File-sharing options and ease of collaboration or meetings allow for quick collaborations and chats
I work in my company's IT department, so I use all of the products under Office 365 daily, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and all the other components in the product. My company can't make it through a day or go by without using the products offered under Office 365. Some of our manufacturing workers may use Office 365 a lot less, but it is still necessary for things like Microsoft Outlook and Exchange. I found Microsoft Teams to be the most valuable feature of the solution, along with all of the products and features offered under Office 365. My organization has remote workers, and we can't run the company without meetings organized with the help of Microsoft Teams.

Outdated user-interface and offers basic functionality, they have great marketing but only deliver the basics
I was previously a satisfied customer of OnlyMyEmail. Unfortunately, they had a significant technical failure and couldn't provide security for a week, causing them to lose their biggest client. That's when I switched to Bitdefender for email security. I used Bitdefender. But it didn't meet my needs. I used it for two years. Its technology was far inferior to OnlyMyEmail. I also looked into Censornet. However, I eventually obtained a server license for SpamTitan. Currently, I am one of the slightly happy. customer of SpamTitan. It works when it wants to, it doesn't want, it doesn't work. The main difference between SpamTitan and OnlyMyEmail was accuracy. I never saw false positives with OnlyMyEmail in the ten years I used it. It just worked as it should, and at a very low price. I'm not sure what technology they used, but it was excellent. I was paying around one dollar and something cents per email address per month.

Provides effective filtering for spam, phishing, and suspicious emails
In terms of improvement, reducing false positives would improve the system. If there were fewer false positives, it would be nearly perfect. In the next release, I would like to see improved detection for emails containing only text, especially if they seem suspicious but lack links or attachments. Currently, Trend Micro Email Security is effective with emails containing links or attachments, but those with only text can slip through unnoticed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is data backups that we can provide through ticket requests."
"The most valuable aspect of Microsoft Defender for Office 365 is its ability to protect us from malware."
"It gives us visibility into threats and, for endpoints, it helps us to prioritize threats. We used to have a lack of visibility, but now our time to detect and respond has decreased."
"The solution is very easy to use. All you have to do is to assign the license to the end-user and it's done. The customer will only have the feature activated, and the solution will monitor the emails to determine if they are a threat or not."
"Our customers are satisfied with Defender for 365 because Microsoft products are easy to use and customize to meet the client's needs. Everything is in one place, so we can adjust policies as needed for phishing, DLP, ATP, or any other security features that our clients want to apply."
"Since we have started using the solution, there have been fewer compromises."
"One of the best features of the tool is its capability to aggregate insights from different workloads, basically from the Office 365 and endpoints part."
"We use Microsoft Defender for its ability to integrate with existing business technologies, which is beneficial for protecting business areas."
"Another feature of SpamTitan that I like is the reporting. We are able to identify the users or accounts that have been attacked most. We can see information that shows us the sites that the user goes to, and that helps in launching an investigation of that user and how they use our resources."
"The spam filtering is the most valuable part. When we first started using it, 15 years ago, there weren't many solutions that worked well, were user-friendly, and powerful."
"The most valuable feature is the Link Lock, which prevents our users from clicking on links that haven't been verified."
"If all you have is a solution that looks at every piece of email and applies the same types of rules, you don't get a very smart solution. Whereas, if you can do it per mailbox or per domain, like you can with SpamTitan, that means you are effectively able to configure it almost per-user, which is great."
"We are satisfied with the performance and spam filtering provided by TitanHQ SpamTitan. The reporting feature and customizations as per our requirements are also good."
"The granularity of the setup is most valuable. It has all the features we need from global settings to per-user settings. We are pretty happy with it."
"I have found the feature that creates seamless categorization of emails valuable. This is most likely done by having a large database to compare and to identify what are the domains that are currently spammers."
"The user interface for regular users is quite intuitive. The email report that they receive is pretty self-explanatory. The online interface for administrators is simple yet really quite effective. It's really a set-it-and-forget-it, and everything is available when needed."
"The most valuable feature of Trend Micro Email Security is the security level it provides. The solution is efficient."
"The integration capability of the solution is good."
"The interface is really good."
"The tool provides a strong defense against attacks. It is also easy to use. Trend Micro Email Security's integration capabilities are great."
"The technical support is good."
"Trend Micro Email Security scans all email attachments because, nowadays, ransomware or malware files are sent through email attachments."
"The best features are that it is very convenient to configure new rules onto it and it gives very good insight on what has entered my system and what the email security solution has taken action upon."
"The solution's most valuable feature is ATP (Advanced Threat Protection), which utilizes the machine learning algorithm."

