Offers unified interface, which also helps you scan Outlook email
My main concern is that it's a bit heavy for some devices. Like Kaspersky or McAfee, it uses more RAM or memory. Similar to that, it causes issues for users and their own resources, similar to that. If you deploy on old legacy devices with only 1GB of RAM, then it could be a problem. Recent versions shouldn't be a problem with at least 16GB of RAM. Bitdefender should have its own app security built in. After integrating SIEM solutions and log collecting, they could have app security built on top of that. For each application, especially when dealing with financial data, if there was an option for data breach control, that would be fantastic. Because nowadays, people are using the internet from home, and we don't know what network they're connecting to. For situations where the network security is questionable, having a security control built into the antivirus would be essential. It's a common requirement nowadays.

Easy to set up with good behavior-based analysis but needs a single-click recovery option
Most organizations are currently looking for a scheduled scan to meet their compliance needs. Other players like Symantec and Trend Micro, FireEye, et cetera, are still providing the signature-based regular scheduled scans also, which is not available in CrowdStrike. That is one parameter that we feel should be there in CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike is only working on the dynamic or the files under execution. CrowdStrike is not scanning the static files. The product could be more accurate in terms of performance. We'd like to have a single-click recovery option. With some machines getting corrupted by malware, we need an easy way to start with a blank slate if things happen. That one feature should be there in the EDR.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the IDS."
"When it comes to the web, according to our customers, this product stands out due to its superior performance compared to others."
"The product offers an opportunity to monitor the things happening in our network. It also has a comprehensive dashboard."
"You will always have a backup copy of any policy the Bitdefender user defines."
"The cloud console is good and the tool is effective in protection."
"Bitdefender is also customizable and granular, but once you install it, it keeps running."
"The tool has a firewall module to control traffic. It also has a feature to map incidents and provide information about attackers and the environment."
"Virus scan and the ability to remotely install are valuable features. Being able to manage everything in one place and set different policies and rules for different computer types are very useful features. It also has ransomware protection. It is very simple to use, and it is very effective."
"Its integration capability is valuable. It integrates easily with any OS."
"The threat intelligence is the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon for me is its unified sensor, applicable across all models."
"This solution has made the lives of the IT staff much easier, compared to the previous one."
"It's ability to do threat hunting is really great, quite robust, and even allows you to do hygiene stuff."
"It's very easy to set up."
"Scalability is good. We have had no issues with it."
"The most valuable aspects of CrowdStrike Falcon for me are its device observability, identification, and software and OS recognition."

Cons

"The live monitoring service from Bitdefender's center is expensive and has room for improvement."
"The solution's stability could be better."
"The security features as per customers' requirements should be improved."
"The lack of detecting security threats and high memory usage need to be improved."
"The firewall capabilities could benefit from an upgrade since it lacks a high level of granularity and control."
"Sometimes the response from Technical Support takes more time than usual because level three support is not in Brazil."
"The price of the bandwidth here is very expensive compared to European countries."
"The tool needs to improve patch and vulnerability management."
"I have worked with their technical support on several problems that were never fully resolved."
"I would rate it an eight out of ten. It does what it needs to do but there's always room for improvement."
"CrowdStrike Falcon could improve if it became an XDR. When we look only to an end-point, we lost the context of the environment. I know it's another line of design of the product. However, if CrowdStrike becomes an XDR, it could be very good."
"The tool is more expensive than other products in the market."
"Some of Falcon's features are a bit pricey."
"It would be nice if they did have some sort of Active Directory tie-in, whether that be Azure or on-prem. Sometimes, it is difficult for us to determine if we are missing any endpoints or servers in CrowdStrike. We honestly don't have a great inventory, but it would be nice if CrowdStrike had a way to say this is everything in your environment, Active Directory-wise, and this is what doesn't have sensors. They try to do that now with a function that they have built-in, but I have been unsuccessful in having it help us identify what needs a sensor. So, better visibility of what doesn't have a sensor in our environment would be helpful."
"CrowdStrike needs to quit making up stuff about its features and functionality to bash its competition."
"The biggest issue with Falcon as a standalone product is it doesn't have very much reporting."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its price has gone up since our last renewal. My renewal fee has gone from $517.99 in 2018 for 3 years to $739.99 when it renews this year in July. I love the product, but a price increase of over 40% is a bit exorbitant."
"It has very flexible licensing costs, and it's modular-based."
"There are many licensing options available, we have been on monthly agreements and other volume contract agreements."
"The price is fair."
"The licensing costs can vary."
"Good in terms of pricing and flexibility."
"In India, licensing is based on annual contracts. It's not extremely expensive, but not the cheapest either. I'd rate it somewhere around seven or eight out of ten."
"You don't have to pay extra after buying the product."
"There are three to four licensing models available to choose from for CrowdStrike Falcon. The price of CrowdStrike Falcon depends on the distributor and the reseller partner. The price we received was good."
"The pricing is definitely high but you get what you pay for, and it's not so high that it prices itself out of the market."
"The more endpoints an organization adds the cheaper the cost."
"The pricing is not bad. It's on the higher end of the market, but you get what you pay for."
"The pricing is good and there are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"CrowdStrike Falcon offers excellent value for the money for our organization, particularly given our lean IT team."
"The pricing and licensing are fairly good. It is definitely not a cheap product, but I have felt that it is worth the money that we spent. So, we have discussed it in the past, and were like, "Yes, it is probably pricier than some other solutions, but we also feel they really are the leader. We are very comfortable with their level of expertise. So, it's kind of worth the price that we pay.""
"I do not have experience with the cost or licensing of the product."
