Helps unify our endpoint and security management tools, enhances IT security operations, and improves our security posture
Intune unifies our endpoint and security management tools. Managing our devices in a single solution helps our IT security operations. The user experience is good, especially for SIS Administration. Intune provides 90 percent visibility and IT control across device platforms. Intune helps us secure our hybrid work. Our information security team has been quite satisfied with our organization's security posture since deploying Intune. Microsoft's E3 and S3 subscriptions keep us within their ecosystem and enhance our IT productivity, eliminating the need for third-party solutions. With the implementation of Intune the risk of security breaches has been decreased. Intune's unified platform has saved our organization money by eliminating redundant costs, like extra licenses and the need for multiple solutions for the same tasks. Intune helped us consolidate vendors. This consolidation has improved our security posture. It is important for us that Intune integrates with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Security for both cloud and commonly managed devices.

Good for patch server management
For Endpoint Central, as an end-user system, we set automatic deployment from Friday. If, for any reason, there are instances that are missed, we check every day from 07:00 AM to 05:00 PM. We don't need to submit automatic deployment, so it's still part of my deployment process. We set up a test server. Once we are okay with the patch that they need to test, they approve it, and then it applies to production. We used Microsoft. So, for asset processing reports and things like that, we had to move to ManageEngine. They changed the name to Endpoint Central. So, it's like that in terms of being much better and having more functionality as a product.

The solution is stable, scalable, and offers single sign-on
I give the solution a nine out of ten. I suggest if a person wants to start using Workspace ONE, they should make use of the cloud instance instead of the on-premise instance. There is an on-premise instance available, but the cloud instance is a better option now. I advise them to make use of the cloud instance. This is because management-wise, there is no need to manage a server. For example, we don't need to buy a server, and we don't need to buy network switches, which are required for the on-premise. At the same time, I can advise setting up all the functionalities or whatever functionalities are available for the trial version. We need to check if the Workspace ONE integration includes Azure AD or other identity providers. A lot of applications are using these providers for authentication, such as Ping, Okta, and others. If the Workspace ONE integration doesn't include these providers, the company might have to find a different solution. Security projects should also be considered. Specifically, if the solution can integrate with local security solutions to secure mobile devices.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to push applications on devices is valuable. You do not have to manually install applications one by one. If you like to use ten different applications, you do not have to manually go and download them one by one. Intune can compile a package for you, and then you can just push them from the admin center."
"If any user tries to access company data, it directly interacts with the conditional access policy. This helps us protect our data and set the criteria for how data can be accessed and shared."
"The ability to wipe data from and reset devices is one of the most important and valuable features. If a device is reported stolen, we can freeze it or wipe the data from it, preventing data leakage."
"While I don't think you can ever have full visibility and control, Intune certainly allows us to see the applications being used and tells us if things like Windows patches aren't applied to machines. It does a good job. That visibility makes life a little easier."
"The initial setup is not complex."
"Application deployment and keeping the devices secure no matter where they are, by having this cloud solution — that has been great."
"It is a stable solution."
"We were trying to solve many issues, mainly the lack of centralized management. Before Microsoft Intune, we had to manually support devices one by one, installing applications and configuring policies individually. When we implemented the tool, it became much easier to manage our devices. We enroll them in Microsoft Intune and can manage all devices with a few clicks. For application management, it's the same process. If we want to deploy applications to hundreds or thousands of devices, we can do it easily with just a few clicks. This also applies to policies."
"Its cross-platform capabilities and the ability to do both OS-level patching and third-party patching are valuable. It is difficult to find a software product that will do all that for you out of the box, and you don't have to do any configuration other than your initial setup. Once you do that, there is a very minimalistic approach to getting it operational. You can have it up and running within a 20-minute time span."
"Patch management features are an important feature."
"The most valuable feature of ManageEngine Endpoint Central is the central management console. Additionally, inventory tracking is helpful for knowing where our assets are."
"ManageEngine Desktop Central automatically alerts you if there are newer releases or updates. You do not have to go to their website and check."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"Honestly, I have to say all features together have become the Swiss army knife of desktop management. They all work hand in hand. Software deployment saves an unbelievable amount of time installing an application on hundreds of computers."
"Very good, functional solution for endpoint management."
"The initial setup is easy."
"It was easy to use."
"We've configured single sign-on for two or three enterprise customers, and it works very well."
"The solution is stable."
"It's a tool that can be managed in various departments."
"The initial setup is easy and the deployment doesn't take too long."
"We can impose cybersecurity requirements."
"The Identity component of this solution is its most valuable feature."
"The solution has proven to be very stable."

