Doesn't have daily updates, which is important for healthcare IT
I face challenges with the exclusion policy - it still scans folders we told it not to, causing issues. When we contact support, they tell us to update the latest agent, but we can't do that immediately due to medical device protocols and validation testing. I wish support would try to understand our issues better instead of giving this standard response. The machine learning feature they use often tells us to upgrade the agent or add things to the exclusion list, which isn't unacceptable. It's a very good and new technology as a tool and antivirus. But sometimes, it doesn't work properly with our medical devices and products, quarantining files it shouldn't even after we add them to exclusions. This is tricky for us.

Continuously improving and comes with automated response and SIEM/SOC
This is the third company I've worked with, and I've brought them in as a provider. For me, it's as good as it gets. Nobody likes to talk about tens, but they have a better record of detection than CrowdStrike, and they didn't shut down the world like CrowdStrike. If you really dig down into it, who are the founders of the companies? On the one hand, you have a guy who used to be a consultant, I believe, and we know they're full of it. On the other hand, you got a guy who hacked into an Israeli bank, I think, when he was about 15 years old. They eventually hired him, and now this is his third startup. So, when you look at it that way, there's no comparison.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Has good RAM capacity for the power I need"
"Its setup is simple if you have a Windows device; it is executable."
"In most cases, the solution's ability to detect in the MITRE framework, and its ability to be able to detect attacks in any one of seven or eight different areas of the life cycle of an attack is very useful."
"CylancePROTECT is a fairly decent antivirus."
"The most functional item that we use is the process to turn off the false flags that it causes."
"What I like best about CylancePROTECT is its accuracy, as it doesn't give many false positives."
"The solution’s AI is its most valuable feature."
"On the management side, we liked the way it displays things."
"I like the Cynet Correlator™ feature."
"Cynet is light and transparent when downloaded. The product's data aggregation is also valuable since you can see everything you need on a page."
"The most valuable aspect of this solution is that it is a complete solution, which makes cyber security very free and almost perfect. There is no such thing as perfect cyber security, but as far as it can go, sign it comes close to being perfect and holistic. Cynet is always comprehensive from the perspective of functionality, as well as from the standpoint that it encompasses not only technology but also processes and people. The triad of people, processes, and technology is crucial and should always be in place. To my knowledge, no other product or platform combines all three components into one, but Cynet does."
"I have found the continued support and pretty much all the features to be valuable. They all stand out as being positive. It continues to detect unusual activity when it's supposed to, and so far we haven't had any issues."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the network part of it because most of the endpoint products in XDS products we find Cynet has networking user behavior analysis and network analysis, for the whole team."
"I like that you can implement it in the managed service portfolio."
"It can be deployed in autonomous mode, and then it automatically blocks malware threats."
"The visibility it gives is excellent."

Cons

"The solution needs better dashboards that are easier to use."
"Making the dashboards a bit modern to make them easier to search would also be helpful."
"It needs real analysis of quarantined files. The EDR product isn't showing much right now."
"Work on the math model. We are catching a lot of false positives, which gets to be a pain at the start of a deployment."
"The process of whitelisting a script that you want to be able to run can be a little bit difficult, or awkward."
"rom my experience interacting with the primary or the central administrative console, it's quite complex. You would need a fair bit of technical experience to set it up, implement and maintain it. That would be one area for improvement."
"We would like to see secure integration and multi-factor authentication to be able to access the administration dashboard."
"The stability could be improved."
"One thing to note is that I highly recommend adding a deep learning-based prevention environment as an additional layer to Cynet. However, I always advise my customers to start with Cynet or XDR, for example, and then focus on the people, technology, and processes involved. This is the best approach to ensure that you are not breached with ransomware. While Cynet can prevent most attacks, there have been cases where ransomware has been quicker than Cynet's detection capabilities. In these situations, an additional tool is necessary to ensure complete protection, and that is what I sell as well."
"SIEM - Although with their Centralised Log Management Cynet has created the basis for SIEM functionality, this is to be expanded in the near future."
"The command line interface could be improved."
"Linux servers are not supported."
"I cannot provide more details about Cynet's automation features. While Cynet claims to be automated, the specifics of this automation are unclear. They claim to have a high capability to detect and block attacks, but I am cautious about companies that claim to solve every problem without limitations. It does help in identifying malware on the network but doesn't specifically identify vulnerabilities."
"It is an endpoint agent, but they don't have a probe for checking the network traffic. They could improve from this point of view."
"The inability to add contact information inside the Cynet is also an issue because it makes things more complicated. I would like to have a simple feature to enter a contact name and number for the person taking care of that unit or that server."
"An administration feature will be useful for Cynet."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Review closely how many endpoints you actually need before buying into a pricing level. Deal and deal with the VAR of your choice."
"CylancePROTECT is worth the money, but I'm not sure of its exact price. I can't remember off the top of my head."
"My company is on a yearly CylancePROTECT subscription. Price-wise, the solution is slightly expensive, so I'd rate it as eight out of ten."
"The licensing part of the product is too expensive compared to other solutions in the market."
"The tool is not that expensive."
"The license price for this solution could be better. It's on the expensive side."
"We would just add more if there are new users, but right now you just need one license for per user."
"It's not so heavily priced; rather, it's average and decent."
"It costs us 20,000 to 28,000 per year."
"It gives you a high level of protection at a very good price."
"Pricing wise, Cynet seems to be very competitive. The cost is probably lower than that offered by many of its competitors for all the functions and features it offers."
"Its licensing is on a monthly basis."
"My company's customers have to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs of the solution. Cynet is not expensive."
"We purchase the product’s yearly license."
"The price should not be less than $100 which is quite reasonable for this solution because you are getting multiple components."
"It is extremely affordable. I'll give it a five out of five in terms of price. It was half the cost of the next closest competitor, and the competitor didn't provide SOC services."
