Straightforward to set up and good support but needs to be on the cloud
I've used the solution for patch management and some fixing after other scanning and testing. We try to do the fixing from a single console under a single patch to improve efficiency It can provide good snapshots.  With other products, I have to write my own scripts. With this solution, I do not…

It protects applications against zero-day threats
Vicarius vRx helps consolidate multiple tools for patching and remediation. It's critical that Vicarius combines vulnerability discovery, prioritization, and remediation in a single platform. We selected it for that reason. It protects us well. We use other tools, but we always go back to Vicarius to ensure everything's in line. It reduces the time needed to detect and remediate threats by about an hour. I would estimate it saves us about 20 hours each month that we can allocate to something else.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Technical support is helpful and responsive."
"What has been most valuable is the ability to manage, restore and install upgrades and applications. We scan PCs and server and receive results."
"The system prioritizes vulnerabilities, identifying high, medium, and low risks, allowing us to focus on high-risk applications. It allows us to focus on high-risk applications and do the updates."
"I like that vRx is cloud-based. It protects the health of applications against zero-day threats."
"The most valuable features of vRx would be virtualized patching and severity prioritization."
"Vicarius vRx has reduced meantime to remediate by 90 percent."
"The strongest advantage of Vicarius vRx is its intuitive interface, which requires minimal explanation or support, even for first-time users."
"Vicarius vRx's primary strength is its user-friendly interface."
"The most efficient feature of Vicarius vRx is the ability to group assets, such as by time zone, allowing for targeted patching and streamlined management."
"The prioritization of the vulnerabilities and patches that we must apply immediately is valuable. The automation of the tasks allows us to spend less time in that area."

Cons

"For the Windows upgrade, the errors we experience are not clear. We see a time out error but do not know the reason. We would like to know the root cause."
"It should be more scalable."
"Based on the request from our clients, it would be great to have an MDM solution. If they can manage vulnerabilities on mobile devices too, that would be great. Having scripting capabilities on mobile devices would be very useful. That was the request we had from lots of clients."
"It would be good if there were more login options. At the moment, it sends you an email to verify your email address, and then you can log in. It would be beneficial to have other options for signing in, like MFA or maybe security keys, especially since it is a security product."
"I would like to see more network architecture elements with patches."
"Vicarius vRx's application management capabilities could be improved by allowing users to manage and uninstall applications directly within the GUI, eliminating the need for scripting and streamlining the process."
"The user interface for deploying patches can be improved, as it appears complicated when launching patches."
"They do have a search function for device names. They already have a list of all our devices, however, if I'm looking for something, sometimes the name does not come up at the top of the list."
"The patchless protection feature is currently difficult to understand and could be made more user-friendly."
"Areas that need improvement include the CPU usage and the delay between sending updates and receiving feedback on their status."
