The solution is very useful for manufacturing companies.
Good accounting and finance features but needs to have barcode functionality
Pros and Cons
- "You can scale the solution well."
- "Some features are missing."
What is our primary use case?

The initial setup is not too complex.
It's stable.
You can scale the solution well.
The pricing is good.
What needs improvement?
We have some problems around here, in Business One. It's hard to have separate models. We have to make multiple forms and have problems doing that. In manufacturing, we do not have things like the actual cost of the fabric, loss of material, the various costs of raw materials, et cetera.
Some features are missing.
We'd like to see the solution support barcode features.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for around five years.

The product is stable and reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable.
We have 125 licenses.
How are customer service and support?
There are some problems in technical support in Pakistan.
I have a big license for SAP Business One, one of the 20 licenses. And S4HANA's support in Python is not ideal. Our control team many times has complained due to the slow, slow response for Business One. If you upgrade the hardware, you should get more services.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We want to move to S4HANA as it has a better design.
How was the initial setup?
The product does not require a complex setup.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is pretty good. We did not find it to be too expensive.
What other advice do I have?
We are consultants and have customers in Pakistan using it.
I'd rate the solution six out of ten.

What needs improvement?
In its licensing model and the offering of a pure SaaS solution, which would interest many customers today.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's a stable product, on the market for more than 20 years, continually evolving and supported with upgrades.

The installation isn't difficult but requires about three to four months on average as it's not plug-and-play.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It's not cheap but offers good value, particularly for medium-sized enterprises. We suggest a minimum budget of around 30,000 dollars.
What other advice do I have?
My recommendation depends on your current setup. If you're starting from scratch, SAP Business One is highly recommended. If you already have an established system, it would be considered an upgrade.
Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten. In terms of usability and industry fit, I find that a lot of customers are able to get at least 80% of their business needs addressed by the solution.

What is our primary use case?
The solution offers a complete module encompassing finance, material management, sales, and CRM. Additionally, plugins are available, including those for taxation, particularly for GST.
In my work, I use this application extensively to manage our services. Since our company primarily deals with services, it helps in inventory tracking, maintenance, and service management. The application offers end-to-end visibility, allowing me to monitor various aspects such as vendor shipments, warehouse inventory, items in transit, and documentation related to taxation and transportation.
What is most valuable?

I have been using the product for ten years.

A solution with great sales and wholesale distribution features
Pros and Cons
- "The sales and wholesale distribution are great."
- "We don't have the functionality of the supply chain and mobile applications."
How has it helped my organization?
We are very satisfied with SAP Business One application. It is deployed on-premises. We reviewed the cost of cloud, and it is very expensive. We have about 200 users on-premises and plan to remain on-premises.
What is most valuable?
The sales and wholesale distribution are great.
What needs improvement?
We don't have the functionality of the supply chain and mobile applications and use third-party applications for this. We sell our products in little stores, and we need a phone to take the requirements of our customers, and the information goes to SAP. We have 15 warehouses to track picking, packing and all the processes in sales and the supply chain. So it is also essential to have good business intelligence.
Our problem is that we have five or six companies using SAP Business One, and when we need to have a disaster recovery plan, we need to execute a full backup of all of our companies. We need to have a backup for only one company, which is impossible.
How are customer service and support?
Our technical support is from our partner in Guatemala City, and we don't need to scale the problem to SAP. Our partner has great support, and we are very satisfied with their service.
What other advice do I have?
I rate the solution a nine out of ten. We are concerned with the Web Client because it doesn't have the old features we had on a desktop. In addition, we need more flexibility in the authorization process for purchasing because we don't have all the information we need to approve. We need to navigate different areas for information, and we only need one screen with all the information for the approved process.

How was the initial setup?
We encountered manageable challenges within our team's capabilities during the initial setup. It took approximately a year to deploy it across all 13 companies in our group.
We have a dedicated team of six members responsible for ongoing maintenance. I rate the process as an eight out of ten.

I'm not that technical and therefore don't have many details about the general setup.

We had some outside assistance to help us with the initial setup.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It is my understanding that we pay for a perpetual license. You just pay for it once and then handle maintenance. It is not too expensive.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We have been looking into other options as well.
What other advice do I have?
I am using an older version. It may be version four or six.
I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

