I use Bizagi for modeling my own processes as well as teaching others business process modeling. I teach business process modeling at workshops. I teach my students how they can use this solution to model their processes.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Sometimes it requests me to update Bizagi and it takes some time working on it. It can be a challenge to update it when I don't have internet access.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I think the solution is scalable, but I haven't needed to scale.
How are customer service and support?
I have not contacted technical support, but I saw Bizagi's website and I think that they would be great.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously worked with Microsoft Visio, but I think that Bizagi outperforms it. I am also trying to learn how to work with ProcessMaker.
I think the main competitive advantage of Bizagi is its user-friendly environment that allows you to drag and drop BPMN elements on its surface. Its simulation abilities are also great, but I think that they can be improved because some elements of BPMN and are not supported in the current version. I recently heard that Bizagi added performance evaluation or assessment and I know I'm not working with it yet.
How was the initial setup?
It's easy to set up. I think it took less than an hour to deploy. I don't remember exactly, but I think that it was less than one hour.
I proposed Bizagi to my team because I'm a business process management consultant. My entire team, which is more than ten people, all installed and set up Bizagi on their computers.
As a process management consultant for different organizations, some of them have more users. Currently, we are working with an organization of over 100 people and we recommended Bizagi to them.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I think that its price is reasonable.
What other advice do I have?
I would absolutely recommend Bizagi for many people. I would rate it as eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Graduate Trainee at a computer software company with 51-200 employees
A low-code business process modeling and automation platform with a powerful business process management engine
Pros and Cons
- "I like the business process management engine. It's very detailed, and you can probably map any of the corporate workflow processes you come across in it compared to some of the other solutions out there. I can probably say that it has very good support to work in tandem with other RP solutions in the market. The software is still very user-friendly and integral, and they have pretty good online resources. The automation feature is pretty good, so is the integration feature."
- "Cloud support for their process mapping tool could be better. To map all your processes in any way and call your data, you need to download their on-premise setup or their desktop setup. Cloud support for process mapping is limited, and they should work on that."
What is our primary use case?
Bizagi is a very powerful business process management engine. I think it's one of the better solutions out there. You can take very niche processes and map them completely using the Bizagi engine. Bizagi is predominantly a BPM engine.
What is most valuable?

For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Bizagi for about two weeks.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I'm not sure I can comment on stability just yet, but I did have an okay experience. I didn't have any issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's definitely a scalable solution.
What about the implementation team?
I did install Bizagi in my system, and that's how I tested it out. The file itself was around one and a half GB, and that's more than what you typically use for the cloud and cloud stations. It probably took me about half an hour to install and deploy this solution.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Some solutions are completely free. One would be the business process diagramming tool, the server beneath it, and the automation tool. You don't need to pay to map the business process, but you would need to when you want to execute any of the commands. So, basically, they lure you in with a free ride, and when you want to scale the solution, you'll have to pay for it.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend this solution to new users depending on the use case. If you want it to manage processes that involve a lot of stakeholders, a lot of departments, and a lot of fragmented pieces of data, then I would definitely recommend Bizagi.
On a scale from one to ten, I would give Bizagi a nine.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

