Facilitates integration of test scenarios while needing modernization of components
CucumberStudio is primarily used for designing test scenarios and automating testing. We have implemented it in conjunction with our own routines for integration into our infrastructure CucumberStudio aligns with our strategy for data-driven testing. It supports our product owners in designing…

The solution's most valuable features are the drag-and-drop feature, keyword-driven approach, and reusability of the scripts. The solution has introduced a new feature that helps us identify objects we cannot normally identify. It gives you a fair idea of objects, resolving the object recognition issue. The solution can be used to perform different tests on different machines.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The power of Hiptest is its test cases and campaign management."
"The URL is very useful, and it has a very good UI for deploying information of the scenarios created."
"The best thing is that a person without knowledge about the program can easily understand what happened in our testing process."
"The data table that helps in converting a single script to multiple test cases is very helpful."
"The most valuable feature of CucumberStudio is its use of action words, which allows me to avoid writing test cases from scratch for the most common scenarios."
"Hiptest is a great test management tool for agile teams."
"CucumberStudio aligns with our strategy for data-driven testing."
"The most valuable feature is the re-usability of action words."
"Valuable for us is the ability to identify objects by using Find methods."
"This has allowed us to make significant product changes, new server deployments, and hosting changes with high confidence."
"TestComplete is much more flexible, light, and easy to use."
"The solution's most valuable features are the drag-and-drop feature, keyword-driven approach, and reusability of the scripts."
"The most valuable feature is the integration with Azure DevOps."
"The most valuable feature is the integration with Azure DevOps, as we can use it to integrate everything that we are running in the test automation tool, which is linked directly to the test cases."
"TestComplete is extremely efficient when it comes to scripting."
"TestComplete fits almost almost perfectly with a large amount of stacks, such as Delphi, C#, Java and web applications, making it an amazing feature for companies that want to automate UI tests on each application built in-house."

Cons

"Copy-pasting something directly from JIRA requires too much modification and formatting."
"I would like to see better customer support."
"It needs some improvement when exporting scenarios into automation code, to make it easier to manage the repeatable action words and tests."
"More tutorials and examples."
"Support with In-App chat is great. However, it would be awesome to have real time support also for PT timezone."
"The reporting needs to be improved."
"The reporting aspect can be improved."
"The reporting and metrics can be improved. E.g.: If we wanted to have metrics across all projects."
"We did not maximize our ROI until we put somebody full-time on our TestComplete endeavours. The tool does have a learning curve, and it wasn't until we had an in-house expert on it that we began to see the benefits of automated testing over traditional QA roles."
"The solution needs more training manuals or some form of online forum for learning. It needs more documentation."
"I pay for support and maintenance; having used the “support” functions through online forums, I can say there is room for improvement."
"The test object repository needs to be improved."
"At times, identifying or locating an element can be somewhat challenging. However, in a recent test update, they introduced Optical Character Recognition (OCR) capability. This introduction has reduced the challenges to some extent, as we can now utilize OCR if the normal method doesn't work. Nevertheless, there is still significant potential for improvement in TestComplete's ability to identify various object elements. I don't have any specific concerns to mention. I have observed significant improvements in TestComplete over the past few years, especially in its support for highly dynamic object elements used in products like Salesforce Dynamics 365. In earlier versions, there were numerous challenges, but the current version is far superior to its predecessors."
"This tool is also very expensive compared to the similar tools in the market. Price needs to be affordable."
"There often are issues with web test execution."
"TestComplete had problems during long hours runs. In some cases it could crash without leaving any logs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Overall, for us, the cost of the TestComplete platform and the three extra modules is around $8,000."
"We have a TestComplete 12 license."
"It comes with a high cost."
"The price is less, compared to other products, such as QTP."
"My advice so far, is that while it’s not quite as powerful and easy to use as UFT, its price tag more than makes up for it."
"The price of SmartBear TestComplete could be less. The main challenge is when it comes to node-locked. They should use a subscription model, such as a monthly-based subscription or, a quarterly-based subscription. Their floating license is very expensive, and this high price should be reduced or provide, at a minimum, a subscription model."
"The license price for a physical machine is cheap, and for virtual machine, it is very expensive."
"It is approximately $6,000 a year."
