We're primarily using the solution for endpoint protection. We use it for security.
Internal IT manager at a tech services company with 51-200 employees
Easy to set up, stable, and reasonably priced
Pros and Cons
- "The advanced direct control on offer is excellent."
- "The only problem we have, and I don't know if maybe it's the package we bought, is that it lacks the parts of data protection and application blacklisting."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
There's really not any issue with it, so far.
I like the firewall part of it.
The advanced direct control on offer is excellent.
The initial setup is very easy.
The solution is stable.
The product is pretty scalable.
I've found the pricing of the product to be reasonable.
What needs improvement?
The only problem we have, and I don't know if maybe it's the package we bought, is that it lacks the parts of data protection and application blacklisting. I don't think we have that option on this package. Apart from that, we've been using it and we've been seeing the reports. We've had no issues so far. We're just missing the blacklisting and data protection features.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using the solution for about two years at this point. It's been a while.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is very stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable and the performance is good.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have 35 people in our company that are using the solution currently.
The solution can scale. It scales easily. Initially, we started with 30 users and then when we had new other staff that joined. Easy to scale and add others.
How are customer service and support?
I've not really had any issues, and therefore I've not really spoken with any support in regards to our system.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've worked with Sophos previously.
We also previously used Symantec, which is the product we had before Bitdefender.
How was the initial setup?
The setup is not complex. It was simple. We didn't have an issue. It was easily deployed.
That said, I cannot recall exactly how long the deployment took.
The solution doesn't require any real maintenance. Usually, whenever there are any changes or outages you get notifications for them. I also receive a notification whenever there's maybe a system that's trying to make an attempt to do something different on our network so we can activate the device and protect ourselves.
We have two administrators that can handle any tasks related to the product.
What about the implementation team?
We installed it ourselves. We just bought the license. We did not need a third-party integrator or consultant to assist us.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Compared to Symantec, which we were using before we switched to Bitdefender, Bitdefender was cheaper. The pricing is reasonable. Everything is included in the price and we do not have any additional costs.
What other advice do I have?
We're just a customer and an end-user.
I would recommend the product as it's easy to deploy and it's not as heavy as Symantec. We found that the product was consuming so many processes in our system. This is light, so it's easy to configure. It's easier to deal with and I'd recommend it based on that.
I'd rate the solution at a ten out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Product Leader at a tech services company with 51-200 employees
User-friendly cloud management that is useful and easy to deploy
Pros and Cons
- "The cloud management is easy and useful, especially in our case when we have multiple offices in different locations."
- "They were working on the encryption management for laptops, and if they complete it then it would be helpful."
What is most valuable?
The cloud management is really good. We don't do internal testing, we base our knowledge on the external tests and AV tests.
The cloud management is easy and useful, especially in our case when we have multiple offices in different locations.
What needs improvement?
We have not had any major problems with Bitdefender, it seems to be quite good.
There are some additional features that they can implement in the product. For example, a remote wipe option or a geo-tracking for the laptop. That may not be the area they are targeting, but it would be useful.
They were working on the encryption management for laptops, and if they complete it then it would be helpful.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using this solution for three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
This solution is stable and we haven't had any issues.
The users have not reported any issues so far.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
This solution is quite scalable. Whether you have a small one or a large one, it's easy to deploy.
We have just under two hundred clients and we have one hundred and eighty users. We have two admins and the rest are endpoint users of protected devices.
In total, we have one hundred and eighty protected devices.
How are customer service and technical support?
We have not had to contact customer service for technical support. We haven't had any issues.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Previously we did not use a different solution. Bitdefender GravityZone is the first one for this company.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was straightforward.
I like the fact that you download the agent from the website and it's already tied to accounts. We don't have to provide any additional details, so when you download the agent from your cloud portal, it already connects to your instance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There is a fully functional trial that we used and we didn't have any issues.
What other advice do I have?
This is a good solution and there isn't anything to be worried about.
The only thing that I would probably test is your internal applications. We don't rely on this, but rather, we rely on the cloud applications that are widely known. Sometimes there are issues. If you use standard, widely known applications, it shouldn't be a problem.
Some of the things that we are looking at but not sure how far along they are with releasing are geo-tracking, remote wipe, and encryption management.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.

Systems Engineer at a tech services company with 11-50 employees
Easy to use, implement and it only requires one server
Pros and Cons
- "The Ultra is a valuable feature."
- "While the solution is secure, it could have better integration."
What is our primary use case?
The solution provides endpoint protection and very good security, both at the end point and supplier levels. The good thing about the Romanian-based company is that it is not politically affiliated, in contrast to certain other companies and this may be a factor when it comes to the implementation of Bitdefender Gravity Zone, a solution with a global presence.
What is most valuable?
The Ultra is a valuable feature. So are the EDR components, which provide endpoint protection for the use of security operation centers, as they relate to whatever may be happening respecting the endpoints.
The solution is easy to use and implement. It only requires one server and this is in contrast with other products that require more, one for management and another for the database.
What needs improvement?
While the solution is secure, it could have better integration.
Also, the support should be faster.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Bitdefender Gravity Zone Ultra for four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable. We have received good feedback from our customers. They are happy with it. For the moment, they are using a less advance model of GravityZone, of which there are several types, including that of Elite, Ultra and Business. They are now requesting the highest level, so that they may also benefit from the features offered with EDR and the Improved Anti-Ransomeware.
How are customer service and technical support?
The speed of technical support should be addressed.
How was the initial setup?
The installation is straightforward, and it is support Hypervisors at the moment (VmWare, Hyper-V and Nutanix (HCI) ).
As a supplier, if the prerequisites are ready on the customer's end, it should take no more than a day.
As a client, it would depend on the number of PCs involved.
What about the implementation team?
in-house
What other advice do I have?
The solution has both cloud-based and on-premises options.
As our company is not very large, we go with the cloud-based option. But, we propose to our customers the on-premises one as per their request.
We have three customers who are using the solution at present.
A systems administrator and engineer handle the deployment and maintenance.
I would recommend this solution to others who are considering its implementation.
I rate Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra as a nine out of ten.

The most valuable features are installation and configuration, simple deployment, then the administration of clients.
Installation and configuration are done in less than one hour, if you read the installation guide.
How has it helped my organization?

What needs improvement?
- Antiphishing
- Antispam
- Module with network administration of computers
For how long have I used the solution?
Two years.

Not yet.
How are customer service and technical support?

How was the initial setup?
It was quite easy, but I already had good, prior experience.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price is fairly affordable, and the licensing quite easy.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Yes, Trend Micro and Malwarebytes.
What other advice do I have?
I recommend implementing Bitdefender GravityZone on-premise. All the best.

A stable solution with fantastic scalability
Pros and Cons
- "I like that you can manage all the time and you can uninstall and install everything via the web console."

What is most valuable?
I like that you can manage, uninstall, and install everything via the web console.
What needs improvement?
Having better descriptions or larger headings that will help you navigate through the to the ISP is needed. It needs to be a bit easier, a bit more intuitive. It would also be nice if we could move devices between companies.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using the solution for two and a half years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is very stable. We have about 23,000 end users.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The initial setup was straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
We implemented the solution ourselves.
