We use it for finance, warehouse, and sales.

User-friendly, easy to implement, and stable
Pros and Cons
- "All parts for inventory control, project budget, accounting, and business information are valuable. It is very friendly to obtain information. It is also very easy to make the changes that we need. We have a developer with us, and he can make the required changes or rules."
- "There should be a portal so that our providers can give us their invoices. This is something that it is missing currently. SAP provides such a portal with SAP ERP, but it is not available with SAP Business One."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
All parts for inventory control, project budget, accounting, and business information are valuable.
It is very friendly to obtain information. It is also very easy to make the changes that we need. We have a developer with us, and he can make the required changes or rules.
What needs improvement?
There should be a portal so that our providers can give us their invoices. This is something that it is missing currently. SAP provides such a portal with SAP ERP, but it is not available with SAP Business One.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution for two years. We implemented it in 2019.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is stable. When you're using a public cloud, it can be a little slow, which depends on your cloud provider. In the beginning, it was very slow. We then switched to Amazon, and since then, we haven't had any problems.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't used their technical support. We have a developer for any help.
How was the initial setup?
Its implementation is really easy. The hardest part is to change the process flow of the company.
What other advice do I have?
We evaluate every solution very closely before purchase. It gives us what we need, and we are using all the features that we need. We haven't had any problems.
It is very important to go for a contract that doesn't include paying your public cloud provider's company for development. It will give you the possibility to make your own changes without having to pay your public cloud vendor. You need to check the contracts to ensure that you can make changes without requesting the support of the public cloud vendor.
I would rate SAP Business One a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Helps many organizations to fix their inventory management processes
Pros and Cons
- "The Material Requirements Planning (MRP) feature of SAP Business One has been most beneficial for our reporting needs."
- "The solution's CRM module can be made better."
What is most valuable?
The Material Requirements Planning (MRP) feature of SAP Business One has been most beneficial for our reporting needs.
What needs improvement?
The solution's CRM module can be made better. SAP Business One does not have an HRMS.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP Business One for four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
SAP Business One is a stable solution that provides many updates.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Our clients for SAP Business One are usually small and medium-level businesses.
I rate the solution ten out of ten for scalability.
How was the initial setup?
It's difficult to implement the system and get the client's requirements, but after that, it's good.
What about the implementation team?
It takes around two to three months to implement the main parts of SAP Business One.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
If the client's budget is low, they go for SAP Business One. If their budget is high, they go for other products.
What other advice do I have?
SAP Business One is really good and has helped many organizations to fix their inventory management processes. The solution's CRM functionalities are good, but not that good. We can integrate other CRM systems like Salesforce and Odoo with SAP Business One.
Depending on the customer's needs, the solution can be deployed both on-premises and on the cloud. Gathering client requirements is a big challenge for us during the solution's implementation. I would recommend the solution to other SMBs.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

A stable and all-in-one solution for small businesses
Pros and Cons
- "This is an all-in-one ERP solution for small businesses. Everything is linked. Once you have this, you have all the features available in SAP. You have PR, inventory items, journal entry, and project management features."
- "I would love to have more reporting capabilities. It should have an embedded BI engine. Currently, I have to maintain an additional system for BI."
What is our primary use case?
We have it for ERP use. It's mainly for finance use.
How has it helped my organization?
It's very beneficial because everybody is using the same software and the same coding, which makes it very easy to consolidate.
What is most valuable?
This is an all-in-one ERP solution for small businesses. Everything is linked. Once you have this, you have all the features available in SAP. You have PR, inventory items, journal entry, and project management features.
What needs improvement?
HR and project management areas could be better.
I would love to have more reporting capabilities. It should have an embedded BI engine. Currently, I have to maintain an additional system for BI.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution for 10 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's stable. We didn't have any problems.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It's scalable. You need one database for one legal entity. Those databases are in the cloud. They are out there on the same server, but you need to manage them separately. It's not a unified database. There is a separate database for each legal entity, which is the main difference between this SAP and the big SAP.
We have around 50 users who are using this solution. Its users are finance people, and then we have one internal developer who does the maintenance and upgrades and provides support.
How are customer service and support?
We don't usually need support, and if we need it, usually we have local partners for support. It's something that fits with the system. It's stable and once in a year or two, we do an upgrade if the new features are justified.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We didn't use any other solution previously.
How was the initial setup?
I wasn't there during the setup, but you need to know the system in order to set it up. If you know, it's not a complicated setup. If your data is ready, the setup can be done in two weeks.
What other advice do I have?
It depends on what your needs are. It's very good for small businesses, and if the main challenge is the setup, then you would need a professional to do that. You need to know the system. It's not Excel that you can just sit down and play. It requires setup, migration, and coding. You need to know what you are doing, but it's not difficult if you know what you are doing.
I would rate it an eight out of ten because of the reporting or BI engine. It should have an embedded BI engine.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Private Cloud

