Director de servicios at KC ERP GROUP
A great dashboard experience that is very familiar to Office users
Pros and Cons
- "The solution's integrations and interface are very good."
- "The solution could include the retail tool in the native version."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The Power Apps are very good for developers.
The solution's integrations and interface are very good. Many options are included such as different IPs, APIS, and Azure SQL Database. You can interface with handheld machines and other products. This makes things easy on developers and saves time.
The dashboard very user friendly and the best we have seen in ERPs. You can see KPS, sales, and customers in a virtual front desk. With one click you see what you need because Power AI sends everything to the dashboard.
Information changed in Excel or another integrated tool automatically pushes to the solution.
What needs improvement?
The solution could include the retail tool in the native version. Currently, it is sold as a separate product.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for two years.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

Learn what your peers think about Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Get advice and tips from experienced pros sharing their opinions. Updated: January 2025.
831,158 professionals have used our research since 2012.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is the most stable business ERP available. Changes in development, processes, and integrated apps does not affect the stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support is good and there are three levels available. For level one, customers work with support directly to resolve issues. For level two, we step in to assist customers. For level three, we determine an error or issue is difficult and call Microsoft directly for assistance.
How was the initial setup?
The setup and implementation are good. Implementations take a bit of time because clients define the process and they sometimes struggle with that. Mexico also has some different laws and tropical-sized invoices so the process takes time.
It takes about four months to fully deploy which is a short time in comparison to other ERPs that could take eight months to a year.
I rate setup a nine out of ten.
What about the implementation team?
We implement the solution for clients.
At the start, we have three to five consultants on the team. One or two consultants join the team to cross-implement to call centers.
What was our ROI?
It will take at least six months from the up-front investment to start to realize ROI. It really depends on the customer's environment and how much they automate through the solution with regard to inventory, products, and sales.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The per user price of $100 a month is better than competitors.
Much of an ERPs cost is in the implementation. The solution takes less time to implement than competitors so that saves on costs.
For example, the solution takes about five months to implement but a competitor tool might take eight months to a year. That doubles your cost.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
The solution is a good, smaller sized ERP but its reach is big. It is not expensive like Oracle Business Suite. The price is good for the client and the per-month price is good for users. The solution includes tools for manufacturing, retail, finance, and warehouse.
The solution's biggest competition is Oracle Business Suite which is more expensive and uses products unfamiliar to the typical Office user.
What other advice do I have?
The solution is easy to use. The user experience is similar to other Microsoft products like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power AI. It is much easier to use than Oracle which has different products and uses colors.
I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Microsoft Azure
Disclosure: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer: Partner
Business Development Manager - Microsoft Dynamics 365 at a retailer with 10,001+ employees
Has a great user interface and anyone with any past ERP experience can use and understand the solution
Pros and Cons
- "Its most valuable feature is the user interface."
- "They need to improve their processes."
What is our primary use case?
It is used for daily business operations that include finance, payables, receivables, and general accounts. It is also used for managing daily supply chain activities, like sales processes, purchasing processes, and assembly orders.
All of the consultants use this product and the CRM. We also implement it for our customers, so everyone knows how to use it. In my company, there are around fifty employees and all of them use it.
What is most valuable?
Its most valuable feature is the user interface. It's quite easy to use. Anyone with any past ERP experience can use and understand it. They can also customize it on their own. They can change the place of the field and can do it on their side since it is on the cloud. This is the best thing.
It also has a mobile application. If you are not on your laptop or computer, you can use it even from your mobile.
In addition, there is a community portal where people from all around the world suggest what they want in the system, and the Microsoft team replies to them. There are votes on comments, and then they make the changes in their next release. There is a new major release every six months.
What needs improvement?
They need to improve their processes. They need to be more detailed. For example, in their sales cycle, the warehouse management is separate. The process is quite lengthy and it can be shortened by doing some customization.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is one of the most stable products.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
From a scalability point of view, I would rate it ten. We can do customization and create many of our own add-ons for the product. We can also integrate with third-party systems.
How are customer service and support?
The technical support team is good. Even if there is a difference in time zones, they actually do their best to serve us for whatever we need. They are good enough.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is quite easy. It doesn't take much time for partners. The data uploading and the rest of the configuration are also very easy.
What about the implementation team?
We configured it ourselves.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
There are two types of licenses. One is the essential license in which everything is covered, and the next is the premium. If your company is a manufacturing or service management company, then you can go for the premium license because those two modules are the premium ones. You can manage your manufacturing activities and your service activities.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate the solutions a ten out of ten. I recommend everyone to use it since its user interface is quite easy to use.