Strong production capabilities, highly scalable, and reduces management personnel
Pros and Cons
- "SAP Business One has valuable and helpful features for standard utilities, such as sales, purchasing, inventory, and finance, including Indian localization. Additionally, it is strong in the area of production. It has enhanced capabilities in advanced production planning, maintenance, and other features as needed through the use of add-ons provided by partners. These add-ons run within the solution and can be provided to customers based on their specific production needs."
- "The standard SAP Business One is sufficient for the Indian region. There is no need for further enhancement as custom solutions can be designed and developed to meet specific needs. For example, HR and payroll is not a standard feature of the solution, but they can be created as a separate custom solution. However, payroll is not a standard function due to the varying norms and regulations across India's 29 states and union territories. Therefore, a standard payroll solution cannot be provided by SAP to add utility and features. Adding it would lead to different versions of the solution and more complexity in managing them. However, it would be useful to have addons to cover the other states which have different regulations."
What is our primary use case?
The main use case for SAP Business One is for small and medium-sized enterprises in various industries, such as manufacturing, trading, and services. It can be implemented across various domains.
What is most valuable?
SAP Business One has valuable and helpful features for standard utilities, such as sales, purchasing, inventory, and finance, including Indian localization. Additionally, it is strong in the area of production. It has enhanced capabilities in advanced production planning, maintenance, and other features as needed through the use of add-ons provided by partners. However, it would be useful to have addons to cover the other states which have different regulations.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP Business One for approximately 12 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
SAP Business One is highly stable in regions or countries where the taxation norms are simple, such as European and American companies. However, in regions such as India or Asia, where more customizations are required, it may be less stable. In those cases, support would be needed to manage stability.
I rate the stability of SAP Business One an eight out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability of SAP Business One is great. It is highly scalable and can be designed and developed to add any kind of features and functionalities required. Additionally, it is highly integrable with other third-party applications.
I rate the scalability of SAP Business One a ten out of ten.

The support typically provides query resolution for the customers and customization if it is required.
I rate the support from SAP Business One a nine out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of SAP Business One is straightforward, but it depends on the specific processes and requirements of the organization. It may need to be configured to fit the organization's needs.
The implementation for a trading company will take a minimum of two and a half months. If it is a manufacturing company, the time can be higher, approximately eight to nine months.
I rate the initial setup of SAP Business One an eight out of ten.
What about the implementation team?
We used three to four technical people for the implementation of the solution.

Utilizing SAP Business One can greatly reduce the people needed for management and time efforts for the organization. We estimate that by using this system, inventory management costs can be reduced by five to eight percent.
I rate the ROI from SAP Business One an eight out of ten.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price of SAP Business One is not comparable to other solutions. SAP is a well-known brand, and its price is on the higher side. However, if the solution offers the right fit for an organization the price is not a major concern for those who choose to use it.
There are two main types of licenses, one for administrative management and the other for users. Users are the ones who input the transactions. In addition, there are other licenses, such as integration licenses that are provided as needed. However, generally, there are two types of licenses.

I rate SAP Business One a ten out of ten.

Independent Consultant at Bosch&Cia
Powerful with good integrations and excellent online documentation
Pros and Cons
- "It's very powerful and very complete."
- "You get support through the vendor, not SAP directly. If your vendor is good, you get good support. If it is not a good vendor, the support is very bad."
What is our primary use case?
Both of our customers are retailers - one in the construction sector and other with automotive parts. We have a great number of items and clients in both enterprises.
We can use the solution to guarantee the enterprise, the technology platform. We've been working with COBOL and SQL for more than 20 years, and we have to migrate to a platform with international knowledge or experience.
We have experience in ERP development and also the technological projection for the short and long term. That's why we chose to work with SAP Business One.
What is most valuable?
The parametrization and the integration of all the models is great. All the models are integrated well.
The UX experience is also very good.
It's very powerful and very complete.
The setup is pretty straightforward.
It's a scalable product.
It is quite stable.
The solution offers excellent online documentation.
It seems that SAP is always giving you much more tips and upgrades than you are expecting.
What needs improvement?
Business One has a lot of data in each model, and it should be quite important to make the UX or interface for end users more simple. We can do it with other software and with some user interface that comes with SAP, however, that is perhaps the one meaningful issue to solve.
When you want to work with data master items, there is no good manner to classify or to group the items. We have to do it with user information. They really need better classification of items. We have a lot of items, and SAP Business One comes only with one parameter to group the items and 64 properties. However, that is not what the system needs at all.
There's not much that needs fixing. It's been a very good experience through the years.
You get support through the vendor, not SAP directly. If your vendor is good, you get good support. If it is not a good vendor, the support is very bad.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for ten years. I started using it in 2012.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's stable and reliable. The performance is good. There are no bugs or glitches.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution scales well.
I am working with 200 end users now, and it seems that the two people we have for support of the ERP is good.
How are customer service and support?
We have the contact and support of the partner that sold us the SAP application. Therefore, support comes through a third party.
From the vendor, support is very good. In some areas, we must view and understand the topics through information on the web, not directly through them.
SAP doesn't give us support directly. The support of SAP is with partner intermediation. However, you must study and learn from the web every time. That's key for understanding and giving good support for the software.
We had to change partners to get a better support system in place and now they are good. The documentation, however, is stellar, and I would rate what's online a ten out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
After you know stuff about the software, it's easy.
YOu only need two or three people to put up the solution. They are specialists.
What other advice do I have?
I'm a consultant and a user. We consider ourselves a partner.
It's a very good product. Whoever wants to buy this product, needs to understand how SAP works through a partner or directly. The enterprise must have a technical counterpart with a lot of experience, real experience since the software doesn't work alone. It's very good software, however, if you depend exclusively on the partner, that doesn't work very well.
I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.
