Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

Containerization allows us to keep personal and corporate data separate, though better integration with AD is needed
I would like to see better integration with our AD. Instead of having to use Active Directory groups, we'd like to use Active Directory attributes instead. There is a lot of overhead in managing. Whereas, if we could key on something tied to HR, or some other feed indicating who they are or what role they have, and manage them that way, that would be much preferable than having to manage people with Active Directory groups. Because, if people move roles, then we have to make sure that we move them from one Active Directory group to another, which is hands-on, a lot of overhead. Also, they could improve their QA. There are many times where something will be released, a new client will be released, and something gets broken. Or they do a release and they don't take into consideration how some people may be using parts of it. Even though it's supported, they release something and it breaks it because they weren't aware of it. The biggest thing for me right now is, I would like to see improvement in their QA. I'm tired of getting broken software. I would also like to see continued integration with the Microsoft suite of tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., on a mobile device. Continue to improve that experience. Continue to move down that track, and partner with Microsoft, and other vendors, so we can make it a fully functioning suite; that we don't have to manage things on separate consoles. They should continue their strategic partnerships with others in this space, continue to move forward and allow us to have the integration that our customers want.

Feature-rich, easy to use, and has responsive technical support
We are working on the proof of concept for both MobileIron and Workspace ONE. We are only testing MobileIron and Workspace ONE. After that, we will decide which device to use. Workspace ONE by VMware Similarly, we will use MobileIron as a mobile device management tool, allowing us to manage our endpoints remotely. So far, we have not had any issues with VMware, and we have resolved some, if not all, of the issues. I have been testing with VMware Workspace ONE for the same amount of time as MobileIron UEM, three weeks. We are using the latest version, and it is deployed on a public cloud. The cloud provider is VMware. I have also been working with Google Chrome. Google Workspace is an email production tool provided by Google. We don't have a firewall because we're in the cloud right now. We have no on-premises network and all of our systems are hosted in the cloud.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Its direct integration with all the other products that we have from Microsoft is valuable. We're using the E5 license, and we have a whole wealth of different products available. It just makes it easier to have everything from one provider."
"The most valuable includes managing everything from a single console."
"Intune is effective because of the configuration management and endpoint security it provides. The graphical interface makes it easier to configure and deploy devices."
"It's normally able to meet 100% expectations of our customers."
"The ability to (somewhat) manage full Windows 10 computers including EXE-based or MSI-based application deployments using Azure Active Directory as Identity."
"I find Microsoft Intune valuable primarily for its Windows management capabilities, along with its Android Enterprise and Apple device management for mobile devices."
"It supports end-users who tend to lock their devices quite frequently. Its conditional access policy helps us keep the users logged into their devices."
"The ability to wipe data from and reset devices is one of the most important and valuable features. If a device is reported stolen, we can freeze it or wipe the data from it, preventing data leakage."
"It has a good ease of use, and its intuitive."
"It keeps things secure, it can remotely wipe the container and it's fairly easy to use."
"The functionality with UEM and BlackBerry Works, the shared calendar, is a massive improvement for us."
"Having access to our internet was extremely beneficial. We don't have that functionality now that we have switched to Microsoft Intune. It was definitely better with Blackberry."
"It does support hardware and operating system configurations from every angle."
"It allows me to be able to access my email when I do not necessarily have my computer with me. I can also access my calendar when I am on public transport or outside of the office."
"Access to the emails on the go was most valuable. Having access to your emails in a secure way is one of the most important features of this solution. Blackberry ensures data security, and as a user, I can use it while on roaming or wherever I am."
"It was an improvement when we got the Tasks and the Notes as well as Connect for Skype For Business."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"The most valuable feature is that everything is in one place, which makes it easy to manage."
"It's effective in what it is able to achieve and it's easy to use."
"The most valuable features of MobileIron UEM are tunneling and enterprise integration."
"The company provides great customer service."
"The user interface is user-friendly."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."

Cons

"At this time, I do not have any areas for improvement. I have heard about some downtime, but I am not in the local IT team."
"The interface is not as modern as some competitors in terms of single pane of glass visibility across the entire landscape. It has a very Azure vibe and may not be as graphically appealing as other products."
"I think that there is room for improvement with the reporting. If this is done, it will be a better product."
"Some enrollment features could be improved."
"I know that their AI pieces are at the infancy stage, but allowing users to do more tagging for information would be an interesting thing because Intune also directly integrates with Azure. Because a lot of the devices are hosted with that, you also get a lot of tagging of user data and other things like that."
"The time we have to wait to deploy policies has room for improvement."
"I would like to see easier pushdowns. Currently, we have to package our own software and then push it. Intune can make that way easier and integrate applications, such as Zoom and Adobe Acrobat, that are used by a lot of enterprise or corporate organizations."
"There can be delays in the deployment of new policies."
"It would be ideal if there was something for communication with Microsoft tools like Teams or Skype for Business, or perhaps even with Zoom for conference calls."
"Some users have complained that some features cannot be done through the BlackBerry Access Hub."
"What we don't have at the moment is RDP from the device to some kind of PC. Another feature would be access to a delegate's mailbox and I think that is to come in one of the next releases. There have been a lot of requests for that type of feature where, for example, a secretary can access the mailbox of the boss."
"The only thing is that the UEM service is a little slow. We have a product production environment, and a test environment and both of them are a little slow. When you are using the UEM Web interface, it takes time to load."
"More devices supported like iOS, Android, and API so it can support various platforms to enhance the experience."
"The installations on the device could be simpler. It is a good solution, and all the features are there. So, there isn't a lot to improve. I'm sure they already have their thought process on how to improve it."
"The interface could be improved."
"The console needs improvement. It does not provide all the information that we are looking for as far as who has installed a certain product."
"The interface is complicated and not very easy to use."
"MobileIron UEM could improve the monitoring of devices."
"We would like the initial setup to be simpler."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti. The test team or the testing procedures are flawed because they release new versions with numerous basic issues."
"UI needs an upgrade, feels very outdated."
"The integration between the MobileIron and Advanced Neurons isn't completely in sync, and we're still working on that."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is cheap, but as compared to Google, it is costly. Google is cheaper, but quality-wise, Microsoft Intune is better."
"Every customer used to purchase licenses based on their needs."
"It's affordable for the protection it gives. There are no additional costs."
"We spend a lot of money on Intune licensing, and some of our users have to be double licensed just because of how our dev and corporate environments are segmented."
"For organizations that are a Microsoft shop, the pricing is compelling."
"The pricing is competitive, but it is not cheap."
"It is reasonable for the features it has."
"This cost is approximately $30 USD per user per month."
"For the number of licenses, I believe it was approximately $500,000 per year, or for three years."
"We pay about $6 a year for the solution. There are no extra costs on top of that. You save a lot of money when you use this product."
"The licensing costs are paid on a yearly basis because we just renewed the license. If you have some big issue, they will also charge you."
"Sometimes, it is very hard to get an overview because there are so many different suites to find out what is the right thing for new customers."
"We are paying $200 annually. You also need to have a hardware server or a license for the server so there could be some additional fees added on to that."
"With the new licensing model, there seems to be a significant increase in cost, which makes it difficult to push forward and talk with the business."
"We currently pay by the year, but the licenses are calculated on a monthly basis."
"In my opinion, we're paying an awful lot for what we get, compared to other vendors. I don't deal with the pricing, but it does seem to be a bit pricey for the things that we get, especially, when you compare them to other vendors, such as VMware, Citrix, who have all bought up other players in this space. VMware offers AirWatch free as part of their packages."
"My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
"The price of MobileIron UEM is very good."
