Never misses anything and has an attractive price point and a simple interface
One thing they could improve is evolving from an EDR to an MDR, like Blackpoint. This transition would enable automatic remediation of anything that looks dangerous, including within Microsoft 365. For instance, when one of my clients' Microsoft 365 account was breached, Blackpoint identified suspicious activity and disabled the account. It was in Dallas, and we are in California. Blackpoint knew something was wrong there, and they went in and disabled the account. Developing more automated remediation features would elevate them to an MDR level, but I understand that it might affect pricing. They are trying to keep it at a good price point because once they go to MDR, it is probably going to double the price. For now, I find the current features satisfactory, as they continue to add improvements. They have added security awareness training and then log collectors. They are adding pillars as they move along, and I assume they are going to have an option for MDR.

Has a user-friendly setup process, but its query language needs improvement
The product has valuable features for the EDR section. We can easily isolate affected machines in the network. It helps us prevent the spreading of malware or ransomware further Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR's query language and stability need improvement. Additionally, its price could be better…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It catches things that no one else catches. We occasionally have things slip through antivirus and other things, but Huntress catches them. It is awesome as an additional layer of defense on top of other things."
"Huntress helped us to reduce the need for expensive security tools or expensive security analysts. That's very important, especially with us being a a smaller business. Not having to purchase larger software has been great."
"The EDR product is simple to install. It is low maintenance. All the alerts go to Huntress first, and their analyst team reviews them and sends actionable things our way."
"It is clear, simple, and easy to use. There are things that I can automate in terms of escalation, but if I want to go into the settings and play with it, I can. They provide detailed remediation steps, explaining why an issue is a problem and what steps to take."
"Huntress has improved our security dramatically."
"What stands out most is their human element: when faced with an unknown threat, real people, not just automated processes, are investigating it, and they're people we trust."
"Their SOC is super responsive and does a great job of catching incidences and being on top of any issues that arise."
"The endpoint protection is definitely the most impactful feature for clients. It just works. It is a set-it-and-forget-it type of solution."
"We don't have a full SOC, so it's helpful to have them sifting through our alerts and only bringing actionable items to us."
"The initial setup was very straight forward."
"It provides more visibility and more control over endpoints. It reduces the noise. It clears things and only shows things that are really important. It only shows those things that need to be looked at or need to be investigated further. Other similar solutions give you a lot of alerts and other things, but Secureworks gives you a defined or less noisy view so that you can work or focus on things that are important in terms of investigation, response, and remediation."
"The solution definitely made us way more aware of the possibilities out there."
"We can easily isolate affected machines in the network."
"There are some patent pending detectors within the platform that provides a lot of value."
"The most valuable features are IDS and IPS."
"The pricing is flexible."

Cons

"It would be ideal if they could create some incentives to help more partners get clients to onboard it."
"Installing Huntress on a Mac presents a challenge for end users due to the operating system's security features, which require administrator privileges for installation."
"The alert emails that they send out with the different portions of their product sometimes are not similarly formatted, which makes automatically processing those alerts a bit more difficult in our PSA."
"The reporting could be improved by providing a more simplified report that can be easily understood by clients. A way to present the data to the client so they understand its importance would be beneficial."
"I'd like Huntress to implement a component that can analyze network traffic for specific sites."
"Huntress' Process Insights feature could benefit from more robust search and filtering capabilities."
"I'd like it if Huntress could scan for software that's out of date or has open vulnerabilities. That would be useful for us. Scanning for vulnerable software would be helpful. Also, we've set it up to create a ticket in our ticketing system when there's an alert. It would be nice if closing that ticket would also close the Huntress alert. It doesn't do that right now, but they're working on adding that feature."
"The integration with our RMM could be better."
"Dell Secureworks could improve its integration with other third-party solutions."
"The integration would look better with other products, with other EDRs, with other firewalls, with other older versions of firewalls, and the versions of software and hardware."
"Dell Secureworks is for higher-end customers and it's not quite as straightforward to implement or to get up and running as some of the other solutions."
"This solution could be improved with a higher degree of automation such as automated emails, triggers and defining the severity of the cases."
"It would be nice if the solution were a little more affordable."
"We did a PoC of their next-gen antivirus product, but it wasn't ready yet. It was underdeveloped and caused a lot of issues. We'd like to move away from Carbon Black, but they said that it's probably still not to a point where we'd be happy with it. Carbon Black and RedCloak seem to work fine for us."
"The deployment could definitely be improved."
"The integration with the Carbon Black sensor could be better. ManagedXDR doesn't seem to know how to extract the forensic data from an endpoint that was quarantined by Carbon Black."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It works well for an MSP."
"The pricing is competitive, in line with Huntress's offerings, and aligns well with our business model."
"The pricing model for Huntress is similar to competitors and is charged per endpoint."
"Huntress Managed EDR offers a fair pricing model."
"I rate the product's price a five or six on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive since it is a fairly priced product."
"The Huntress pricing is an excellent value for what the product provides."
"It is fair. They provide good value for the product that they deliver. I have had one price increase in the entire time I have used them. They added a bunch of features and then said that they have to increase our price a little bit. That is a fair way to handle it."
"I believe Huntress Managed EDR is fairly priced. The value I get from it in terms of peace of mind justifies the expense. You can justify it as a business expense."
"The Red Cloak agent is free."
"Initially, the cost was going to be something around $160 or $170. And eventually, I think they brought it down to $110 and they also threw in some endpoint protection platforms."
"It is expensive but there is no better product than this."
"The price is kind of on par. The licensing was comparable to other solutions. It's not particularly high or low."
"Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR is very expensive and could be more cost-effective."
"The pricing of Dell Secureworks is very reasonable."
"The pricing for this solution is reasonable. One agent costs approximately 270 dirhams/70 USD for one year. There is a reduction in cost per licence as the number of licences used increases."
