It's our ERP system, so we house our financials in it. We use it for supply chain management and operational reporting. We manage our payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable through it. Basic ERP functions in our organization are all managed through it.

It provides us with a centralized location to have an enterprise-wide GL and other module solutions. It allows us to normalize all of our systems into a single database. We did achieve some improvements, though I don't have those numbers.

In the past, I used Oracle E-Business Suite for reporting purposes and application development for business purposes, such as fulfilling business requirements like order processing, procurement process, cash management, and general ledger. As part of the BI team, I used it as a data source to file, summarize, aggregate, and pull historical data into the data warehouse system, then created data reports on top of that.

For business purposes, the main feature is the drill-down functionality. We can drill down from the sales order line to the invoice and payment at the detailed level. Another feature is the ability to dynamically add or hide columns based on business needs. We also have reporting features that allow submission of concurrent programs for reports, which is useful. Oracle E-Business Suite provides standard APIs for integrating with custom applications, which is another valuable feature.

It's for governments, as an integrated financial management suite. We deploy, customize and configure it to fit their needs.

Oracle is a decent, robust solution that has been tested and used for many years. It can do everything, but the problem is that in the past few years, even on the database side, there are more cost-effective options that perform equally well. That's the biggest challenge we face as system integrators working with Oracle systems.

Probably one of the most valuable features that we've seen has been around the E-Business Suite change, as far as the UI is concerned. As far as the E-Business Suite 12 2.5, the look and feel has drastically changed from 11i to 12.1, to 12.2. The UI from an end user's perspective, being able to configure the UI, such that they have buttons; using it on an iPad or an iPhone, mobile application integration, all these different technologies coming together. It is kind of one of those things where the E-Business Suite's starting to get that new look and feel that has been lagging for a couple of years.

The benefits are around ease of use, trying to make those end users lives easier, to be able to make transactions, point-and-click transactions, having the ability for drop-down lists to be much easier. As far as the UI is concerned, over the years, you'd have to go through multiple tabs to put a transaction in. Now, you can go to one screen and have the options right in front of you. Pick the options you want, press save, and away you go. Oracle's trying to improve the ease of use for the end users.

In my EBS experience, the finance tools stand out for their efficiency. Transitioning to Oracle E-Business Suite has been a game-changer. As someone with a background in user experience development, I quickly adapted to its user-friendly interface within days. The graphical dashboards and reports, previously requiring extensive technical effort in EBS, are now effortlessly presented in Oracle E-Business Suite. Its drag-and-drop features make data distribution a breeze. Overall, Oracle E-Business Suite's intuitive design and powerful insights make it a standout for cloud-based business operations.

We are primarily using this solution for financial reporting, financial management reporting, and consolidation.

The solution offers strong integration capabilities. It's balanced and sends good reports. It's easy to use.

The solution is stable.

It's a scalable product.

Technical support has been great.

At this time, it matched our requirements, and I believe it helps our operation to be more efficient.

The challenge is figuring out how to adapt operations to fit the software because the software cannot do everything. Sometimes you have to change the way you're doing things and adjust. That's difficult because it involves people in the organization. At first, they think the server can do everything, but it's the opposite. You have to work with the server to achieve your goals. That's the challenge.

The solution itself is okay. Before we used the cloud, we faced issues with data input and retrieval. But with the cloud, the infrastructure and software are stable. We don't have any issues with the software itself. That's one advantage.

Another advantage is that the people who need to support the back end of the application are no longer required. The ability to access the platform anywhere is also a benefit, especially with remote work.

Our use case is primarily finance and procurement. We have a procurement team, a finance department, and some managers responsible for approving a procurement request. We also have users who build and customize reports for board members, senior management, or auditors.

We plan to adapt Oracle EBS to integrate with our CRM, HR, and other applications. It provides financial insights and covers payroll, so it needs to be combined with the project portfolio management solution or the CRM. We have many changes ready for when we go live with the CRM.

Oracle EBS is flexible enough for any use case, allowing us to configure the changes we want how we want.
