Offers a good user experience, enables our IT team to be more efficient, and helps reduce licensing costs.
We regularly survey our users to gather feedback on their experience with device enrollment and app installation. The feedback we have received so far has been positive. Intune is good at securing hybrid work and BYOD. There are a few gaps but we can manage those with other tools. Microsoft Security Signals within Intune is an effective tool. It allows us to restrict access to specific systems or resources for certain devices based on their risk score. We can also prevent access for other devices that don't meet a specific risk threshold until their score improves. It has enabled our IT team to use their tools more effectively. Intune streamlines our endpoint management by consolidating multiple vendors into a single platform. With Intune, we can now manage features like the Windows Defender firewall and disk encryption directly, eliminating the need for separate third-party products. This simplifies our management process and potentially reduces costs. The vendor consolidation has helped to reduce our licensing costs. It is extremely important to us that the Microsoft Intune suite is integrated with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Security. We're looking at consolidating more systems and solutions into our Microsoft licensing because of how easily it integrates.

Offers third-party patching feature, good scalability, and enhance endpoint management capabilities
From the perspective of the team that's handling the environment, it's not so user-friendly compared to other solutions, the competitors. We hire new teams from time to time, and they are complaining, look, although BigFix is very robust and cross-platform, it's not so fun to work with. The user interface for the technical teams is not so advanced. It's not so intuitive compared to SCCM, compared to ManageEngine. And this is the fact that they have, with the teams, because they have the rejection. The look and feel of the system are old-fashioned. For new employees, it's less easy to find someone I don't need to educate on how to work with BigFix. Although it's easy, it's not as intuitive as the other solutions, and the functionality of the other solutions is less advanced. Let's summarize: The user interface has to be changed from the perspective of the teams that are managing the product. It's old school.

A highly scalable product that provides seamless integration with third-party tools and improves remote workforce support
All the features, including Web, Android, and iOS Management, are valuable. Workspace ONE Intelligence is also a valuable tool. The streamlining of device management tasks is incorporated into the tool. We do not have to do much. The product has fully automated features that help people do tasks…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the UEM capabilities."
"It's easy to manage and easy to configure."
"I like how Microsoft Intune lets me lock down the email profile and make it accessible only on certain devices."
"The ability to send configurations to our systems is valuable, particularly as we don't have a regular Windows AD server. Our current environment doesn't have a Windows AD, which limits our ability to push GPOs. However, this is where the solution can step in and help us push policies."
"Our main use is Intune's management of mobile devices, like Android or iPhone devices. The application performs quite well for both types. We successfully managed almost 3,000 endpoints."
"One of the standout features of Intune is its seamless accessibility to work data, eliminating the need to be tied to an office or a desktop."
"Autopilot is the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is having all our devices compliant with our policies."
"The most valuable features are patch management, software installation, and asset management."
"The most valuable feature of BigFix is the reporting tool and patching Windows."
"BigFix has drastically reduced the maintenance window period to patch and reboot servers."
"The architecture for patching and the 100% correct reporting makes BigFix stand apart from other solutions."
"Being able to intelligently create reports, gather data, export CSVs and give that to the leadership of some of the client groups that my team supports has helped my organization."
"We receive the patches automatically, and BigFix spreads them automatically to our endpoints."
"Servers are patched more consistently than they have been previously."
"The tool's most valuable features are patching and integration with vulnerability scanners."
"We used to have a system before, Mac OS Open Directory server and this open directory became obsolete because Apple decided to stop the enterprise market, so there was no other alternative for us to use. We chose this to replace the open directory and we found that it has many more features than the previous solution. We totally rely on it right now to manage all the devices on campus."
"The solution was easy to deploy."
"We can impose cybersecurity requirements."
"It seems highly stable and scalable."
"Cloud-based VMware Workspace ONE is very good. It is easy to deploy and manage. Maintenance is also quite simple."
"A very easy to use solution."
"The solution is good for providing dedicated resources for dedicated users."
"The Identity component of this solution is its most valuable feature."

