For instance, if a customer uses multiple platforms like Android and iOS, the solution has different features due to API limitations; when our company implements certain restrictions, the solution doesn't provide the same features for varying operating systems. VMware Workspace ONE should allow certain common settings and restrictions across multiple operating systems.

I would like to see technology expense management integrated into the next release. This feature would allow us to manage expenses across various workloads and services, including cloud environments and computing resources.
Compared to Microsoft, VMware Workspace ONE must improve many things. The VMware Workspace ONE portal is too complicated. The portal is not user-friendly. Accessing the web-based application is complicated. Registering devices is very difficult. VMware Workspace ONE must be improved a lot. Searching the menu is very difficult. Everything is too complicated. People prefer immediate results, but it is not easy to find things on VMware Workspace ONE. Unified Access Gateway and UEM are very difficult. The menu and options are not visible properly.

VMware Workspace ONE is a bit complicated to configure for our company's customers, especially when compared to the other EMMs in the market. The usability provided by VMware Workspace ONE is an area of concern where improvements are required.
They could provide DLP integration for applications and specific user account security. Additionally, they should enable data copy-paste restrictions for professional accounts.

From an improvement perspective, there is a need for discounts to be offered by the solution since it is something that any organization can expect from the product.
In terms of improvement, I would like better integration for deploying programs with binary files. As for future releases, I hope to see features like seamless migrations with collaboration tools to simplify tasks, especially for devices like IP phones and Cisco Call Manager.
The solution's pre-stage enrollment could be improved. I would like to see more geofencing in the solution so that we can precisely track and keep a record of the devices in case of theft.

There is a need for better user lifecycle management within VMware Identity Manager, along with better user governance, including the separation of duties of the users. In my company, we are not able to create a policy for the separation of duties of the users, so it is an area where improvement is required. The official authentication and fingerprint authentication should be part of VMware Identity Manager, and I feel these areas are currently missing. The scalability of the product needs to improve. The product should be tightly integrated with the third-party products because it's not like a customer is going to purchase all the VMware products, as they might have different solutions for different purposes.
One thing VMware needs to improve is compatibility with different operating systems. Sometimes, customers have old operating systems that are outside the compatibility metrics of Workspace ONE UEM. So sometimes it's difficult to request customers to upgrade those old PCs, and that's a problem for me.
Customer support needs improvement. Many times, when we encounter an issue, it takes a lot of time for the support team to connect with us and resolve the issue. Sometimes, it may take more than one week to resolve any issue.

VMware Workspace ONE is like any other product. You need to work with the vendor's software engineers to get the features you need to support your infrastructure. They can provide the technical modifications to the software you need to support your environment. For example, the Department of Defense has a peculiar IT infrastructure in terms of how they use SonicWall for mobile devices. If someone's using an Apple iPhone or an Android device, how do you partition it to support the mission? Public sector workers need to use a government cell because of the sensitive business they conduct on those devices. Mobile devices also include laptops and cell phones, creating more complexity. The bigger vendors like VMware, Insight, and MobileIron can assign engineers to customers. You can work with them to develop the right competency to use the product.
There could be ease of integration within the environment. I didn't have any issues when using it, but the integration part was a bit difficult for the other team.

The solution is too complicated. A lot of end customers don't know how to start when they go into the console. They request our service to help them implement the MDM policy. The distributor and VMware's people can't tell me what's the differentiation or the spec, because MDM products are very similar these days. Some of that might be because the vendor thinks it's good but it's not what the customer wants. That's why it's very difficult.
The only downside to the solution is that the dashboard is very confusing. When we are not really working in Workspace ONE control for a long time, we tend to forget where to go because there are a lot of links. The solution is similar to Intune. Basically, VMware Workspace ONE is still the macOS management, which is still lacking as compared to other MDM solutions. VMware needs to focus more on macOS, and managing macOS.

The application itself individuals are getting annoyed with it. They are looking to integrate with ABB applications regardless of whether it is Android or iOS based. We are wanting to shift from this application because of the integration issues we are facing.
We have some problems with Workspace ONE. We have used the politic MDM for mobile, and it was probably one month before one account just removed it. It's likely an error from Samsung since this device gets updates from Samsung. Once an update happened, they remove this from the MDM platform from Workspace ONE. However, I could not track down the reason this happened. We'd like to see a better connection to Microsoft Azure and a better connection with Check Point. It's not completely stable. While we have some wrappers in the product, I don't usually find what I want. The two-factor identification process needs to be easier.

There are a lot of difficulties whenever people have a lot of configurations in it, basically related to security certificate configurations and integration with VMware Horizon. I see technical people are sometimes struggling to do this. I don't know whether it is some knowledge gap or whether it is the difficulty of the product. However, there have been some cases where we've had issues, and the knowledge is not ubiquitous. You cannot find it easily. Not many engineers have the right training or knowledge to deal with it correctly. Technical support could be better. It would be great if it had some sort of password wallet integrated within it.

The management interface needs to be better. We'd like more useful support. The scripting language is all very unique to the product as opposed to using any kind of industry-standard methods. That might be frustrating for some teams. The initial setup can be complex.
VMware Workspace ONE can improve in virtual reality. Customers are now looking toward virtual reality devices. Though it supports virtual reality, it's treated as an Android device. Customers want to deal with VR devices, they want a specific VR tool. Not an Android device VR tool.
I'd like to see a more Microsoft-oriented product with a modern enterprise mobility management platform fully integrated with a Windows ecosystem and the capability to natively integrate with SCCM for a common management for a hybrid workspace. The solution lacks a specific environment such as Windows. I would also like to see a more specific customization for each single platform, such as macOS, Apple devices, and the like. It would make the product more competitive.

It would be very helpful if we could integrate it directly into the database. It's a costly product. It would help if they could offer it at a discount. It would be ideal if the solution could enhance the user interface and make a modern dashboard.
VMware Workspace ONE is an intelligence-driven digital workspace platform that delivers any app on any device. It integrates access control, multi-platform endpoint management, and application management. With the VMware Workspace ONE platform, IT teams can deliver a digital workspace that includes the devices and apps of the company’s choice, but with security and control.
