Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Really good in terms of content delivery and network bandwidth optimization
Using Adaptiva is really straightforward. Users need to have some end-user computing and networking knowledge to use the solution. The project or implementation team we worked with had good technical knowledge. I really liked the solution's performance. Adaptiva helped us with network bandwidth optimization and content delivery. Overall, I rate the solution eight and a half out of ten.

The user-friendly interface and effective patch management streamline server maintenance
There are times when we have a particular software installed in our system, but we do not receive patches for it from Endpoint Central. The support team mentions that the software may not be updated in their database yet, which requires us to raise a request for their database update. This lack of regular database updates has been an issue. Additionally, Endpoint Central does not support Linux, which makes it challenging to patch Linux machines using commands. Support for Linux, such as CentOS or Ubuntu, would be highly beneficial.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If I assess Intune's user experience, I would say it is perfect and simple."
"Everything has worked better since we started using Intune."
"The management control feature is the most valuable."
"Intune's security features for Apple iOS and Mac OS are helpful. We can check enrollment, manage public and private settings, and manage the organization's data using security key features."
"What I like the most about Microsoft Intune is its ability to manage mobile devices. Through integration with System Center, it can also manage desktops and laptops."
"The most valuable feature is that we can manage workstations or Android devices remotely without needing the device to be connected to our local network."
"I like that we can implement conditional access."
"I believe that the solution is actually in Gartner's top quadrant at the moment for mobile device management."
"Adaptiva is really good in terms of content delivery and network bandwidth optimization."
"Based on my experience, I would recommend ManageEngine Endpoint Central to others if it fits their budget and technical requirements, as it is one of the best tools available in comparison to its peers in the market."
"The stability is very good."
"The product works perfectly for patch management and software deployments."
"Identification of gaps and filling the gaps with updates are most valuable. We are able to identify known updates or missing updates and then update."
"The most important feature we found to be useful in the COVID situation is the secure connection, which gives the IT support staff the ability to seamlessly connect with the users remotely and in a secure way."
"The most valuable feature to me is the vulnerability management."
"ManageEngine Desktop Central has greatly improved our organization by utilizing Service Desk Plus to monitor and keep track of issues that our end users report to our Help Desk Department. We also have written in the ode of our company's software to notify Support if an end-user experience an issue and does not report it."
"Since deploying Desktop Central our endpoints are all updated. We use configuration management to deploy shortcuts to our users' desktops with ease. Also, we use configuration management to map logical hard drives to our users. Our users are very happy with how much ease IT can solve their problems."

Cons

"Currently, Microsoft Intune's focus is mainly on Windows, but they can make much more improvement in terms of other platforms."
"Microsoft Intune fails a lot when it comes to device compliance."
"Its integration with Mac and Linux devices can be better. They should provide more features similar to Windows. We should be able to manage policies within Linux and Mac machines. If we can have more granular controls for these two operating systems, it will be really helpful."
"Improvements are needed in Microsoft Intune's enterprise app management, including support for more applications in app patching, boot batching, and discovery. I also hope the cost of Remote Help will decrease because it's a much-needed Intune function. Our customers need that capability, or they will buy it from a third party at a premium."
"At this time, I do not have any areas for improvement. I have heard about some downtime, but I am not in the local IT team."
"We haven't really gone through all the features of Intune. We are just discovering them. Every day, we see a new feature that we want to apply, but what will be great for Intune is to be able to deploy apps in a simple fashion. We should be able to easily install various apps on the Windows platform, iOS, and Android. Currently, we have to write some scripts. It's not as straightforward as we would like it to be. It should be simplified so that we can do it just with three clicks—next, next, finish—without needing to write a script."
"I find the price for Microsoft Intune too high, which represents an area for improvement in Microsoft's pricing model."
"We need the capabilities of the Cloud Management Gateway (CMG) to be enhanced through Intune instead of Azure."
"It would be good if Adaptiva had everything on the cloud rather than having one server on-premises."
"There is a slight delay in customer support, which is something that can be improved."
"I would like to see them include the ability to find out the network usage but I believe that might be a feature of it already."
"The pricing could be a bit better."
"The technical support could improve response times, especially when immediate assistance is needed."
"Sometimes computers fail to receive patches, and we need to investigate why."
"The tool's security can be better."
"Desktop Central has very good information, however, you can't customize the dashboards."
"I would like to see them come out with a SaaS version of the product in the future."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is inherently reasonable, as Microsoft leverages market insights to maintain the total cost of ownership at around ninety to ninety-five percent of what would be incurred in an on-premise scenario."
"Its price is in the medium range. It is acceptable because you're paying for the features. I am not aware of any additional costs."
"For organizations that are a Microsoft shop, the pricing is compelling."
"Microsoft Intune's pricing is reasonable."
"The product is relatively pricey, but considering its benefits, I'd say it's fair. The benefits outweigh the expensive licensing fees, especially for large organizations, but medium-sized and smaller businesses may be unable to afford it."
"While I can't provide insights from a business perspective, it's worth noting that the pricing may differ significantly, and the discount we received might not be reflective of standard business rates."
"Intune is moderately expensive. You can get the license bundled with Office 365 E3 or E5 licenses. The E5s are a bit expensive, but you get some cheaper solutions with Intune."
"The pricing is competitive, but it is not cheap."
Information not available
"I have been using the free version and am in the stage where I have to decide if I will proceed with the paid license, or instead choose another product."
"Affordable for any customer."
"Choose wisely between the Professional and Enterprise editions, based on your needs."
"The pricing of the product is not bad compared to the other similar solutions in the market."
"The pricing is average."
"The initial purchase was around $6,000 or $7,000. We most probably are not on an annual subscription. We bought it, and then we pay for the maintenance. I'm not 100% sure how that's working out."
"The product is not costly. The product is properly priced, especially for SMBs."
"The licensing is very easy to understand and pricing is right for what you get."
