Offers unified interface, which also helps you scan Outlook email
My main concern is that it's a bit heavy for some devices. Like Kaspersky or McAfee, it uses more RAM or memory. Similar to that, it causes issues for users and their own resources, similar to that. If you deploy on old legacy devices with only 1GB of RAM, then it could be a problem. Recent versions shouldn't be a problem with at least 16GB of RAM. Bitdefender should have its own app security built in. After integrating SIEM solutions and log collecting, they could have app security built on top of that. For each application, especially when dealing with financial data, if there was an option for data breach control, that would be fantastic. Because nowadays, people are using the internet from home, and we don't know what network they're connecting to. For situations where the network security is questionable, having a security control built into the antivirus would be essential. It's a common requirement nowadays.

High availability, effective VPM, and responsive support
There is room for improvement with Trend Micro Deep Security, as there are instances where installations may need to be redone. There seem to be glitches when working with older Windows servers, such as those from 2003 or 2005, requiring us to uninstall and reinstall the product to resolve the issue.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We find the protection the solution provides valuable."
"Bitdefender is also customizable and granular, but once you install it, it keeps running."
"The domain integrator functionality is particularly noteworthy, allowing me to leverage my existing network infrastructure."
"The features I found most valuable in Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security include anti-malware, spyware detection, firewall, network detection, and user behavior analytics. The solution also gives you a heads-up about operating system misconfiguration."
"The most valuable feature is the IDS."
"When it comes to the web, according to our customers, this product stands out due to its superior performance compared to others."
"I find Bitdefender to be very light. When we were using the other versions, users would complain that they would make the computers slow. But since we have deployed Bitdefender, we haven't had that."
"The solution is very scalable."
"It has a perfect SaaS which integrates with AWS, offering flexibility to deploy quickly and easily in the cloud."
"I like the anti-malware features."
"The most valuable feature of the product is vulnerability detection."
"It helps us detect and protect against network penetrations at the specific point of intrusion."
"The initial setup was straightforward."
"The solution provides ease of use, especially from non-technical testing. It's one of the best things. The deployment process is one of the easiest things because we didn't train our on-site consultant. The constant training from Trend Micro's side is that they develop internal causes to understand the upgrade because once they upgrade the platform, they also upgrade the technical person's skills."
"Virtual patching is a wonderful feature where we do a recommendation scan and an internal assessment on the server, and it updates the IPS signatures to block any attack. I have seen instances where it has prevented attacks on the end-of-support servers such as 2018 R2, and many years ago, even 2007 servers that were end-of-support. It certainly helped there."
"Trend Micro Deep Security is a complete solution and all the threat management has been taken care of."

Cons

"The tool needs to improve patch and vulnerability management."
"The price has increased marginally recently and I would prefer if they didn't raise rates."
"The lack of detecting security threats and high memory usage need to be improved."
"The dashboard can be improved."
"There are compatibility concerns as Bitdefender does not support Windows 7."
"I think it would be helpful if I could get a live console directly on the machine. Additionally, if I could run scripts on the machines to respond to any incidents, that would be a great feature."
"Sometimes the response from Technical Support takes more time than usual because level three support is not in Brazil."
"Overall, Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security is quite good. It always has new features which customers can use for free, so I can't say that something is missing in the solution, though one area for improvement is that the cloud version of Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security still can't connect to a central SIEM. The on-premises version has that capability, but the cloud version doesn't."
"When implementing this solution, sometimes we have challenges with SQL migration."
"The situation with the currency in Turkey makes this solution a little bit on the expensive side, and if it were lowered then it would be more competitive."
"It should have XDR and EDR integration. It would be nice if they can tie it up with an XDR or EDR."
"Deep Security's reporting functionality could be improved."
"New patterns need improvement, as some new data access points are challenging to investigate and allow entry without detection."
"The tool should integrate SIM functionality. It should also improve customer support."
"Our company faced issues syncing the active directory accounts"
"The setup is fairly complex. The deployment took around two months."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its price has gone up since our last renewal. My renewal fee has gone from $517.99 in 2018 for 3 years to $739.99 when it renews this year in July. I love the product, but a price increase of over 40% is a bit exorbitant."
"Good in terms of pricing and flexibility."
"The licensing costs can vary."
"We pay for an annual license which is affordable."
"The solution is reasonable and is nominally priced in accordance with the features that offer to the market."
"The license is yearly."
"There are many licensing options available, we have been on monthly agreements and other volume contract agreements."
"It has very flexible licensing costs, and it's modular-based."
"There is a subscription cost to use this product."
"While the pricing was on the higher side, the manageability and comprehensive alerts provided by the product justified the cost."
"The pricing is fair."
"We need to make yearly payments for the solution's licensing. There are different pricing models, like subscription-based and perpetual."
"Purchasing on the AWS Marketplace is like shopping on Amazon Prime."
"The training needs improvement. It is expensive (classroom training), and it is often hard to find answers by yourself using the documentation."
"From a pricing perspective, I would say the product is economical...The payments are made on a yearly basis towards the licensing of the solution."
"Our company chose to procure this product via AWS Marketplace due to regulatory requirements. We mostly use it in the AWS GovCloud."