ERP Specialist at AMC Entertainment
With a robust reporting functionality in place, the tool offers stability and scalability
Pros and Cons
- "The solution makes everything organized for my organization or enterprise. It makes workflows more than clear."
- "There is a book for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central explaining how to use it. But it is not easy to use, and it is not easy to learn."
What is our primary use case?
I have worked in around five industries, including health care, contracting, commissioning, balancing, testing, and more. We use many modules, like AR, AP, accounts payable, accounts receivable, HR module, procurement, service management, payroll, etc.
How has it helped my organization?
We have a lot of customization in my organization, and we were looking for something enhanced or fitting for my business on this platform. We are currently facing the problem of making the solution or ERP system fit for my business. So, we are trying to resolve it. The solution makes everything organized for my organization or enterprise. It makes workflows more than clear. It makes the approvals or the transactions between the departments more than easier. It may make the documentation for the document to be more than easier to access while also ensuring cooperation between the department, especially when we are making reports. So, the ERP makes the reports clearer and more organized.
What is most valuable?
Reporting and cooperation between departments are valuable features of the solution. Cooperation means that all employees can see and make a transaction between themselves. It makes delivering information and organizing the work easier to make it a more flowable workflow. So, it provides a structure to approve and structure to pass the transactions in a good and correct way or path.
What needs improvement?
I think that the solution should be made to have more than just training or documentation on how to use the system. It should be made easier for a user to learn about the platform or ERP.
I hope to take training on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. I am searching to learn about ERP. Actually, I am searching for this information on the internet, and it is very complicated to find any information. There is a book for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central explaining how to use it. But it is not easy to use, and it is not easy to learn.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for four to five years. I am a reseller of Microsoft products.

It's a stable product. I have never had any downtime, crashing, or lagging issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's a very scalable product, and it's very high on scalability. The solution is deployed in just one location. So, fifteen users are using the solution in my company.
How are customer service and support?
I have not contacted customer support since it is a paid service. However, I am not sure whether customer support offers free or paid support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I used different solutions in the last year for different businesses. So, I used Odoo and NetSuite.
How was the initial setup?
For deployment purposes, we have SaaS software as a service.
What other advice do I have?
My view on the product is that more than marketing, they should make training available to help users use the solution. If Microsoft is not doing marketing, then they are not giving training, and they are not preparing enough documentation. I hope to know and learn more about the ERP platform. I also hope to get more training to learn more about the solution. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Managing Director & Co-founder at ABC COUNSEL
A hybrid scalable solution with a good user interface
What is our primary use case?
We have implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in various retail, supermarkets, institutions, agencies, and manufacturing industries. Our implementations were segregated from production manufacturing. We implemented this system in educational institutions such as schools and universities for their educational systems.
How has it helped my organization?
The solution has provided multiple benefits: cost reduction, increased productivity, streamlined data accuracy, enhanced efficiency, improved KPI tracking, successful implementation, optimized processes, and increased customer traction.
What is most valuable?
As a customer, one should focus on specific pillars such as CRM, opportunity management, and interaction handling. Depending on the business, emphasis might shift to post-production or accounting modules, especially when utilizing functions related to manufacturing or production. Each feature holds value tailored to meet different customer needs.
What needs improvement?
Sometimes, we may require customizations to address specific cases, such as the absence of budget control in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Not having a point-of-sale application or a retail interface within Business Central can be a significant limitation, especially for companies dealing with retail operations. In such instances, it becomes necessary to seek alternative solutions or integrations.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as a partner since 2018.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable. You can increase users, capacity, and tables. You can go to the cloud whenever you want.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is easy. We have more than three teams, including an analysis and design team, a functional team, a technical team, a database administrator, and developers to deploy the solution. It takes around three months to two years to complete the deployment. It depends on the scope and financial cash flow of the customer. He may need to go through long-term implementation. Some customers need to finalize it in two months, but we usually do it in three months.
First, we begin with project initiation, preparing for customer and stakeholder analysis, requirement gathering, and other preliminary steps before conducting detailed research. We adhere to the primary objectives, ensuring maintenance at the customer's end. Next, we move into the analysis phase, conducting an in-depth analysis of each process across all departments within the project scope. Upon obtaining approval for the applicable requirement document, we proceed to the design phase, developing a useful design document outline. Following the implementation of Business Central, these procedures exist primarily in virtual documentation and conceptual planning. Once approved, we initiate configuration and data gathering, including uploads and related tasks, proceeding to a demo showcasing the approved functionalities outlined in the design document. Subsequently, we focus on training and eventually transition to the go-live phase. These steps constitute our standard procedure for each project phase. During configuration, attention is paid to master data, group security, and all necessary elements within the configuration framework.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution is very expensive.
What other advice do I have?
If you opt for the top system available, without an efficient team to implement it, the customer's satisfaction will not be guaranteed. Therefore, our primary focus remains on implementation quality, understanding the business needs, and delivering added value to customers. We strive to embed these elements within our solution and implementation process to prevent shortcomings.
It is scalable, cost-efficient, and has a good user interface. However, it has some limitations, such as lacking a point-of-sale or retail interface.
My advice is not to proceed directly to the Business Central. One should go through the ERP selection process before selecting an ERP. We assess the customer, scan the opportunities, identify pain points, evaluate the current processes, and perform a gap analysis. Based on this analysis, we then initiate the proper ERP implementation. Usually, we ensure it's tailored to their needs as Business Central.
Overall, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Hybrid Cloud

