Usability is important. The interface is nice, but very complex and requires lots of learning involved in managing and navigating the product.

Nagios - we switched because ScienceLogic is an all in one solution which is able to do more than Nagios.

It was complex - it required their technicians to assist on setting up the system initially.

Through ScienceLogic direct. They were very knowledgeable.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Setup and day-to-day cost is negotiable, but having a lot of devices can be expensive in the long run.

We compared ScienceLogic to Nagios, LogicMon, and Zabbix.
What other advice do I have?
Test the product thoroughly and do a cost analysis to see if the product is suitable long term.

Need to have a better export data/copy to clipboard option to transfer the data to do more analytics on the events/trends/graph.

I've used it for two years.

Error information doesn’t have a good information if something goes wrong while doing a device discovery (I tried this a while back- couldn’t be more specific).

Never got to know since we have two to three instances running.

Time. Very efficient in terms of deployment, and implementation.
What needs improvement?
I see room to do better in the network and SNMP trap processing. A major bug was discovered on the asset warranty alarm mapping, I hope the problem has been resolved by now.

One and a half years on a global scale.

There were times when the backup MySQL data sync had a problem within the probe and the main instance.

Minor, it was related to the sync issues.

The scalability and performance is excellent. We use it globally.

They are knowledgeable and very responsive.

We previously used a different solution. This is the best tool ever which allowed us to consolidate from various monitoring solutions such as HPOV, CA and SCOM..

Both in-house and though a vendor team. They are very experienced and able to answer straight from an inquiry when it comes to a technical issue.

Yes, we looked at FireScope unify.

It has a speedy deployment and an impressive dashboard.

It has given us comprehensive monitoring across all platforms. Better to have a best of breed tool than an SMB product.

Reporting needs to be improved. It was sold as a tool we could use for out clients and it was a complete failure. Also, built in applications should be more to best proactive monitors.

Yes, we looked at continuing with our previous tool, Kaseya and a couple of other multi-tenant tools.
What other advice do I have?
Implement with a consulting group that knows the product. Don't expect the talent at ScienceLogic to help with process. The infrastructure you place this product on makes a huge difference.
