Reliable rollback features for smooth IT operations and an easy setup
We are using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to take backups of shop floor PCs. I use it for clients locally, particularly for critical machines. It is also used globally for server-side backups and includes scheduling features like taking ten backups every Sunday when the factory is closed. This…

The appliance is ready to integrate with the cloud in cases where the customers have a hybrid or cloud environment.
The go-between is a Veritas partner, so the customer support was not that good. The solution is fine except when there is a purchasing crisis where you have to remake the ecosystem. It causes a lot of issues. The support was a problem, but we're okay with it as long as we have someone to communicate with.

"I think the most important feature is the ability of SaaS Backup to cover all modules proposed by Office 365, because competing solutions don't cover the total scope."
"What I like most about Veritas SaaS Backup is that it is easy to work on."

Cons

"Veeam Backup for Office 365 can improve by reducing the time it takes for backups. I have mentioned this to Veeam and hopefully, in the next version, it will be a faster backup."
"The product cannot back up Active Directory objects while its competitors can. Self-service power enables us to deal with service providers. We provide services for our clients, so having a multi-tenant service portal would be good."
"Technical support could be improved."
"While there really is nothing wrong with the product some small improvements in the interface could make it even easier to use."
"We would like to have a single management console for all of our backups."
"Microsoft currently saves only two months of conversation history, and it would be better if Veeam could focus on backing up more than two months of conversation data."
"While Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is a highly convenient product, there is room for improvement in its integration with Microsoft 365."
"This is a cloud solution, and the speed can be slow sometimes."
"The usability of the solution isn't the best."
"Currently, it isn't possible to use anything other than Veritas cloud to back up to. I think today it's important to cover the three major cloud provider: GCP, Azure and AWS."
"Technical support can be improved."
"The solution does lack a lot of features, and we're considering switching."
"An area for improvement is the product's performance, especially how long it takes to do a job."
"The backup reports and the dashboard need improvement."
"The tool can be improved in terms of maintainability and flexibility, especially as companies grow larger. In these aspects, I feel Veeam is better for cloud and operational purposes."
"Licensing has been a struggle. It went from bronze, silver to gold. Licensing needs more sophistication. It has features that are sold as separate add-ons."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I think it's a fair price. It's around $36 per user, so I think it's a fair price for our customers."