Cons

"The solution requires Mac support."
"More integration with monitoring tools is needed."
"There is still a gap between SCCM and Intune, especially in the reporting, inventory, and software deployment areas."
"Lacking ability to leverage more iOS device management internally."
"There are a few security features that are not available in Microsoft Intune, when compared to other products."
"While Intune works perfectly well, the only potential downside is that the deployment could be a bit complex for some users."
"I want more secure, reliable, and efficient security policies."
"The tool's tunnel gateway is not very good, making it an area where improvements are required."
"I would like to see them include the ability to find out the network usage but I believe that might be a feature of it already."
"The team should work on improving the stability, particularly with massive patches deployment, clients are not 100% getting patches and the information provided by the system does not help; more detailed report would be very useful."
"The team I've currently got is not using it particularly well, due to the fact that they don't know how to use it particularly well. They've not done any training and so on."
"ManageEngine Desktop Central is very limited. When you scan your system, it will only recognize Microsoft Windows Defender and BitLocker."
"The only problem with it is that the setup isn't very intuitive. I know that they just upgraded the product to make it a little bit easier to use, but compared to some of the other platforms, it is not easy to configure it, set it up, and get it running. However, once you have set it up and got it running, it runs great."
"The solution lacks some configuration."
"It might be helpful if they offered a simpler way to use the OS deployment function. It's a bit complicated for most of the customers."
"Tech support is mediocre at best."
"We'd like the customization to be better."
"Pricing is the only challenge right now. The licensing fee should be simplified a little bit. They have kept too many products as add ons. These need to be bundled with the low-cost, standard version. This will help customers in adopting this technology at a faster pace."
"The solution is too complicated. A lot of end customers don't know how to start when they go into the console."
"The setup was very difficult. It was not as easy as I had expected."
"The security features could always use improvement, although there has already been a huge improvement from years ago."
"I would like to see technology expense management integrated into the next release. This feature would allow us to manage expenses across various workloads and services, including cloud environments and computing resources."
"When it comes to deployment and maintaining security, there should be an integrated console where you have a singular view of all of the products from the same OEM."
"When we had some issues, the support did not respond quickly, and they did not provide a solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is cheap, but as compared to Google, it is costly. Google is cheaper, but quality-wise, Microsoft Intune is better."
"The pricing for Intune and the competitor products are all within the same range, there is no true advantage when it comes to cost."
"I am satisfied with the pricing."
"It is expensive. The cost depends on the license that we choose."
"Existing E5 license holders for M365, Intune, and Azure, receive a free license."
"On a scale of one to ten with one being the cheapest, the cost of Microsoft Intune is a five."
"Microsoft's licensing is more flexible and adaptive than its competitors."
"They have categorized the licenses according to the size of the business. So, if it's a smaller organization, we can choose the license accordingly. If it's a big organization, then we can choose accordingly. Everything is clearly mentioned, and we can decide. It's suitable for all kinds of infrastructure, and that's very goo"
"There is a freeware version of the solution available as long as you do not breach the number of licenses and users that are dictated."
"Choose wisely between the Professional and Enterprise editions, based on your needs."
"The initial purchase was around $6,000 or $7,000. We most probably are not on an annual subscription. We bought it, and then we pay for the maintenance. I'm not 100% sure how that's working out."
"The product is not expensive."
"The price is moderate."
"The pricing is very low, compared to other products. Compared to Intune or SCCM, it's much less. I can say it's a good product for less of a price."
"We pay about $250 a year for our license."
"I have been using the free version and am in the stage where I have to decide if I will proceed with the paid license, or instead choose another product."
"For the moment, we have a multi-year contract, meaning that we cannot go with a different solution at this time even if the price should prove more favorable."
"Our organization has stopped using the solution because it was expensive."
"Licensing fees are paid on a monthly basis."
"The solution is more expensive than Intune."
"The price of VMware Workspace ONE is expensive. However, for the features that are provided, the price is reasonable. There is a subscription to use the solution."
"It's definitely a bit on the expensive side. It is more for smaller organizations and not large, massive enterprises. I am not sure about any additional costs. As far as we could tell, the billing was what the billing was."
"We've purchased various licenses for VMware Workspace ONE, including premium and gold tiers. These licenses include security measures and support for managing telecom expenses like data and voice usage."
"All licenses from VMware are only yearly. They start with a yearly license and look for a three-year commitment and yearly PO."
