I rate the solution’s scalability a ten out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

The customer service’s response time and quality could be better.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have experience with SAP. SAP is powerful, but it is complex and expensive for most of the requirements. Odoo is less powerful than SAP but is much more user-friendly.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is simple. We started with Software as a Service hosted by Odoo, which runs very easily. When you make any adjustments, they charge for every line of code. This is a disadvantage, but there is no cost once you leave software services hosted on your server.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I rate the product’s pricing a ten out of ten, where one is expensive and ten is cheap.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Easy to implement, cost-effective, and efficient
Pros and Cons
  • "Being open source, it is more affordable compared to alternatives like Oracle or SAP, and I appreciate how easy it is to customize with the available sources."
  • "Odoo has room for improvement in industry-specific features."

What is most valuable?

I like Odoo because it is an effective and cost-effective solution. It is easy to implement, and in Egypt, where I work, it is great because it relies on our current resources. Being open source, it is more affordable compared to alternatives like Oracle or SAP, and I appreciate how easy it is to customize with the available sources.

What needs improvement?

Odoo has room for improvement in industry-specific features. Currently, customization often relies on hiring a system integrator or buying additional add-ons. It would be beneficial if Odoo could develop more built-in features tailored to specific industries, reducing the need for extensive customization. This would enrich the overall offering and make it more versatile for businesses.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Odoo for a few years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate Odoo's scalability at an eight out of ten. It is highly scalable and a good solution for small to medium-sized enterprises. In my company, approximately 11 users are using Odoo daily.

How was the initial setup?

I would rate the easiness of the initial setup as a six out of ten. Deployment took a few days. Maintenance only requires one person who follows up with us. We use a WhatsApp group to open tickets, and they take care of fixing whatever is needed.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a quick return on investment with Odoo. Typically, results are noticeable within a year of internal investment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Odoo's pricing is average.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate Odoo an eight out of ten. It is the best solution for our current needs.

Good manufacturing features and CRM
Pros and Cons
  • "We find manufacturing and stock quite useful, as well as the CRM to be the most valuable features."
  • "The performance can be slightly improved for the customization interface."

What is our primary use case?

We are using it for stock, manufacturing, sales, and CRM.

What is most valuable?

We find manufacturing and stock quite useful, as well as the CRM to be the most valuable features.

What needs improvement?

So some of the things we are struggling with are privacy and dividing rules, data access between people, the hierarchy of people, and things like that.

Moreover, the performance can be slightly improved for the customization interface.

For how long have I used the solution?

We just migrated one year back. We started using it in the last six months. Odoo is very big, and we are using only a small subset of that.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's stable for our usage because our usage is not too high.

I would rate it nine out of ten. Only once have we seen some issues in the last six months.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Our usage is pretty simple, so we don't need that kind of scalability. However, I know that big companies like Toyota use it, so I think it should be scalable.

There are around 15 right now because we are piloting it. I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

There is some third party helping us with some support.

How was the initial setup?

It was not hard. The deployment process took about three months. We had discussions about what to use and how to use it, and there was some alignment that needed to be done. Finally, we had to get our data into it and begin using it, which took that much time.

What other advice do I have?

We are happy with the solution. I would rate it an eight out of ten. There are still some things like data room privacy, access, and hierarchy that are taking time.

An easy to use solution for small companies, but it cannot be scaled easily for large companies
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is easy to use."
  • "The authorization management needs to be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We deploy it for CRM projects. We use it for some project management and share purchasing.

What is most valuable?

The solution is easy to use.

What needs improvement?

Odoo cannot be scaled beyond the scope. If you want to go deeply, you have to be confident enough to do some development on it, and it will take much more time to deliver the project.

The authorization management needs to be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for about 10 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability as an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's scalable within the scope of the solution. There are about 40 users of this solution in my organization.

It took between one to three months to deploy the solution.

We use it as a community solution, and develop the rest on our side.

It's a stable, user-friendly solution for managing our customers' appliances
Pros and Cons
  • "Odoo is user-friendly. It's the first solution we tried, so we find it easy to use."
  • "Odoo lacks a complete dashboard, and the reports are basic. The reporting could be improved by adding some graphics."

What is our primary use case?

We use Odoo's CRM module to manage all our customers' appliances and the business that we are working on. Previously, we used the HR module. Only the 12 members of the sales team use Odoo.

What is most valuable?

Odoo is user-friendly. It's the first solution we tried, so we find it easy to use.

What needs improvement?

Odoo lacks a complete dashboard, and the reports are basic. The reporting could be improved by adding some graphics.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Odoo for about two or three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Odoo is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I believe Odoo is scalable. We don't use all of the modules.

How are customer service and support?

I rate Odoo support seven out of 10. We didn't have local support in the beginning, but I saw an ad recently seeking partners here in Argentina, so maybe they have local support now. We don't need tech support often, but I believe their support is based in Finland, so the response time is delayed because of the time difference.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

Setting up Odoo is easy. Though I didn't do it, my team told me that it was straightforward. It requires two IT people to maintain.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Odoo seven out of 10. Compared to Salesforce, it's maybe a four or five, but it's okay for our purposes. If you plan to implement Odoo, you should take the time to learn the features. For example, we needed more time to set up the reporting module.