IT Consultant and Adviser at Eximius Medical Admministration Solutions
We tested TIBCO and others but chose Bizagi because nothing comes close in terms of usability and resource requirements
What is most valuable?
- The user interface and ease of use as compared to some of the other products I have tried.
- The ability to document the entire process within the same diagram and then generate documents in Word.
- The ability to publish on the web has become extremely useful in publishing the processes for transparency.
- The ability to perform model simulations is a great help.
- Now, using all the features, been able to develop system processes and activity diagrams for technology developer in any area (network, database etc.)
- "Most of all, Bizagi listens to it's customers!" Is what i said before but now i am not sure already.
- I use the picture artifact to create symbols to be placed on the diagrams and that improves the readability with my clients
How has it helped my organization?
- I developed a complete Project Management Framework for the company's use which has been published for policy adoption by all Project Managers.
- I developed and published a procurement governance framework which is extensively used in procurement of products and services for clients.
- In addition the two above, we are now using Bizagi Modeller for defining system processes and activity diagrams similar but better than UML. We are able generate full documentation on these processes for the technicians. The techies are really happy with this.
What needs improvement?
- Previously I rated the product with 10 but now i am down grading it to 8.
- The system does not work well in Windows 8 (Full version) on tablet PCs. I had raised this issue and was told that it will not display the diagrams effectively due to the display drivers. Urgent attention is required as we do not carry laptops. Besides, the use of tablets has become very pervasive these days. This one was raised long ago and not addressed but i will drop it as tablet PCs have disappeared.
- The ability to automatically re-size the elements based on the element text descriptions. This has not been done. This one has become a pain in the neck.
- The text for notations always get misaligned and tangled with flow lines. This is especially worse when you want type "Yes" or "No" on the flow lines.
- Frequently the alignment of elements gets disorganized when a group is added. Worse is when a group is deleted it does not give us the option to choose if we want to delete the elements too but, instead, deletes them anyway. I use this feature to defines module packages for my IT Developers. Sigh, number of times i had to redo to get rid of the group.
- The most irritating part is the licensing of the logo feature. When i deinstall on one PC and then reinstall in the same (after a hard disk crash) PC the license cannot be applied again and the have to run to the techies to reset things. They dont seem friendly either. They should provide a feature to deactivate the license and activate it again, just like McAfee and Blumentals.
- In the recent version, i just found out that export/Import from Visio requires the installed version of Visio software. Now how many of us have Visio on our PCs? Which would be lying idle most of the time. They need to fix this one urgently.
- I use the graph artifact extensively but I am hoping this will be improved to include connectors points, similar to annotations. Would really love that.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Bizagi Modeller for over 11 years now.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
We have not used the Bizagi process engine yet. We will be testing it soon. I did test much of it as Joget seemed a much a better and easier option. I may consider really looking into the Suite only if there is BRE (Business Rules Engine) in there.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
With Bizagi, initial loading is extremely slow.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I did not have this issue as i believe in breaking work into smaller related units.
How are customer service and technical support?
Customer Service:
Good, effective, prompt and responsive but sometimes seem to get irritated.
Refer to the one above
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We used Bonita and still use Bonita Engine but may want to move to Joget for simplicity.
How was the initial setup?
We're only using only the Bizagi modeler, it was very simple and one-click. The engine may not be as simple but I prefer it simple and easy with a comprehensive user guide.Trying Joget now.
What about the implementation team?
We implemented through an in-house team. No vendor team exists in Malaysia.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We're currently using the free modeler. Our advise is that avoid the complicated ones unless there is an inbuilt BRE in there. Most of them seem to insist that we must know Java.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We tried and tested a few such as TIBCO, Bonitasoft and Joget. Currently using Bonita but soon dropping it for Joget for simplicity.
What other advice do I have?
We incorporated Bizagi as requirements in the Request for Proposals but reversed and decided on Joget for simplicity and price. With the downturn in economy and high competition, businesses want quick implementation, less headache and they are tired of the phrase "not so easy to change" from techies.
Frankly, any software is of no real good value if it has to be heavily supported by programming knowledge and techies. With Bizagi and others, the insistence on knowing Java or dot.net is making the usefulness useless. I am yet to see one that has a full embedded business rule engine that is business user friendly. Its a disappointing to call these software as business process and rules components when no business user can actually get to install, customize and use it. This is the same case with software related to Customer Relation Management - such as SuiteCRM and ESPOCRM.

We did, and we switched due to the ease of implementation and technical learning.
How was the initial setup?
It was both straightforward and complex.
What about the implementation team?
We implemented with in-house staff who became experts in the solution. We are now offering design services to our clients, using Bizagi BPM Suite, coupled with our consulting BPM.
What was our ROI?
- On the sale of licenses: 20%
- On consulting services generated from product use: 100%
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The initial cost was zero. For maintenance, approximately $3,000/year.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
- Intalio
- Oracle
- AuraPortal

- IBM
What other advice do I have?
It is a beautifully finished product and provides an excellent cost-benefit. It solves almost all process automation needs. We are delighted with Bizagi BPM Suite and chose to act exclusively with this solution in our consulting business and BPM projects. We have achieved a great receptivity of the product our customers, and became business partners after our implementation experience and training of a in-house technical team.

