The management interface is intuitive.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There are cheaper backup solutions around, but they are not as straightforward to set up and to use and lack some of the features of this product. By researching pricing for the same product on Google, we were able to negotiate a good deal.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We did evaluate other products and Acronis Backup Standard best met our needs, subject to our budget constraints.
What other advice do I have?
This is a great product. When evaluating different products it is important to test the recovery from backup. Acronis provided better recovery from backup options than some other products that we evaluated.

It provided us with a fast and reliable way to recover a complex operating system. It failed several times, when we tried to take an image from the operating system and restore it.
How has it helped my organization?
It provided us with a fast and reliable way to recover a complex operating system, from one server to another so as to increase the business continuity.
What is most valuable?
Imaging of the operating system is the most valuable feature. We were performing an in-house upgrade of some critical servers, we wanted a recovery plan to go back to the operating status of the server.

What needs improvement?
Actually, the version I used is quite old, so at that time it needed a lot of improvements. However, I didn't try the latest version, so I can't have a clear idea about it.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We ran a scenario where we took an image from an operation system and then, we attempted to restore it; it worked perfectly. After a while, we attempted to run the same scenario with the same versions and the same servers, it failed several times, before finally succeeding with the help of their support.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
There were no scalability issues.
How are customer service and technical support?
The technical support is less than average.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Previously, I was using Symantec System Recovery.
How was the initial setup?
The setup was straightforward, i.e., one standalone installation on one server connected to one iSCSI drive to store the image.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Their prices are average.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
According to the compatibility matrix of the operating system, we had this product as it was the only available product included with it.

Works
Version 12.5 Only Has A Web Interface However It Deploys Quickly From USB
What is most valuable?
Full image backup and fast image deployment from USB.
How has it helped my organization?
No.
What needs improvement?
Version 11.7 has problems with the database, some tasks need to be cleared by special scripts. Version 12.5 only has a web interface which is absolutely unacceptable for this type of product.

Periodically, for the last 15 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
No.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Not yet.
How are customer service and technical support?
Fast, responsive, overall good.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
As long as Acronis continues to support Win XP, I will use Acronis.
How was the initial setup?
There was some difficulty setting up administrative groups and users, but that was related to the operating system, not the product.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I would advise getting the extended technical support which is independent of the licences.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Veaam. I found its usefulness to be very limited, very dependent on the operating system.
What other advice do I have?
Do backups on a regular basis.
