Saving primarily time, we have a high ROI
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features are ease of use and deployment."
  • "I am looking forward to seeing writing on Linux in the web and WorkBatch in the next release."

What is our primary use case?

We wanted to have more automation around our customers' processes. We do claim insurance type processing. Therefore, we wanted a process for their first notice of loss and a lot of the government regulations that they have to handle.

How has it helped my organization?

We started using the tool in-house to help us deploy a lot of our own internal processes. We also use it to deploy Automation Anywhere bots to set up other virtual machines and deploy software.

We have automated sending out a first notice of loss. We have done some automation of incoming documents, but it has been somewhat hard. Therefore, we are looking at IQ Bot, as a possible solution.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are ease of use and deployment. It has very good ease of use.

It integrates very well with other applications.

What needs improvement?

I am looking forward to seeing writing on Linux in the web and WorkBatch in the next release.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is very good. I haven't had any issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is very good. I haven't had any issues.

From pilot to our current number of bots, it took about two months.

How are customer service and technical support?

The technical support is very good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We chose Automation Anywhere over other solutions due to the ease of deployment. We had also looked at UiPath, but their deployment was more difficult. We have some on-premise clients, so we were going to have to also deploy Automation Anywhere for them in their environment, and we needed something easy to roll out.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We used a reseller for the deployment.

What was our ROI?

Our return on investment is high. We have saved primarily time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

If you are looking into Automation Anywhere, get the Community Edition and play with it.

What other advice do I have?

I like the Automation Anywhere University courses.

We are looking at using IQ Bot to digitize documents.

User-friendly and works well for web automation and SAP automation
Pros and Cons
  • "I like web automation and SAP application automation."
  • "I like web automation and SAP application automation."
  • "Sometimes, I find that Excel automation is not as expected. Excel automation can be enhanced."
  • "The Automation Anywhere community is less active than the UiPath community, which is a downside. When I ask questions in the Automation Anywhere community, responses take a longer time."

What is our primary use case?

I am working as an RPA Developer, and I am expected to create bots that simplify people's jobs, allowing them to focus on more important tasks. I am tasked with creating robotic processes.

How has it helped my organization?

Business analysts come to us with their problems and want to find out if we can address them with robotic process automation. My role is to confirm whether we can do it with Automation Anywhere. They handle the metrics calculations in terms of the impact on the business, but I am informed that with Automation Anywhere, we have streamlined processes, eliminating errors and reducing time. Previously, these jobs were performed manually, but with Automation Anywhere, they can concentrate on more significant tasks.

Its integration with Outlook and SharePoint was easy with the help of the Automation Anywhere team. After we got information about the connection strings and other things from them, integration was easy.

What is most valuable?

I like web automation and SAP application automation.

It has a good interface. Those who do not have programming experience can easily use Automation Anywhere. It is very easy to learn. Within three months, they can start creating basic automation.

What needs improvement?

Sometimes, I find that Excel automation is not as expected. Excel automation can be enhanced. For instance, to accomplish tasks faster, I use scripts. However, if I could achieve the same speed without scripting, that would be ideal.

For web automation, the recorder package can be improved. It is sometimes hard to catch certain elements on the web.

The Automation Anywhere community is less active than the UiPath community, which is a downside. When I ask questions in the Automation Anywhere community, responses take a longer time. I have checked the UiPath community, where there are more active participants.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used this solution for a bit more than four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is stable. I would rate it a nine out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable. It is being used for automation for multiple departments. I am working in the RPA team. My company has more than 100 people, but the RPA team has seven people using Automation Anywhere. I would rate it a nine out of ten for scalability.

How are customer service and support?

When I encounter difficulties, I raise a ticket with the Automation Anywhere team. They respond promptly and are willing to help, but some team members seem to lack the necessary skills. As a result, problems that typically should be resolved in one day may take three days.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I only have experience with Automation Anywhere.

How was the initial setup?

I have not installed Automation Anywhere.

The deployment of automated tasks is easy. I can do it in two minutes. I have used both on-premises and cloud models. In terms of maintenance, the bots usually require updates when there is an issue or there is an update from Automation Anywhere. It is usually once every three months.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I do not know the price, but I am told that it is cheaper than UiPath.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this product to other users because it is user-friendly, and I appreciate its features, such as SAP automation and web automation.

We have not yet used AI in Automation Anywhere, but there is an upcoming course on integrating AI, which I will attend.

Overall, I would rate Automation Anywhere an eight out of ten.

Reliable, scalable, and responsive technical support
Pros and Cons
  • "The technical support has been good in my experience. However, you need to use the latest version to get the right level of support. If it is an end-of-life version, you might not get support from Automation Anywhere."
  • "Automation Anywhere can improve by implementing a Citrix environment and increasing the stability of tools, such as IQ bot."

What is our primary use case?

Automation Anywhere (AA) can be deployed on the cloud or on premise. For the cloud deployments, we have had customers using Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS.

I have been using Automation Anywhere in managing insurance business lines, such as personal property and commercial.

What needs improvement?

