We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The main advantage of Claroty, when compared to its competitors, is integrated secure remote access.""The product helps mitigate potential threats, especially if its users have signature rules. The product also provides alerts."

"PRTG Network Monitor's best features are its flexibility, ease of implementation, user-friendliness, and intuitive interfaces.""The technical support seems to be quick, clever, and has a comprehensive knowledge base online, which is fantastic.""The remote probes are very useful. They allow us to provide a reference across different areas in the network. In trying to localize issues, that's very useful.""It is a user-friendly solution.""The most valuable feature of PRTG Network Monitor is the different monitoring probes available.""I really love the activity library. It gives the flexibility to discover data and metrics about my interface and data server.""It improves the status of my infrastructure, from networking devices to real-time machines.""The initial setup is very simple."

Cons
"Claroty Platform could improve the pricing to get more acceptability in the market.""The product's integration capabilities are an area of concern where improvements are required."

More Claroty Platform Cons →

"The Desktop app is good but it can be really sluggish at times, especially when you're editing different elements.""The desktop app is the one area where it do with some improvement. From a user's perspective, I would like to be able to get more out of the desktop app as opposed to where we are now with it.""Once you start going above 5000 sensors, things do start to get a bit shaky. There are some best practice out there that you will need to adopt and be aware of.""We would like to monitor certain aspects of the user experience. We should be able to analyze the cause of end user experience, bad or good, so we can do some research and development on our own.""We're using more cloud services now. It would be useful to be able to get information back from these cloud services in detail, and display any issues within PRTG for the rest of our systems.""A room for improvement in PRTG Network Monitor is its sensors. Its application technology sensor, such as the IAS, .NET, etc., needs some improvement because it doesn't work as expected. For example, the IAS sensor doesn't give immediate information, and the information you get from it isn't of good value. The web GUI of PRTG Network Monitor also needs improvement because errors keep popping up if it's not been updated to the latest version. What I'd like to see in the next release of the tool is end-to-end topology mapping for the business model, and that should be required. There has to be a technical map. Technical mapping and topological creation are missing in PRTG Network Monitor, so I would like to see those in the future.""PRTG's documentation could be improved.""PRTG could use reporting tools and mobile alert tools. It should be easier to diagnose and respond to problems from a mobile device on the go."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →

The Claroty Platform is tailored for monitoring and securing industrial control systems. It offers deep visibility into OT networks, enabling effective anomaly detection and vulnerability assessments. Its user-friendly interface and robust reporting tools facilitate easy management and compliance, enhancing organizational efficiency and cybersecurity posture in industrial environments.

PRTG Network Monitor runs on a Windows machine within your network, collecting various statistics from the machines, software, and devices which you designate. PRTG comes with an easy-to-use web interface with point-and-click configuration. You can easily share data from it with non-technical colleagues and customers, including via live graphs and custom reports. This will let you plan for network expansion, see what applications are using most of your connection, and make sure that no one is hogging the entire network just to torrent videos.

To monitor a large IT environment, it's important to be able to scale PRTG up. Paessler PRTG Enterprise Monitor includes all the proven capabilities of PRTG Network Monitor, which are enhanced by exclusive ITOps Board for a service-oriented, central overview of multiple PRTG servers.
