Consistent threat hunting and anomaly detection deliver valuable insights for network security management
In terms of improvement for Darktrace, pricing is the main concern. Pricing bothers me and this is one of the major factors when choosing a solution. When we get feedback from customers, that's the only felt need. When we factor in Darktrace, we do it only limited. We put it on where the perimeters and connections are, but still, some gray areas are left out, especially if we have multiple branches. We need Darktrace on each branch to get the data out, and I suggest having some kind of a centralized product that gets data from multiple sources to aggregate and provide the data.

Stable, scalable, and can be deployed on both cloud and on-premises
We usually need the solution to have extra protection against data breaches, as we have seen with our customers. The solution is deployed on the public cloud The solution works both outside and on-premises of the company, thus preventing secondary breaches from reaching the company's data. The…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Ability to see events and exactly what traffic or website the device had tried to connect to that raised the alert or issue."
"The most valuable feature is that it works autonomously."
"The product is extremely stable and mature."
"The ability to detect activity on the network is very useful to us. Even if it's not necessarily an illegal activity, if it is abnormal activity, it is able to detect it and notify us."
"The most valuable feature is the alerts. The alerts are meaningful. The event rolls up into meaningful and actionable alerts rather than just being noise."
"Darktrace's most valuable features are that it understands the network environment and is able to trace the traffic and alert on anomalies."
"It provides a comprehensive, detailed view of network activity and whatever is happening inside it."
"Because of all it does, Darktrace is a very good solution, and it doesn't take a lot of time to implement and to get results."
"The solution works both outside and on-premises of the company, thus preventing secondary breaches from reaching the company's data."

Cons

"Darktrace does not have any capabilities to configure."
"The cost of the solution is expensive for smaller businesses."
"It can have more integration with orchestration or event management solutions."
"One thing that I would like to look at going forward is to have a fully automated network infrastructure that is monitored automatically real-time, and that gives me this kind of capability where I would be able to look at my network at any given time and see the state of my network. With Darktrace, at the moment, I have to almost put in a date and tell them that want you to give me data from this date to this date. I don't want that. I want a fast solution in which it doesn't matter when I log into the application. Whenever I log in, I must be able to see my network and run a report. In other words, if I go in now and I say, "Give me a full report of what happened today, it must be able to give me that. It mustn't just be limited to a seven-day period, for argument's sake. It must be able to give me real-time and day-to-day tracking of what has happened within my network."
"The management dashboards and the meter dashboards should be more user-friendly and simple to use for easy management."
"We'd like threat hunting, and we'd like to see a global solution that can automate vulnerability scans."
"Darktrace would tell you, for example, if there was a ransomware attack, but it wouldn't stop the attack."
"The price point for the product was too high for what our possible use case could be."
"The cost of the solution has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If you consider the features and the cost of market leaders, we are satisfied with the pricing."
"The price of the solution is not cheap. It is not a one-time purchase, there is a subscription that needs to be paid every one to five years depending on your choice. It is expensive but you can reduce the price by only using the services that you want."
"Darktrace is pricey, but the price is reasonable for what the solution does, and it's comparable to other products."
"The solution is about $6,000 per quarter."
"This solution is expensive."
"Darktrace is expensive. You can pay for the license yearly."
"The tool's pricing is costly."
"The pricing is expensive. It costs over $100,000 a year."
"The cost of the solution is mid-ranged but worth the price."