Automation Anywhere can improve by implementing a Citrix environment and increasing the stability of tools, such as IQ bot.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere (AA) for approximately four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere has been stable in my experience. The performance has been good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of Automation Anywhere is good. There have not been any problems.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support has been good in my experience. However, you need to use the latest version to get the right level of support. If it is an end-of-life version, you might not get support from Automation Anywhere.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I do not see a large difference when it comes to what Automation Anywhere offers compared to other similar solutions, such as UiPath. I wanted to implement IQ Bot for customers and this is going to be my main focus.

How was the initial setup?

The initial implementation is straightforward. Most people are using the orchestrator on the cloud or the control room and when it comes to the creator and bot runner, it will always be on the on-premise. The cloud implementation is easy, you do not have to install anything, and when we use it in the Automation Anywhere Cloud, it becomes even easier.

The time it takes for the implementation depends on the environmental requirements. For example, if it is single or multi-node architecture. If it is a single node, it is straightforward.  If it is a multi-node architecture, then it will take a little time. You just have to understand the other component that is present, such as any secondary server.

What about the implementation team?

The is more maintenance to be done to Automation Anywhere when compared to Blue Prism.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of Automation Anywhere is a little higher than some of the competition, such as UiPath. However, depending on the use case and other factors we are able to receive some discounts.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have evaluated Blue Prism.

What other advice do I have?

It is important for those wanting to implement any solution to explore their use case. This will help determine whether Automation Anywhere will be an appropriate fit. For example, if you are looking at large-scale operations. There are many things to consider before you choose any tools.

I rate Automation Anywhere a seven out of ten.

Good training material, and the cognitive features are easy to apply
Pros and Cons
  • "Training videos are very good and include detailed examples, which is really helpful for beginners."
  • "I would like to see them continue building out documentation with more video-aides."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case is assisting clients in automating redundant, repetitive tasks to drive value and efficiency.

How has it helped my organization?

Working with the Automation Anywhere application is very easy in our environment. It has allowed us to win more work and prove value to our clients.

What is most valuable?

AI and ML integrations are also easy to apply, as well as cognitive features.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see them continue building out documentation with more video-aides.

Training is good and interactive, although the final certification exam is very tough and requires practical, in-depth knowledge. The certification exam for AA is not as per the training videos, as the questions are more scenario-based. This makes it very hard for beginners to clear the exam after just tutorial knowledge.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Automation Anywhere is a good RPA tool, but not so good if we compare it with UiPath.

The drag-and-drop feature is quite similar to that of UiPath.

Saves us a huge amount of man-hours
Pros and Cons
  • "Automation Anywhere provides the best application to use for RPA and other automation requirements. It's very easy to use and easy to understand. It's UI(user interface) which is so friendly and easily understand by the user, it is very easy to install automation anywhere product simply click on next to install, it is easy to develop bot and no coding knowledge is required to develop"
  • "Configuring A2019 and using it is getting a little difficult because of frequent errors of compatibility. It is not so user friendly like the enterprise desktop version."

What is our primary use case?

I automated an application launched through the Citrix environment. The application was running on the SIT environment. Our application was a legacy desktop telecom domain application that runs on a Citrix environment. It was a very difficult task to automate our legacy application and we have seen only one tool which was able to successfully implement the automation. I have come to know about the AA tool and wanted to try this tool. And we are successfully able to automate a few of our flows with high accuracy and we have since then used AA for some of our functional executions on our legacy desktop application.

I have also implemented AA for the business process of logging into the work machine, opening remote desktop, and triggering some jobs during odd times. We have also made use of AA to keep our remote desktops active so that they do not get logged out and become a hurdle for our tasks during non-office hours.

How has it helped my organization?

After using AA for some of the flows, we identified that the execution time was reduced by 70% when compared to the other automation tool that we have been using for 8 years. As we didn't find any other tool that supports our legacy application automation, we have been using the existing one for the past 8 years. But once we tried with AA, our POC was successful and we are able to automate some of our flows and execute them. We have been saving huge man-hours by using AA. AA has made us to implement a new automation tool for the testing of our legacy application.

What is most valuable?

Automation Anywhere provides the best application to use for RPA and other automation requirements. It's very easy to use and easy to understand. It's UI(user interface) is user-friendly and easily understood by users, it is very easy to install Automation Anywhere. Simply click on next to install. It is easy to develop a bot, and no coding knowledge is required to develop.

AA has another feature BOT STORE which contains pre-built bots for most commonly used applications like sap, oracle, etc and last but not least IQ bot features which are used to extract unstructured or semi-structure data from pdf, images, emails, etc. Automation Anywhere also provides a dashboard so you can check your bot details like bot accuracy, bot failure details, and ratio, etc. It helps to find errors. It also provides error handling commands so if you know the bot may get any error so you can handle it.

What needs improvement?

Configuring A2019 and using it is getting a little difficult because of frequent errors of compatibility. It is not so user friendly like the enterprise desktop version. Sometimes the A2019 platform takes too much time in the pre-processing and deployment process which is too time consuming and to solve this we need to restart the services and also sometimes need to restart our machines. This is extra overhead. AA-client is too heavy software. AA-client should support multiple languages. Sometimes the client software needs to login, again and again, every hour and so.

