For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using the solution for two years. It's been a while.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We've had a positive experience with the stability. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability has been excellent. If we want to expand it, we can do so. It's easy.

We're up to 75 users and they include project managers, a project stakeholder team, and project team members.

We use the product extensively. However, I'm not sure if we plan to increase usage, as I'm not sure if we plan to increase users.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support is excellent. They are helpful and responsive. We're very satisfied with the help they provide to us.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We moved right into Monday. It's my understanding that we didn't previously use another solution.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup isn't overly complex or difficult. It's very straightforward and quite simple.

The entire setup only takes a few hours. Deployment is fast.

The product doesn't require a lot of maintenance. It takes less than one person to manage it.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the solution completely in-house. We didn't need to hire an integrator or consultant to assist us.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is quite inexpensive. For example, we pay $8,500 for 75 users. It's somewhere around $100 a user, approximately.

There aren't any extras that you need to pay for.

What other advice do I have?

We are a customer and an end-user. We don't have a business relationship with Monday.com.

We're using the latest version of the solution.

While it is deployed on the cloud, I'm not sure which cloud service we are using.

I'd advise those considering the solution to first run a pilot project first to try it out and get to know it.

Overall, I would rate the solution at a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Great "My Week" view and task list with easy to adjust schedules
Pros and Cons
  • "The "My Week" view and task list are probably the most helpful for us - it's really great to set a project schedule and assign people to tasks."
  • "The addition of subtasks was really great. It helps reduce a lot of the clutter on our boards. However, sometimes it is inhibitive to use them as the features available using main tasks don't apply to subtasks."

What is our primary use case?

We use Monday for project management across our marketing projects and for budget management for campaigns. We have a small team, so it's really important that we are as efficient as possible and there's just no bandwidth for micromanaging a process. We need it to run smoothly on its own.

For the most part, we collaborate on a process, put it in Monday with assignments, and then the project essentially runs itself as long as we are sticking to the timeline that we set the project up with. It saves us a lot of time.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday gives us more visibility into the overall bandwidth of our team and makes it much easier to collaborate across several projects without losing emails or random Slack messages across different channels or group chats. This has given us one central place for information related to our various projects so time spent searching for answers or managing project timelines is greatly decreased. It also lets us manage workload so we are able to advocate for enforcing priorities within the organization.

What is most valuable?

The "My Week" view and task list are probably the most helpful for us - it's really great to set a project schedule and assign people to tasks. That way, they can have a preview of their work for the week and stay accountable for deliverables with no surprises.

It's also easy to adjust schedules right within that view and give updates to the broader team so everyone stays on the same page.

The added accountability and efficiency allow us to spend time on doing the work rather than figuring out how to do the work

What needs improvement?

The addition of subtasks was really great. It helps reduce a lot of the clutter on our boards. However, sometimes it is inhibitive to use them as the features available using main tasks don't apply to subtasks. It would be really great if we could calculate some of the same things or use them in dashboards or the different views that are available.

I know sometimes we can, however, it's not consistent so it's hard to know when we're limiting ourselves by using the subtasks instead of the main tasks in a group.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for three years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not use a different solution previously.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There's a lot of value in using Monday. User adoption is key, however. You get out of it what you put into it. If you're using it for project management, it can easily fail if even one or two people aren't bought in.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate other options.

Great live updating, allows accessibility from various devices and has great dashboards
Pros and Cons
  • "When you have a tool that anybody can use from all devices, it spares some time so that you could do and handle way more things."
  • "We would like to have more open boards at one time and more CRM functionalities."

What is our primary use case?

It's a great app for project leading. As an event and promotion agency, we're more than ever very sensitive to all the costs of managing and communicating streams of understanding. We also use it for event and shift scheduling.

It's great for feedback with clients where you could have all the relevant information associated with a particular project in one place. The solution is great for sharing attachments and links for all photo albums on our Google Drive.

I definitely use it for my personal goals and projects.

All the improvements though years are very handy.

How has it helped my organization?

We were struggling with duplicate information previously and Monday brought more effectiveness to our work in many ways. We could share all information in one "live" stream.

With a client "on board" who's are very comfortable with this particular service, it helps to improve business relationships as well.

When you have a tool that anybody can use from all devices, it spares some time so that you could do and handle way more things.

The custom-made boards and solutions are good.

What is most valuable?

The dashboard is great for knowing what's most important and what's next.

What needs improvement?

We would like to have more open boards at one time and more CRM functionalities.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've used the solution for four years - since 2018.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is great.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is great.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Asana. It was too difficult.