Cons

"It would be great to see on-premises mailboxes and for the solution to have geofencing capabilities."
"The tool's tunnel gateway is not very good, making it an area where improvements are required."
"A new Intune feature allows application packaging, but it incurs additional licensing costs for a significant number of applications."
"They should make it easier to order it, however, that's generally true for everything from Microsoft."
"The closest Microsoft Intune can be to GPOs, the better. There needs to be more granularity on application deployments. However, they have done better recently with the application deployments."
"Sometimes, it takes time to synchronize the policies between the portal and the devices, you don't have a way to estimate how long it will take to deploy. You have some kind of gray area, where it can deploy in 30 minutes or three days."
"Microsoft Intune needs to improve the initial login process."
"There can be some added features, such as an improved dashboard. Any new feature that could be a benefit to our customers would be good."
"I would request them to build a robots, or an easier way for integration with the other tools, like ITSM tools."
"I would like the dashboard to be improved to show the problematic machines and good machines."
"I would eventually like to see a SaaS offering, a cloud-hosted BigFix instance where we only have to put a relay in our environment."
"Maybe the online help could be improved. It'd be nice if you would have a lot more phrases and keywords that you could search for and find answers with the help."
"Sometimes the workstations communicate back to the BigFix server two or three days in a week or something similar. Sometimes there can be a delay reporting back to the server for a variety of reasons, such as users turning their computer off when they go home. When the user comes back and turns the computer back on BigFix needs to synchronize and sometimes it can take some time, approximately one week. The communication between the agent and the server should be faster, there is room for improvement in this area."
"I want to see a solution for being able to deploy automated software to a Mac running OS X 10.13, something that's going to deal with kernel exceptions and answering prompts for user permissions for data folders and whatnot. They need to really streamline and automate the Mac software deployment."
"There is no support for patch management on SLES on IBM pSeries (only the Intel platform is supported)."
"The BigFix Inventory could have an increased scope regarding the tools that can be detected. It does not cover all the possible software installed in Asset."
"There are some bugs that our team needs to work around. It required some API integration required because visitor integration was not there. For example, we are currently working on a tunnel issue, and VMware doesn't have this solution."
"Pricing is a limitation. I think it's on the higher side, so if it were cheaper, it would benefit more organizations."
"From an identity perspective, there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to integration with other solutions. I would say it needs more capabilities in terms of direct integrations, including cloud identity solution integrations."
"We'd like the customization to be better."
"When we had some issues, the support did not respond quickly, and they did not provide a solution."
"The mobile device repository is somewhat difficult to manage with a large user base."
"We have experienced some connectivity issues."
"There are other solutions that might be better for certain use cases. This is not an all-purpose solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our enterprise agreement includes Microsoft Intune at no additional cost."
"I recently got to know that the AD P1 license is compulsory to use Intune Autopilot, which was surprising for me. Earlier, this was not the case. It is the wrong thing to do. We now need to purchase AD P1 licenses for us and for our customers. I would rate it a seven out of ten for pricing."
"If you're ever going to buy an Office 365 environment, then pricing is reasonable given all that it does, but if you're not, then you might find the pricing expensive."
"Pricing can be improved."
"It's affordable. In comparison to the competitors, the price depends on what features you need from Intune, but it's affordable. There are no hidden costs, but there are some features that go for a premium price. Those are the add-ons for which you have to pay extra."
"The pricing of Endpoint Manager is fine. The licensing is not that complex, but small and midsized organizations might have challenges with the pricing plans. There are a lot of categories—E2, E3, E5—to choose from."
"Every customer used to purchase licenses based on their needs."
"I liked the tool's pricing until P2 came into effect. I am unsure about the current value versus the cost of the new licensing model."
"You are charged per server and per workstation when using BigFix. ManageEngine is a lot cheaper than BigFix. There are some additional costs, such as support."
"It is too costly. It is one of the best tools, but because of pricing, not all clients support it. Its licensing is on a yearly basis."
"There's not much big cost. We only have to pay the agents' cost for the server, and for the systems."
"The tool's price continues to go up. The cost per endpoint can vary, ranging from approximately 30 to 80 dollars per year. Compared to other products, pricing is in the middle. You need to buy an additional database license, but most users already have it."
"We have a subscription-based contract with BigFix."
"So, the pricing is slightly more expensive than the others. I have to keep buying licenses every time I add a new device."
"I would stay with the Managed Virtual Server license model, which is a 1-to-1 license per OS whether it is virtual or physical."
"The price of BigFix is better than the solutions. You are able to pay monthly or annually. There are not any hidden costs with BigFix. There is an additional cost for the SQL database."
"The tool is expensive."
"There is a separate cost for technical support and extra premium features. The pricing should be simplified."
"The cost is a little bit high."
"Currently, the product is priced at around 50 USD."
"I have no opinion about the pricing of the product."
"Workspace ONE is on the higher end of the pricing band when compared to other players in the market."
"In terms of pricing, this solution is definitely much more expensive compared to other solutions, like MobileIron or MaaS360 or any other product in the market. This solution is more expensive by 30 or 40 percent."
"While the platform offers comprehensive solutions, it can be expensive, especially if you only need it for occasional testing and deployment."
