Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Strong security reporting has supported our consulting work and drives better integration choices
I rated Adlumin Security Operations probably the same as Huntress at eight. They are better at reporting and better integrations. The integrations in terms of the number of integrations you can run from them or connect to are not as many as available with Huntress, but they have easier implementation. Overall, I would say it is the same. I do not want to see any additional features in the next release of Adlumin Security Operations, but I would change the pricing a little bit for around SIEM integrations and SIEM data collection. That is probably the maximum I would do. I do not really have much to say because that is literally five percent of our deployments versus ninety-five percent being Huntress. My overall rating for this review is eight.

Consistent threat hunting and anomaly detection deliver valuable insights for network security management
In terms of improvement for Darktrace, pricing is the main concern. Pricing bothers me and this is one of the major factors when choosing a solution. When we get feedback from customers, that's the only felt need. When we factor in Darktrace, we do it only limited. We put it on where the perimeters and connections are, but still, some gray areas are left out, especially if we have multiple branches. We need Darktrace on each branch to get the data out, and I suggest having some kind of a centralized product that gets data from multiple sources to aggregate and provide the data.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We use Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks for its ability to detect based on behavior rather than simple virus scan to prevent malicious activities."
"The protection offered by this product is good, as is the endpoint reporting."
"I can highlight that we have not faced any security incidents with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks, and even though our environment is quite dynamic, we have not faced any security incident with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks until now."
"The anti-exploit is impenetrable."
"The solution's most valuable feature is the user interface."
"There has been a significant reduction of approximately 70% to 80% in our internal MTTR and MTTD metrics, now around five to eight minutes whereas previously it was hours, which has helped tremendously."
"The positive impacts I see from Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks include a complete 360-degree view of our security posture altogether, being a uniform platform where we are ingesting logs from multiple resources."
"I don't have to do much monitoring with it; I don't have to have anybody manually looking at this, it gives us reports, and it lets us know if something needs to be addressed, and we can easily address it."
"We normally focus on Huntress."
"We're very pleased with Darktrace so it is a bit difficult to pinpoint areas for improvement."
"I find it very good in the way that they show the past events, including the attack history."
"The most valuable features of Darktrace are the tracing of unusual external emails and monitoring the local network."
"The product offers us a very good user interface and we've found the network visibility to be very good so far."
"Technical support is great. They are very responsive and helpful."
"The Dynamic Threat Dashboard is very nice, as it lists all of your threats and rates them, and then you can choose whether to investigate further."
"One member of staff is enough for deployment and maintenance because Darkforce is AI-driven. It does a lot of things by itself."
"The most valuable feature is that it works autonomously."

Cons

"A little bit more automation would be nice."
"To jump from the partner to Palo Alto directly was challenging."
"Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth."
"There are some default policies which sometimes affect our applications and cause them to run around."
"It's more focused on network communication. If a customer wants to increase the level of protection and start working with documents, it's impossible to integrate these features into the system. It's more of a communication-oriented system than a content security-oriented system."
"There's an overall lack of features."
"When it comes to core analysis and security analysis, Cortex needs to provide more information."
"Based on our experience so far, its implementation is quite complex."
"Adlumin Security Operations's functionality is probably slightly better, but implementation and integration with Office 365 was not as straightforward."
"The technical support is not very good."
"The level of tracking within the network from the transmission level up to the machine level can use improvement."
"A reporting portal could be a great addition to help customize reports."
"This is quite an expensive product so the pricing is something that can be improved."
"Upper management wasn't sold on the value proposition."
"The interface and dashboards could be improved for ease-of-use."
"My only criticism of the product is that its licensing model isn't flexible."
"Darktrace could improve by being more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It has a yearly renewal."
"The price of the product is not very economical."
"If one wishes to work with another team or large number of users at a future point, he must purchase a license for them."
"The price is on the higher side, but it's okay."
"The pricing is okay, although direct support can be expensive."
"I don't recall what the cost was, but it wasn't really that expensive."
"Very costly product."
"I did PoCs on products called Cylance and CrowdStrike. Although, I consider these products and they were also good, when it come to cost and budgetary factors, Traps has been proven to be better than the other two products. It is quite cost-effective and delivers all the entire solution which we require."

"The pricing is subscription-based and it is high."
"It is a very expensive product."
"The solution is about $6,000 per quarter."
"The pricing is expensive. It costs over $100,000 a year."

"This solution is expensive."
"The price of Darktrace is high and could be reduced. We pay approximately $30,000 to $54,000 annually."
"I am using a demo of Darktrace for deployment and testing which is free."