Solution Architect at APIS
An easy-to-set-up and easy-to-use solution that can be used for office productivity
Pros and Cons
- "The solution's integration between Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online is really helpful."
- "The solution's event management can be improved."
What is our primary use case?
We use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for office productivity.
What is most valuable?
From an end-user's perspective, it's really nice to have all the technologies consistent. The solution's integration between Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange Online is really helpful.
What needs improvement?
The solution's event management can be improved. If there are more than 3,000 people, the event quality decreases rapidly. That is something which can definitely be improved.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I rate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central an eight out of ten for stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution’s scalability is not a problem. Around 1,500 users are using the solution in our organization, and we have plans to increase the usage.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We previously used Cisco Webex.
How was the initial setup?
The solution’s initial setup is easy.
What about the implementation team?
We use TerraForm code to deploy most of the things and normal site security configurations.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
You have to pay a yearly licensing fee for the solution.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend the solution to other users because it is easy to set up, easy to use, and it has a very intuitive user experience.
Overall, I rate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central a nine out of ten.

Financial Manager at a hospitality company with 51-200 employees
Stable, reliable, and provides a solid foundation for our business operations
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable features of Business Central for me are its seamless integration with Power BI and the ability to create customized reports."
- "There is room for improvement in the ability to reverse or correct transactions more easily."
What is our primary use case?
I use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for finance. Our accountants enter transactions, I review them and handle month-end closing. I also help with updates and train my team on using the system.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features of Business Central for me are its seamless integration with Power BI and the ability to create customized reports. These features save us time and effort in analyzing our results.
What needs improvement?
There is room for improvement in the ability to reverse or correct transactions more easily. Currently, if we make mistakes or need to undo something, it can be challenging and time-consuming. Simplifying the process for reversing transactions would be helpful.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central for two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability of the solution as an eight out of ten. I find Business Central to be a stable system. However, we experienced issues with updates in our previous system where the cost of goods sold wasn't recognized after updates. Our consultants addressed the problem, and it has been stable since.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability of the solution as an eight out of ten. Business Central is highly scalable and suitable for both small and medium-sized enterprises.
How was the initial setup?
I would rate the initial setup of Business Central as a seven out of ten for ease. Transitioning from our previous software was a bit challenging for our accounting team, especially with reversing transactions, but they became more comfortable over time.
It took about one and a half months to deploy Business Central, including a month for preparation and migration. We worked with consultants to integrate Navision and customize layouts. Maintenance is managed centrally with about three to four hours of consultant involvement per month for any issues.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I would rate the pricing of Business Central as a six or seven out of ten in terms of costliness. We have yearly licensing costs, and the biggest additional expense is for external consultants.
What other advice do I have?
Business Central has simplified our financial reporting by integrating with our business intelligence tools like Borg and Power BI. With everything connected, we can automatically upload data, view balance sheets, and P&L statements, and drill down into details to understand our results better. It is all seamless and makes it easy to analyze and track our financial performance.
The customer relationship function in Business Central has had the biggest impact on our efficiency. We monitor accounts receivable, analyze them, and improve cash flow by identifying clients who haven't paid. Sales managers then follow up with them, helping us plan our cash flow better.
The inventory management feature in Business Central helps us optimize stock levels by analyzing goods by lot and their expiration dates. We prioritize selling items with upcoming expiration dates to avoid losses. This helps us manage our stock effectively and minimize expenses.
Business Central supports our decision-making process with its data analytics and reporting tools by allowing us to analyze stock levels, allocate goods to key clients, and determine appropriate discounts.
My main recommendation for new users is to involve a legal consultant and ensure proper planning from the start when implementing Business Central. This can help avoid potential issues and save time in the long run.
Overall, I would rate Business Central as a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

The stability could always be improved.
For how long have I used the solution?
I work with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a stable solution.
I would rate the stability of the solution an eight out of ten.
There is always room for improvement.
There are some tools that I am not able to use very efficiently.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's not particularly scalable. In my opinion, when attempting to expand usage to a larger number of individuals, it becomes more complicated.
We have approximately eight users.
How are customer service and support?
I have never contacted technical support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Previously, we used Gmail.
We made the switch because it was a more convenient option. Additionally, many other companies like ours, including SMEs, also use Microsoft. We became aware of this and decided to adopt it as well.
How was the initial setup?
In my opinion, the initial setup is straightforward.
The deployment process was incredibly fast, taking only two minutes to complete.
What about the implementation team?
I was able to complete the deployment myself.
The process is very straightforward and widely used. If I encounter any issues or have questions, I can easily find solutions by searching on Google.
What was our ROI?
I have computed the return on investment, but since Microsoft is essential software that we are required to use, I didn't factor in a significant return on investment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Regarding professional accounts, we have the option to purchase six accounts at a relatively low cost.
We are required to pay licensing fees, and when it came time to renew our license, we opted for a five-year subscription.
In my opinion, the fees are reasonable.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central an eight out of ten.
