Has a user-friendly setup process, but its query language needs improvement
The product has valuable features for the EDR section. We can easily isolate affected machines in the network. It helps us prevent the spreading of malware or ransomware further Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR's query language and stability need improvement. Additionally, its price could be better…

Very easy to use with multiple options for licensing and scaling
Our company uses the solution instead of a traditional antivirus as an endpoint protector. We have all security alerts passed off to a SOC.  We are a football club and have 350 users across coaches, medical staff, and ticketing agents.  The solution is very easy to use.  The solution should add…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Securworks' threat intel seems pretty decent, and they integrate with several solutions we have, such as Azure AD, so all our Microsoft 365 stuff is covered."
"The pricing is flexible."
"The most valuable feature is the support. The support chat. It's always connecting to people. And you open the chat, and it's not about that automated response. It's actually a human being that responds to you."
"There are some patent pending detectors within the platform that provides a lot of value."
"This solution gathers the information logs from all devices and correlates all the information. It notifies us of any critical events taking place across our networks which has been valuable."
"The most valuable features are IDS and IPS."
"We don't have a full SOC, so it's helpful to have them sifting through our alerts and only bringing actionable items to us."
"We can easily isolate affected machines in the network."
"SentinelOne Vigilance is a very stable solution."
"SentinelOne Vigilance has very good detection."
"The most valuable feature is that it works and isn't compromised. Other solutions I have used have all been compromised and SentinelOne is the only one that hasn't been compromised as far as I understand."
"The most valuable feature is protection against ransomware and malware."
"The SentinelOne Active EDR is the most valuable feature."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"Stable solution for protecting, deploying, and managing endpoints, and comes with valuable features such as behavioral analytics and machine learning."
"SentinelOne has a rollback feature that has helped them gain popularity in the market. No other competitors of the solution including Cisco, Fortinet, or Cortex XDR have this feature. SentinelOne is a kernel-independent solution. We don’t need to check the kernel dependency on the Linux platform. They also commit to a 100 percent recovery from ransomware attacks. The solution has rollback features for ransomware on Windows."

Cons

"Tamper-proofing or tamper protection is still pending in Secureworks. Tamper protection will make it more secure. If I'm an admin of a device, I can uninstall an agent without the knowledge of the security or Secureworks admin. If someone gets hold of one endpoint with admin credentials, he can remove anything, and an organization will lose visibility. They need to work on providing more visibility across endpoints. A couple of times it has happened that the cloak agent is there, but it did not get activated, or there were some issues. The machine was restarted, but the cloak agent didn't run. In such cases, you have to troubleshoot. It is a big issue if a cyber attack is happening, and your machine is rebooted, but the events are not captured."
"The integration would look better with other products, with other EDRs, with other firewalls, with other older versions of firewalls, and the versions of software and hardware."
"It would be nice if the solution were a little more affordable."
"We did a PoC of their next-gen antivirus product, but it wasn't ready yet. It was underdeveloped and caused a lot of issues. We'd like to move away from Carbon Black, but they said that it's probably still not to a point where we'd be happy with it. Carbon Black and RedCloak seem to work fine for us."
"In terms of ROI, I'd be surprised if there is any investment return on the SIM."
"Dell Secureworks could improve its integration with other third-party solutions."
"Dell Secureworks is for higher-end customers and it's not quite as straightforward to implement or to get up and running as some of the other solutions."
"The deployment could definitely be improved."
"I have found issues with the solution’s stability and implementation. The solution has performance issues. I would like the solution to launch the rollback plan for ransomware on Linux and Mac. It should be something similar to the support that Windows gets."
"When upgrades are required on the server, you need to almost remove SentinelOne Vigilance completely off the system. We put SentinelOne Vigilance on silence for the monitor mode, but we were having trouble upgrading the server. I had to remove SentinelOne Vigilance completely from the server, but that meant that all the previous logs of attacks I wanted to look at on the server were gone. This is one thing they need to improve, they need better compatibility with the Microsoft Windows service. I should not have to remove the agent completely to upgrade the service."
"SentinelOne Vigilance's integration capabilities with other products can be considered as an area with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"The solution should add endpoint clients for mobile and Linux devices because it currently doesn't support them."
"My only complaint is that the knowledge base is not accessible to the customer."
"I suspect that the areas for improvement may not necessarily lie within the tool itself but rather in our organization's lack of knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity. Cybersecurity is a complex area, and our organization has a skill set deficit. Therefore, we rely on our cybersecurity support company to help us manage the tool and handle incidents. Our limited expertise sometimes prevents us from fully utilizing them or identifying potential gaps."
"SentinelOne Vigilance doesn't have a direct connection with MSPs."
"Occasionally during an update, customers may temporarily be without protection until the upgrade is complete."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing of Dell Secureworks is very reasonable."
"Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR is very expensive and could be more cost-effective."
"It is expensive but there is no better product than this."
"The pricing for this solution is reasonable. One agent costs approximately 270 dirhams/70 USD for one year. There is a reduction in cost per licence as the number of licences used increases."
"The price is kind of on par. The licensing was comparable to other solutions. It's not particularly high or low."
"The Red Cloak agent is free."
"Initially, the cost was going to be something around $160 or $170. And eventually, I think they brought it down to $110 and they also threw in some endpoint protection platforms."
"The licensing cost depends on the number of connected devices and whether you purchase additional services."
"SentinelOne Vigilance is priced in a normal range."
"I rate the product's pricing an eight out of ten since it is really expensive, but it is well worth what my company gets."
"I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten since it is a very highly-priced solution."
"The solution’s pricing is very reasonable."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten."
"The tool's pricing is slightly cheaper than other alternatives. It's not just about licensing costs; because we already have it implemented, we can save money on deployment and initial setup. Additionally, SentinelOne Vigilance is slightly cheaper in licensing, maybe around 10-15 percent cheaper."
"I give the cost a three out of ten."