What was our ROI?

We've had an ROI of $560 USD.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'd advise new users to always check you filled out their VAT ID.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not look at other options. It was love at first sight.

What other advice do I have?

I'd advise customers to try it for free first and then decide.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Easy to on-board new users, offers great templates, and has helpful visual representations of projects
Pros and Cons
  • "It's really easy to use."
  • "It spams my inbox with many unwanted emails."

What is our primary use case?

We use the product to deal with micro-projects that are going through multiple stages, such as quoting products, ordering samples, designing, production and finally shipping. Having all these allows all members of our team to be aware of where we are right now.

We use different boards too and I like that projects of different boards still can be connected.

We basically use it as a to-do list as well for everything, even to purchase office supplies, which is great as we don't need to use multiple communication channels.

How has it helped my organization?

It helped a lot to be honest. We now have a good visual representation of what we are doing. Before, our projects were piled and we could not really see the progress of each one, or at what stage we were at. However, when we started to use Monday, we sorted out all the mess and now the picture looks quite pretty.

Having an opportunity to leave comments in the body of the project allows us to keep all information within one software, instead of sending endless emails and possibly missing some important details.

What is most valuable?

I like that we can move projects from one stage to another, which also allows user to track the progress. It's really easy to use. When we have new people to on-board it does not take hours to train them on how to use this platform.

Another beneficial part is that we can use templates, which also make a user's life way easier. At the same time, for those who feel like templates are too boring, there is an option to customize the interface. Basically, every little need can be satisfied. moreover, it offers in-app automation.

What needs improvement?

So far, I am happy, however, I know that Gantt charts and calendar views aren’t available on the entry-level plan - even if you’re paying $24 per month. To access time tracking and private boards, you’ll need to upgrade to the third tier.

It spams my inbox with many unwanted emails.

We are using a very simple project, therefore I can't see many drawbacks, however, it looks like if we were dealing with complicated projects, some things would possibly get lost. Therefore, having subtasks is a must; it has to be managed well.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for around a year and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is fine.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is very good.

How are customer service and support?

I've never had an issue.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

When I joined, the team was already using Monday.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

I don't know if the company asked for help from outside vendors.

What was our ROI?

I don't have ROI information.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I dont have any access to this information.

Great for managing small projects, but communication can be difficult
Pros and Cons
  • "The value is that monday.com provides us with an overall picture of how much work a teammate has."
  • "Sometimes allocating between team members via the communication tool can be difficult."

What is our primary use case?

monday.com is a project management tool.

Within our organization, there are 20 to 25 employees using this solution.

In our firm, different people have different roles, and sometimes we need to communicate. Some people are remote workers — some people are probably in Toronto, and other team members are in Vancouver. We use this tool to communicate. Our boss can follow a project and see how far along it is. He can talk to specific people if something is not going very well.

We don't have to deal with maintenance as monday.com is on the cloud.

What is most valuable?

The value is that monday.com provides us with an overall picture of how much work a teammate has, and for each team member, and how they're doing. I don't think it's an excellent tool to monitor how the team members are progressing, but it's a tool that can be used.

What needs improvement?

Sometimes allocating between team members via the communication tool can be difficult. If one team member is responsible for two or three things at the same time, from the dashboard, the boss can only see one. This could be related to a configuration issue, I am not sure. We tried to solve it, but we haven't succeeded. Whenever one person is in charge of two jobs at the same time for the same project, our boss has to ask again, and again.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using monday.com for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I think it's quite stable. It has only crashed one or two times — that's it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, I think it's good. Every time our team is all on monday.com, I don't see any kind of problems with the server being overloaded or anything like that. It's been working very well over the past two years.

How are customer service and support?

I think the technical support is okay. I've only had to talk to them once because my account froze. I contacted them and it was solved very quickly.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used the trial version — probably just for two weeks. My boss didn't like it so we switched to the premium version of monday.com.

How was the initial setup?

I was not involved in the initial setup. I am just an everyday user.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I wasn't involved with the licensing, but I believe it's negotiable.

What other advice do I have?

If you're looking for a tool to manage simple projects, then this is a tool that can be used. Still, don't expect too much from the tool. I think the communication part is the most important part.

Overall, on a scale from one to ten, I would give monday.com a rating of seven.

Excellent auto-notifications, search functionality, and filtering
Pros and Cons
  • "The stability is good."
  • "It would be great to be able to pull an activity report."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for our hiring tracker.