Head of Business Improvement with 501-1,000 employees
Bizagi has been extremely valuable for implementing and communicating business process improvements.
We’ve been using Bizagi for four years now; we switched from Visio because of their poor support for BPMN. Before switching to Bizagi, we had considered several other solutions, like TIBCO and Bonita, but felt Bizagi was the best – the fact that it’s free was a big plus too.
On a scale from 1-5 (1=worst, 5=best), I would give Bizagi a 5. I find the following features to be the most valuable:
- Compatibility with BPMN.
- Microsoft-style design, so that the look and feel are immediately familiar to MS Office users.
- Ease of use.
- Ability to publish to web pages, especially with latest enhancements around search and dragging of models.
- Ability to link symbols to documents, URLs, etc.
- Focus on collaboration
In the four years that our organisation has been using Bizagi, I’d say that it has significantly improved the way our organization functions due to the product’s ability to draw the as-is and to-be processes that we analyse and implement – this has allowed us to both standardise the way we capture and document our processes, and become more effective in implementing and communicating business process improvements.
There are several improvements that could be made with regard to functionality, but these are just minor and don’t impact our productivity on the daily basis and the Bizagi support team is already informed and working to address these.
Initially, setup was very simple (and free) and we implemented the solution in-house, but when we wanted to switch to centrally controlled roll-out we encountered the problem that you cannot run a standard Microsoft silent installation via SCCM server, which makes it difficult for us to maintain the versions installed. One of our IT people has had several email exchanges with Bizagi technical people, but this one remains unresolved.
In terms of technical support, I’d say the service is average – when we post items on the support forum it can take some time before there’s any response. However, as this is a free product, we can’t complain.
If others were to implement this solution, I’d recommend the following:
- If you want to install Bizagi for a number of users and maintain it centrally, do a full test first in case you encounter the same issues we did.
- Make sure users have some knowledge of BPMN.
- Definitely encourage new users to use the excellent online training materials and resources Bizagi provides.
Overall we feel Bizagi has had a significant and positive impact on our organisation – not only improving the standards of process modelling and documentation, but also raising the profile of process modelling as a tool for business improvement. The application is easy to use and highly functional, and one that we have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Project Manager at a tech vendor with 51-200 employees
Easy configuration, and integrates well with their widgets
Pros and Cons
- "I like the integration part, and I also like how they use the database, such as the data when they implement all the data side, and how you can easily integrate it with their widgets."
- "The gateway through which it connects with other vendors, specifically RPA vendors, is one aspect that could be improved."
What is our primary use case?
This is not for my company because I am a consultant who implements VPNs. We're putting it in place for another company.
What is most valuable?
I like the integration part, and I also like how they use the database, such as the data when they implement all the data side, and how you can easily integrate it with their widgets.
What needs improvement?
Their multi-production is a little complicated, despite the fact that they now have Microdeployment. They have big versioning and small versioning, with the small one being the one that doesn't work very well. That is where I think it could be improved.
The gateway through which it connects with other vendors, specifically RPA vendors, is one aspect that could be improved.
There's a lot of analytics going on, and everything revolves around data. I believe it could be improved or have a way to improve the reporting or create a dashboard so that you can make decisions right there without having to rely on a third-party modeler. Also, improve the simulator that they have so that you can collect more data with the simulation tool.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been dealing with Bizagi for three years.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have experience with Bizagi, ProcessMaker, and AuraPortal. These are the VPN solutions that I am currently using.
How was the initial setup?
The configuration is simple, but the ingesting is not that simple. It requires some knowledge. There could be a happy medium there. It's not so simple, or complex if you know the integration that you are using.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I was performing some comparisons between VPN vendors.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Bizagi an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

I would rate Bizagi an eight out of ten.

Accessible user manuals, plenty of tools, and nice user interface
Pros and Cons

- "The solution is a bit heavy on resources and has slowed down my computer."
What is most valuable?
The interface, design, and accessible user manuals to help get started using the solution are valuable features in Bizagi.
What needs improvement?
The solution is a bit heavy on resources and has slowed down my computer.
I would like to see in the future more organized features. We have all the tools needed but it would be a benefit to hide some elements to simplify things.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution for two days.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have previously used Aris and this solution is much better. In Aris, it is more complex with a lot more tools to work with and is more professional but it is difficult to learn.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Bizagi a nine out of ten.