Cons

"Microsoft should provide more documentation for users so they can self-educate. I would like to see more documentation for advanced security features."
"The changes to customer service, specifically the new model for support agreements, are not favorable."
"This product's effectiveness could be improved, in terms of detecting unwanted spam or even malware between the emails, compared to other products."
"I am generally satisfied with how it currently is. If I could improve anything, I would reduce the cost."
"Microsoft Defender for Office 365 must improve the overall management style, including the GUI. It also needs to change the filters so that it is easy to whitelist and blacklist data."
"The only thing they should improve is the licensing model. They should stop changing it. A year ago, the five features I mentioned were included in one product. Now, three of them are bundled into one product, and you have to pay extra for the other two. I don't mind paying extra, but I don't want them to change it every year or every six months. I need to know what I'm looking at and not worry about it next year."
"The XDR dashboard has room for improvement."
"The phishing and spam filters could use some improvement."
"There is room for improvement in automation; better wizards for deployment, for example."
"The interface looks a little dated and could be modernized."
"We are using the data center version with a dedicated server. It would be more user-friendly if SpamTitan were centralized. That is, TitanHQ should have a SaaS model for SpamTitan."
"They could improve on the color of the interface."
"The admin management portal needs a facelift. I've asked them for a way to authenticate admins of the organizations that want to admin the SpamTitan product itself. Adding additional management security would be a great feature. There are a few tiny improvements they could also make. For instance, the GUI itself is a little outdated, and it could be more user friendly. The same goes for ArcTitan. It's got a horrible GUI that's worse than SpamTitan. It also could use that authentication mechanism upgrade as well. I would also suggest combining the two products into one control panel. ."
"The inter mailbox email flow needs improvement. If you are in the same domain, it does not have the capability to transfer one email to the same domain through SpamTitan. They need an API for Office 365 which is currently being developed"
"The documentation for how to configure it could be better. Sometimes, it was confusing. When we were onboarding with them, the documentation was a little bit vague on how to configure the DNS server and our email server."
"The support hours are tough for U.S.-based companies like ours, because they're in Europe. They did tell me that they're opening a support office in the U.S. There is, currently, some overlap in support, but it's difficult to get real-time support and, a lot of the time, I just need a quick answer."
"There needs to be more documentation for the product."
"In our company, we found out that the solution wasn't well-tested by Trend Micro, resulting in a performance and bandwidth problem."
"The tool's dashboard is old."
"I would like to see more integration of Trend Micro Email Security with different platforms."
"There is room for improvement in threat detection, especially for advanced attacks and business email compromise."
"The product must provide better customization features."
"Trend Micro Email Security could improve by advancing its artificial intelligence in email security. There are rules that have to be configured. There should be less configuring."
"While they are good, not 100% of email is protected just yet."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's a user-base subscription."
"From the pricing point of view, like any other product in the market, there is scope for negotiation."
"The product is expensive."
"Defender for 365 comes in various plans and licenses, along with other Microsoft security solutions. Purchasing this kind of package or security bundle gives good value for money, and that's what I recommend."
"The product is very expensive."
"I was working in the government and it was too expensive for us to use our Microsoft products."
"The pricing is normal. Considering its popularity, it's not overpriced."
"It is much more expensive than using another solution because we have had to include some options and upgrade our license."
"The pricing was a little bit below the average of what we were looking at."
"The price of SpamTitan is reasonable. It makes sense. There is no cost for me because I'm the managed service provider. The end customer pays the cost because we sell professional services to set up the whole solution, including SpamTitan and other products. Usually, it's part of a much bigger project."
"For the service, the pricing is reasonable."
"The reason that they can be so reasonable with their cost is that they don't have to spend a lot on support. It's such a stable product that you're not needing to contact them that much. If their customers don't need to call support every other day, they can give them a solution that is cost-effective."
"The approximate cost is around $7000 USD."
"SpamTitan has competitive pricing and flexible licensing. They allow up to 10% more that you use and then add it to the next tier of licenses."
"It's not extremely expensive. Other solutions get really pricey, really fast."
"The pricing and licensing have been very fair. I can't complain."
"The price of Trend Micro Email Security is more than Sophos' similar solution."
"The cost is about $6,000 for 300 users for one year."
"Trend Micro Email Security's pricing is reasonable."
"The price of Trend Micro Email Security is annual. There are no additional fees."
"The solution is inexpensive so we recommend it to small to mid-sized businesses."
"The solution's pricing is very optimum, given its quality, features, and stability."
"The tool must improve its pricing."
"Price-wise, it is a cheap solution. I rate the solution's pricing a one on a scale of one to ten, where ten is expensive. Annual payments are made for the licensing."
