A Kanban-style application with features for task management, prioritization, and collaboration
Pros and Cons
  • "I think task management, prioritization, rankings, and collaboration features are useful."
  • "Pricing can be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We use Trello for task management. We've used it a lot in the last year. I'm able to integrate it within Aha! and link to the Trello board. I kind of use the Aha! side more myself and it feeds into Trello. I do pull up Trello to look and make sure things are in the right spot and we review biweekly in Trello.

How has it helped my organization?

The collaboration features and keeping track of tasks in a shared environment has definitely helped improve our organization.

What is most valuable?

I think task management, prioritization, rankings, and collaboration features are useful. It's a really easy tool to enter data, keep track of the tasks and management, and update all of that. It's very straightforward.

What needs improvement?

Pricing can be improved. Maybe it would be better if they offered some extra tiers, so you don't have to go all the way up to the pro level. We're using the integrations on the other side, and I think you only get some of the things if you're not subscribed at a higher level. You only get a certain amount of features. For example, they have this thing called the Butler, and unless you're at a pro-level, you can only use one Butler feature. You have to pay more to unlock certain features.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Trello for a year and three months. I think the team's been working with it for probably five or six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Trello is a stable solution. I think any instability was probably a user error.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I haven't had any issues scaling Trello up or down.

How was the initial setup?

I was involved in my branch and it was pretty basic and pretty easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Pricing can be improved. You have to pay more to unlock certain features.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Trello an eight.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

It is an easy-to-use solution that has been useful for project management
Pros and Cons
  • "I like the user interface's graphics and the general features and functionalities."
  • "The solution could be priced cheaper."

What is our primary use case?

We have software engineers working in a distributed format, handling outsourcing projects, and we create tasks in Trello. We use Trello to manage projects, though most of our projects are not very big.

What is most valuable?

I like the user interface's graphics and the general features and functionalities. Similarly, I like the automation side of things because it provides updates and notifications. Trello is a valuable solution.

What needs improvement?

The solution could be priced cheaper.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Trello for the past three years, and I'm using the latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the stability as a ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. We have eight users. We will increase usage if we need to.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward. It took less than ten minutes to deploy the solution. The process is quite simple. It's a straightforward and user-friendly experience. Since most of our project managers and product managers were already familiar with setting up the solution, the initial setup was not a big deal for us.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented it through our in-house team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing starts from around $6 per license for a subscription, and there might be higher subscriptions available, possibly around $12 per month. Overall, I rate the pricing an eight out of ten.

What other advice do I have?

Most of our projects on Trello are not very big, so we are reconsidering it.

When setting up Trello, you need to create an account, and after confirmation, you can start using the free version to explore the features. While the free version may have some limitations, you can easily upgrade to the paid version if you require additional features.

Everyone should get a subscription since it's a good solution. Overall, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.

An affordable and convenient product for communicating and collaborating with colleagues
Pros and Cons
  • "Kanban is the best feature of the tool."
  • "Sometimes the notifications are not updated on iOS."

What is our primary use case?

We use the product for meetings and timelines. We use it to share the status of some projects with the team.

What is most valuable?

Kanban is the best feature of the tool. It is very clear and very good. The desktop solution is good.

What needs improvement?

There are mobile apps for the solution. Sometimes the notifications are not updated on iOS. If we have one notification, the iOS app shows seven. It indicates that the notifications are still unread. The notifications on mobile apps must be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for almost two years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

About ten people use the product in my organization.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very easy.

What about the implementation team?

I sent messages to the support team through the app when the notifications were not updated on iOS. However, they did not reply.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product is cheap. I think the product is cheaper than Zoho.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend the product to others. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Great for project management, very reliable, and simple to deploy
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is great for project management."
  • "It is not a scalable product."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution for agile project management. I use Trello to list all the tickets that the development team needs to resolve.

You can list all tickets that the development team needs to develop. Once they finish, they can pass the ticket to the next list for testing. Once the ticket is tested, they can pass it to deployment. Once the item is deployed, they can close this ticket.

It helps to manage the life cycle of a ticket or of the requirements in development. You list it. You capture it. You schedule it. For each requirement, you try to ensure that it passed all stages of development, testing, deployment, and closing.

What is most valuable?

The solution is great for project management. It helps us track the progress of work and tickets.

It is very easy to deploy the solution.

I have found the solution to be stable.

In general, it works very well.

What needs improvement?

It is not a scalable product.

There are no features that are lacking. We're pretty happy with its functionality.

They could offer more integration with other tools - especially those that test some requirements in tickets.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It is reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product does not scale.

We have 15 people in the company that use it right now. We do not plan to increase usage at this point.

How are customer service and support?