How has it helped my organization?

It helped us automate our hiring/onboarding process.

What is most valuable?

We like the traffic light system, the auto-notifications, the search function, and the filtering functionality.

What needs improvement?

It would be great to be able to pull an activity report.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is good.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't had to use technical support yet.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We primarily used Excel spreadsheets which offered less automation.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was simple and easy to use with clear instructions.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the implementation in-house.

What was our ROI?

I don't know if we have seen any ROI.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate other options.

Great chat functionality with helpful forms and templates
Pros and Cons
  • "I use the templates function to create standard templates for my project plans that I can easily duplicate and disperse organizationally."
  • "I would love to be able to hide rows visibility. Currently, this is only available for columns."

What is our primary use case?

I am a project manager in a leadership consulting organization. My role includes managing our leadership development programs and keeping all stakeholders looped in and appraised of my progress. It is a fast-paced environment and Monday.com helps me stay on track with all my projects and tasks.

I use the software to manage long term and short term projects, track project expenses and keep my account manager informed of my progress. I also invite key stakeholders as guests to the project plans. Monday.com makes it easy for me to maintain visibility into my progress.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com has increased transparency and visibility and also helps me keep track of all my projects and stakeholders.

When I have multiple projects that are long-term, Monday.com's automations help me remember when I have a task or item due.

They have also helped me manage my stakeholders better. By inviting my stakeholders to my project plans, they are up to date on the progress.

As a team, we use Monday.com to communicate, tag one another in updates, and ensure everyone is up to speed. We also use the software to track project expenses.

What is most valuable?

The automation has been helpful in allowing me to automate my projects. I also use the dashboard and Gantt views frequently to track data and to track my projects.

I appreciate the chat function as well and use it to keep my project team members looped in to any project changes.

I use the templates function to create standard templates for my project plans that I can easily duplicate and disperse organizationally.

Another feature I have begun using is the forms linked to Monday.com. I appreciate that I can capture the data and it automatically links to a board.

What needs improvement?

I would love to be able to hide rows visibility. Currently, this is only available for columns.

An additional feature I am interested in is the reporting on the forms. I'd like to see options for report templates based on the Monday.com forms. I occasionally use Monday.com to generate survey responses, and want a cleaner report template to share with them.

Other than that, I don't have any other ideas of areas that Monday.com could improve. They do a wonderful job!

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for 2.5 years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not use a different solution.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I was not part of the selection process.

Great structure, helpful integrations, and lots of excellent features
Pros and Cons
  • "The structure it has, the sites, the boards, and how easily you can transfer information from one place to the other is great."
  • "Alongside the integrations, a Mailchimp one would help to add tags directly from Monday to the Mailchimp account."

What is our primary use case?

We are a start-up based in Mexico City that's mostly focused on selling online courses and giving consultancies to parishes and universities. We use Monday to keep track of our online presence on social media (followers, engagement rate, and so on).

We use it to keep track of our database and the CRM of our customers and allies. We also find it very helpful to make forms for events and to channel all the information in one specific board and then at the end of the month to see it all visually really impacts our decision-making process to make improvements.

How has it helped my organization?

It has saved us a lot of time in emails and going back and forth with feedback about processes, especially for our community manager in the area of the content approval to upload.

It has also helped us to have all the historic decisions we've made for the past four years in a single click, we don't have to deep dive into our computers because we have it all on our boards. It has also helped us to easily to see all our databases in charts and drawings.

To be honest, we know that we don't use half as much of the things that are offered to us by Monday.com but we are looking forward to helping it improving more our day-to-day.

What is most valuable?

The Monday features that we find more helpful are these three:

1. The structure it has, the sites, the boards, and how easily you can transfer information from one place to the other is great.

2. The integrations. Even though we haven't used nearly 1/4 of the ones that Monday offers, we have managed to reduce time going from app to app with just one integration.

3. The import option from an Excel doc into a board is great. Sometimes this option doesn't work as well. It appears to have some error that deletes it immediately and doesn't allow us to change the names of the columns.

What needs improvement?

It would help to have the option to use formulas horizontally as well as vertically in order to keep track of certain things that are accumulative.  Also, we would like the integration of mails EMAP for us to be able to use our company email and not only with the Gmail integration.

Another thing that we would find helpful is to have an integration with Meta Business, so the analytics report would automatically be uploaded to the boards for us to have a report visually with all the other ones.

Alongside the integrations, a Mailchimp one would help to add tags directly from Monday to the Mailchimp account.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for more than four years.