Financial Controller at a logistics company with 501-1,000 employees
Reliable, easy to use and install
Pros and Cons
- "It's simple to use and very direct."
- "I am not sure if it has an HR and Payroll functionality, but it would be helpful and make it a more complete ERP if they could put the HR and Payroll functionality in it."
What is our primary use case?
I work in a small college. It is a small to medium-sized enterprise, with few requirements. We are in the service sector and this product works for us.
We have done some integrations with our operational software. We are doing the billing, warehouse management, and inventory management.
We are doing financials.
We also do a full end-to-end procurement from purchasing.
What is most valuable?
It's simple to use and very direct.
I like the simplicity and that it's not very complicated.
What needs improvement?
I would like to see some shortcuts. Sometimes, you find that you have used some ERPs and other systems that make use of external data from applications such as Excel. If you have some information in Excel and you want to easily customize it for entry for SAP then this is an area that is a problem. If you want to do this then it becomes difficult. I know that there are avenues where it can be done, but it becomes difficult. It is much more difficult when you compare it with what I have experienced with some other systems.
I am not sure if it has an HR and Payroll functionality, but it would be helpful and make it a more complete ERP if they could put the HR and Payroll functionality in it.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been worked with this solution for six years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's a stable solution. We haven't had any limitations yet.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have approximately 50 users.
How are customer service and technical support?
We haven't contacted technical support through SAP.
We have a local support partner here. When we have some small issues, we are able to go through them and they help us.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was straightforward. It wasn't very difficult.
We don't require a team for maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We feel that the licensing fees are a bit on the higher side. If there is a scope for reductions, it would be very welcome.
The price could always be reduced.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Business One to someone who is the in the scale of what we do. It's a pretty stable system. That said, there is always room for improvement in any product.
I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Customizable with an easy initial setup and a simple interface
Pros and Cons
- "It offers users a rather simple interface."
- "In terms of business processes, the production could use improvement."
What is our primary use case?
I primarily implement the solution for manufacturing companies.
How has it helped my organization?
The solution has helped with inventory, especially. Having the right inventory figures in the system has really helped companies. It's helpful in making cash orders for sales better due to the fact that the ordering approval process is streamlined.
What is most valuable?
The customization features are the solution's most valuable aspect. You can make user-defined fields and user-defined forms and those make life very easy for the business. The fact that you can do some customization without going into any coding is great.
It offers users a rather simple interface. I like its interface as it is nice and compact. It's user-friendly and easy to navigate.
The initial setup isn't too complicated.
What needs improvement?
If I compare it to bigger ERPs, I'd like to see some more time management options and maybe some better expense management features.
In terms of business processes, the production could use improvement. There could be more maintenance fields.
In some places, there are still many areas that could be enhanced.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been working with the solution for a long time. It's likely been over five years at this point.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I haven't noticed any problems with stability. Security-wise, I don't see any issues in the backend of the SQL server. It's okay due to the fact that it is closed off. The reports can become heavy on SQL, so it sometimes slows down.
In general, I haven't dealt with bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
If the solution was more customizable, it would be more scalable. We can scale it to some extent. However, it could be a bit better.
How are customer service and technical support?
Typically, the partner or consultant provides technical support, and not the company itself. I wouldn't be able to directly comment on their own technical support. I don't have enough insight into it.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup isn't too complex. It's very straightforward. There is an implementation center for Business One, however, I didn't use any of it during this project. The project management activities in terms of the initial setup sometimes require authorization instead of initialization and it should maybe be better. In general, though, it's pretty logical.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is pretty good. It's not bad if you compare it to other software on the market - such as Microsoft GP or AX.
What other advice do I have?
Due to the countries I work in, largely on-premises deployments are the norm and are preferred.
I used to work with different companies for Business One because my main job is as an implementer. I work as an ERP manager as well, however, my main work is implementation.
I would rate the solution at a nine out of ten. We've been mostly very happy with the product.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Good ERP software for overall company management
Pros and Cons
- "SAP Business One consolidates various functions, including production, sales, inventory, and purchase management."
- "There are issues with inventory management and quality management."
How has it helped my organization?
Our organization has been using SAP Business One as an ERP software for overall company management, which includes production, sales, inventory management, and purchase management.
What needs improvement?
We have continued to use SAP Business ONE due to its add-ons and customization options, but there are still some areas that could use improvement. Otherwise, there are issues with inventory management and quality management, as well as the software not providing detailed information for production.
We managed to continue using SAP Business One with the help of add-ons.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP Business One for the past eleven years. The current version we are using is 9.2.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable. I would rate it a seven out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
I would give technical support a six out of ten. There is room for improvement, particularly in areas such as quality management, production operations, and store inventory management. We faced some constraints but managed to overcome them by using add-ons.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
We deployed the solution on the premises, on our own servers. The whole process took almost a year.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I would rate the cost of licensing SAP Business One a six out of ten, with one being low-priced and ten being very expensive.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I evaluated Microsoft Dynamics and Oracle NetSuite. The Microsoft solution costs more, and they have add-ons instead of customization.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Business One because it's cheap and user-friendly, and I would give it an overall rating of eight out of ten.

Reasonable price, good Sales CRM and Financials, but not suitable for manufacturing and needs SCM and payroll process
Pros and Cons
- "Sales CRM and Financials are most valuable."
- "It is limiting in terms of the in-between communication for manufacturing. We are suffering from a lot of issues in production. We are now considering S/4HANA, and we are also looking for some customized tools to integrate with SAP Business One."
What is most valuable?
Sales CRM and Financials are most valuable.
What needs improvement?
It is limiting in terms of the in-between communication for manufacturing. We are suffering from a lot of issues in production. We are now considering S/4HANA, and we are also looking for some customized tools to integrate with SAP Business One.
It should have SCM and the payroll process for workers.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution since 2018.
How are customer service and technical support?
SAP's technical support is average. They are not too good but also not too bad.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We were working with legacy Oracle Customize.
How was the initial setup?
Its initial setup is easy. It is not too complex.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Its price is reasonable. We have about 200 licenses. We have to pay every year for the license.
What other advice do I have?
A big sales organization that is not into manufacturing can use SAP Business One.
I would rate SAP Business One a six out of 10.
