Customizable with a self-service portal and a good security posture
Policies enabled for self-service should have keywords attached, so that multiple search terms can direct to a single preferred result, without having to clutter the description field. The new remote support tool is still lacking features compared to other industry solutions. There is no built-in functionality for tracking changes over time for multiple devices. All patch reporting is only a current snapshot. The password management tools are fairly outdated. The web console (GUI) is slow with maddening UI/UX inconsistencies.

Improves productivity and allows team collaboration in organizations
Previously, my company did not use a unified communication tool. For unified communication, my company started to use Microsoft 365 Business. My company used to use technology like Slack for team collaboration. My company used to use local products to manage emails. My company had a totally different license for Office 365. Microsoft 365 Business was chosen by our company as a solution to combine everything. My company does not use a similar technology, like Microsoft 365 Business. In general, my company improved by moving away from disintegrated technologies, and now we are able to integrate different technologies using Microsoft 365 Business.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I found that automated enrollment is very powerful because you can bring standardization to the environment."
"The Smart Groups have been very beneficial for quick reporting when a critical, out of cycle patch is required."
"Being able to easily deploy apps and patches to our client computers with minimal hands-on time from our techs has been huge."
"One of the key features that I liked the most and a lot of the customer value as well is the geofencing. Geofencing is geographical locations. If the device is on a particular premise, then the policy applies. And when the device is not there, the policy goes away."
"We are able to manage our full fleet of devices and can simply integrate with all of our systems."
"The most valuable features are the Jamf agent and the API."
"Smart groups and just the way MDM works are valuable. We like all the features that they have. We try to use it as much as possible, and then we have the support and community involvement to reach out to."
"The fact that devices just need an internet connection [anywhere in the world] that allows them to check into the Jamf Software Server allows for identical management as if on campus or remote, has proven to be golden during the pandemic."
"It's flexible and easy to use."
"The most valuable features are the user-friendly interface and ease of use. There is a benefit to not needing to install the application on your computer. For example, if you want to use Outlook or another application you can easily navigate to the website through your phone and quickly check your email. This is a very useful feature."
"The most valuable features of Microsoft 365 Business are the collaboration and it can be used anywhere. For example, I can carry out my job functions from home."
"I don't have any issues with Microsoft 365 Business, it's a good tool."
"We use Microsoft 365 Business for email and desktop management. We also use Office Suite products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to manage documents."
"It is on-cloud."
"I use the solution for my daily work."
"All the development that they've done in Teams recently has been great."

Cons

"For Windows, we have a reset option. We'd that option available for Mac."
"The response time for support could be significantly improved."
"We face issues when we do not have a script and have to write a script, we need to create extension attributes."
"I wish there was a profile that could be created for configuring Apple software updates on a global basis for our devices, via a configuration profile."
"There needs to be a mass policy change tool."
"I'm not exactly sure where it could be improved off the top of my head, but there is room for improvement."
"The solution needs cheaper training."
"The on-going improvements & innovation that Jamf provides over time is something that needs to be maintained, as it is what is needed to fulfill a business & team need at the right time."
"The OneDrive part could be more user-friendly, because many people want to use it."
"The pricing for this solution could be improved."
"In Teams, it is a little tricky to set up a guest or to become a guest on someone's domain, but if people do that, then you have an improvement in the shared access. The real pain, which is not a big thing, in Teams is if you're a small business user, it is really hard to get somebody on a different domain into your list of contacts. You can't just chat with them or start an instant meeting. That is easier to do with Zoom, which I also use. The real issue in Teams is that if you're not on the same domain, a lot of the good functionality falls apart. You have to actually be a guest in the other person's domain. I have a large customer, and they created a guest account for me in their domain so that I can chat with people inside their organization as though I was inside their organization, but not everybody is willing to do that. Some of my customers are Aerospace and Defense, and nobody gets on their domain."
"Video feeds cannot be disabled which is a distraction during video conferencing."
"It requires logging out and in again when working for different companies."
"Excel hangs many times, especially when we have equations. Excel is very heavy on the hardware, and it needs powerful hardware. I hope they can enhance the performance of Excel. Other products are working well, except for Excel."
"Occasionally, it does go down, however, for the most part, it's fine."
"I am pretty happy with its features. However, it could be cheaper for long-term business use."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Depending on how much support you require, it might make sense to add that to the licensing agreement."
"It seems fair. It could be a little bit less, but you have to pay for a product. You can't get something for free. You get what you pay for, so if you put in a little bit of money, you're going to get a good quality product."
"Don’t go into a sales call without knowing all the details of your system because Jamf has a ton of tools outside of Jamf Pro to offer and knowing them ahead of time is a must."
"JumpStart is available at an additional cost."
"The setup is pricey upfront for support and setup."
"The setup cost is in the training, which is the most important step of your journey."
"Setup and licensing prices are getting to be too high."
"The only thing that is kicking us a bit is the rand to the dollar exchange rate. It is priced in dollars. Every time the rand goes worse, it just costs more. I would rate it a four out of five in terms of pricing because it is very unpredictable because of the rand to the dollar exchange rate."
"The program is inexpensive."
"It is expensive, and its price can be better."
"The solution is very cheap."
"We pay regular licensing fees to continue using Microsoft 365 Business."
"Pricing can always be improved."
"In general, the product offers different licenses at different prices based on which users have to determine the features they want in the product. My company has P1 and P2 licenses from Microsoft."
"The product is expensive."
"Its price is what you would expect today from a software-as-a-service offering. It is somewhere around $10 per user per month."