I've never dealt with technical support. I don't know how helpful they are.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've used Microsoft Project in the past.

How was the initial setup?

The product is straightforward to implement. It's not complex at all. You can deploy it in less than a day.

I work for the development team, so I did not deploy it personally. There was another team member that handled the process. I just use it.

What about the implementation team?

Since it is so easy to deploy, anyone can do it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing covers all of the functionalities of the product. It has everything your team needs.

What other advice do I have?

I'm an end-user.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

Excellent interface, good price, and easy to install and set up
Pros and Cons
  • "Trello is very easy to install and set up. It is also easy to use. Its interface is excellent."
  • "It could have a bit more customization, especially for organizations that may want to integrate it into their own systems."

What is our primary use case?

I use it for project management. It is very similar to Wrike, Jira, and other project management solutions.

How has it helped my organization?

It works very well, and it makes it easy to keep track of tasks.

It makes the work a lot easier because you can assign tasks. People working on a project can sign up and go there to look at the tasks.

What is most valuable?

Trello is very easy to install and set up. It is also easy to use. Its interface is excellent.

It is stable and quite secure.

What needs improvement?

It could have a bit more customization, especially for organizations that may want to integrate it into their own systems.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for over a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable. We have seven or eight users who use this solution.

It was implemented in-house.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

User-friendly interface, easy to adopt, and relatively cheap
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of Trello for us is the user-friendly interface."
  • "It is somewhat challenging to move to the automation part of Trello."

What is our primary use case?

We are using Trello to manage our sales queue with integration with Salesforce and to handle our administrative tasks.

How has it helped my organization?

We use Trello internally to manage our tasks. Specifically, we are using the Kanban board feature to move tasks from one status to another, which helps in organizing and tracking work efficiently.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of Trello for us is the user-friendly interface. The graphical nature of Trello makes it easy to adopt for non-expert and non-technical people. The boards are particularly useful for moving tasks through different statuses.

What needs improvement?

It is somewhat challenging to move to the automation part of Trello. This is based on feedback from our team members who have tried to implement automation features.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Trello since Atlassian acquired it.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Trello is pretty stable. We haven't faced any significant issues, and our clients who use it also find it stable, even with a hundred users.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

From our experience, Trello is good for small and medium-sized teams but not suitable for enterprise-level usage. For enterprise levels, we recommend Jira.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support from Atlassian for Trello is satisfactory.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Trello is straightforward and easy.

What about the implementation team?

Our internal team handles the integrations and configurations, and they perform well.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing for Trello is relatively cheap compared to other similar solutions.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We have not worked with any other similar solutions besides Trello and other Atlassian products.

What other advice do I have?

There's nothing specific I wish I had known before starting with Trello. It's an easy tool to adopt and use. I highly recommend considering its user-friendly nature for simple task management.

Simple and effective solution to track projects
Pros and Cons
  • "Trello is quite easy to learn. The features that are available in the current version are enough to do your basic documentation and management."
  • "I would like to see improvement in onboarding back-office team members."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution to track simple projects. Trello is also useful whenever I intend to make presentations to stakeholders. It has some inbuilt features that make presentations easier and with much better pictorial elements.

How has it helped my organization?

Trello is quite easy to learn. The features that are available in the current version are enough to do your basic documentation and management.

What is most valuable?

Trello's workflow is very calculated.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see improvement in onboarding back-office team members.

For how long have I used the solution?

I use Trello occasionally.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Trello is stable. There are occasional patch updates that do not disrupt any saved work.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Trello is scalable as its features can be extended to accommodate small to larger projects.

How are customer service and support?

The customer service team always responded to me whenever I had any need for them and they get the issues quickly resolved.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use Jira to track complex projects.

How was the initial setup?

The implementation of Trello is easier compared to Microsoft Visio but complex when compared to Jira. Trello has more features than Visio. The complexity of the system increases with the increase in features.

What about the implementation team?

I used Trello in-house.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution pricing is okay. The pricing is subscription-based and depends on the features that you need. If you need more features then you will need to pay more. You can use the basic features to lead your project management.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Yes, I did. I tried Microsoft Visio which is also good but there are some unique differences.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Trello a nine out of ten. When you are a beginner, there will be difficulty in using such complex solutions. Later, you can decide what you are going to do with the solution. For some of the new solutions, the physicalization is divided due to the new available features.

My advice to anyone from business analysis, IT management, and project management is to use Trello first. It is because if you start using Jira first, you will encounter issues. Therefore, it is good to move from Visio to Trello and then to Jira. You can get in touch with business intelligence with Trello.
I have not encountered any technical issues with the solution. Support was available whenever I didn’t know how to proceed. This support gave me direction on what to do next. It is a rare thing for a solution to not give any headaches to the person using it.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