Advanced Machine Learning and AI features with visualization capabilities should be included in the tool so that the product can offer many new use cases and

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for 1 year and 6 months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The bots automated were very stable and was not needed a lot of maintaining effort.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solutions were easy to implement across many machines and using the cloud to run the bots on remote machines was a great feature.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have been using a different solution and finding an alternative tool to help improve productivity. After the AA solution worked for us, we have been using both solutions to improve productivity even more.

How was the initial setup?

It was completely easy and we didn't face any issues in setting up the software for the first time.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented the bot through in-house team.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We have evaluated Tricentis TOSCA and we couldn't be able to automate our legacy application flows with it.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Good support, trigger-based and scheduled automation saves us time and it supports error handling well
Pros and Cons
  • "I like all of the features, especially the MetaBot, REST API, and SAP DLL."
  • "The price is a little high and could be reduced."

What is our primary use case?

I automated Server applications like SAP, ERP, CRM, etc. With SAP, we can use different kinds of automation like BAPI with MetaBot and the SAP GUI with DLL automation.

One of my uses cases to help understand how we use AA is email-related. First, we used to get emails, and based on this as input, we needed to trigger some events in SAP. Depending on the resulting error, we needed to delete some records and further, needed to generate DB for some records (daily around 1,000 records). This is a repetitive process that happens every day.

Mmainly, we implemented SAP tasks related to customer support functionality. We also use it for the creation of PowerBI reports related to sales.

How has it helped my organization?

We have automated approximately 30 processes, reducing the manual effort a lot. Now all of the manual work is handled by the Bot alone.

We trigger by email sometimes, and it is also scheduler-based. We handle errors and can extract information. If the bot is not able to perform any step, then the support team gets into the picture and they will resolve the issue.

What is most valuable?

I like all of the features, especially the MetaBot, REST API, and SAP DLL.

We use the MetaBot to capture all of the screen contents, then if the elements are captured properly, it is fine. Otherwise, we create a custom object that acts as a click function.

What needs improvement?

The price is a little high and could be reduced.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for the past five years and it is one of the best tools to automate manual tasks.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability-wise, Automation Anywhere is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the scalability a 9.8 out of 10.

How are customer service and technical support?

The technical support is good. We directly reach out to the AA guys by raising a ticket, and they also have a forum to resolve issues

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, we went through manual work. It was only with Excel that we had some automation using macros.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price is a little bit high but the support is good.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We compared different RPA vendors and finally, we decided to go for Automation Anywhere as our single RPA solution.

What other advice do I have?

Many new options have been implemented in the cloud version. NLP and G suite automation are also available, among a lot of other options in the A2019. At this point, we just need to explore the options.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Private Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

User-friendly with a helpful screen recording feature, saves time, and reduces errors in manual tasks
Pros and Cons
  • "It an easy, simple, and user-friendly tool that can be accessed through the mobile application as well."
  • "The mobile application can be improved by adding more functions and capabilities abuse right now, only a few features are enabled for mobile users."

What is our primary use case?

We had been handling various daily reports that need manual Excel work. We have now automated those daily tasks using Automation Anywhere, saving an enormous amount of time on the manual effort. It is now human-error-free.

The Screen Recorder feature is the feature that I like the most, as it can automate anything on your desktop screen by recording your actions or the cursor movement. This makes it easy to learn and configure for any type of environment when it comes to automating regular tasks.

How has it helped my organization?

We implemented Automation Anywhere as one of the primary tools for automating various tasks within our organization. We have implemented this tool for various customers as well.

By providing the companies with such a useful and productive tool, they save a lot of time and money on tasks that can be performed by small bots.

It an easy, simple, and user-friendly tool that can be accessed through the mobile application as well. You can control and monitor your bot through mobile apps, which creates flexibility in handling the software.

What is most valuable?

The Automation Anywhere Screen Recorder feature allows us to do things very easily. It's easy to automate regular and routine tasks. It can automate anything on your desktop screen by recording your actions or the cursor movement, so it is easy to learn and configure for any type of environment.

There are three features by which you can automate things. You also do have the console window to monitor each action the tool is performing. You can correct the code if you feel it captured some wrong action.

What needs improvement?

I would like to have a simple bot dashboard window for admins to manage things easily. This is important when an organization has a huge number of tasks to be automated because managing tasks can be complex.

It would be very helpful if the bot dashboard were simplified for admins.

The mobile application can be improved by adding more functions and capabilities abuse right now, only a few features are enabled for mobile users.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Automation Anywhere for the past two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is quite stable and we do receive a lot of updates that enhance and add more features.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a highly scalable application.

How are customer service and technical support?

So far, it's good and responsive customer support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We do use other RPA solutions, although I don't want to mention the names. The simplicity of this application makes it a win.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented it through a vendor team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't deal have cost specifics but I can say it is a tool that provides value for the money.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Automation Anywhere, we also evaluated Blue Prism.

What other advice do I have?

In summary, I feel that Automation Anywhere is heading in the right direction.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
