Centralized device management has transformed security and streamlined remote provisioning
One area where Microsoft Intune can improve is the user interface. Sometimes the portal feels a bit complex and not very intuitive, especially for new users, and it can take time to find specific settings. Another point is troubleshooting. While logs are available, the diagnostic policies and sync issues can still be time-consuming and not very straightforward. I also feel that reporting could be more detailed and customizable. The built-in reports are helpful, but for deeper insights, I often need to rely on additional tools. Overall, it is a strong solution, but improving usability and troubleshooting experience would make it even better. While Microsoft Intune works very well within the Microsoft ecosystem, the integration of some third-party tools could be smoother and require less customization. Support is another area that could improve, as sometimes response times can be slow, and resolving complex issues may take longer than expected. In terms of features, I think more advanced automation and built-in remediation options would be helpful since common issues can be fixed automatically without manual intervention.

Seamless provisioning and application deployment enhance workflow, yet enhancements in asset and software spend management roles are acknowledged
The zero-touch capability where you can install all the business applications and deliver the laptop to the user, who just needs to log on to complete everything without any human intervention, are the best features in Ivanti Neurons for MDM. We have security features, patch management, compliance reports, and dashboards integrated within Ivanti.

I have not encountered many areas for improvement, but there are feature requests submitted to Jamf Pro for reporting purposes that they are working on. Jamf Pro continues to increase its capabilities. One improvement I would recommend is integrating Jamf Setup Manager as an inbuilt feature. Currently, it is a separate tool that needs to be installed and integrated with Jamf Pro. Having zero-touch capability as an inbuilt feature would eliminate the need to work with scripts and configurations. The pricing of Jamf Pro is relatively high. Jamf Pro does not have a fixed price for all organizations. Based on my experience, they offer discounts inconsistently. Due to the high pricing, many organizations are moving to InTune and Workspace ONE. There are many other tools in the market for Mac OS device management, such as ScaleFusion, Addigy, and Kandji. Small organizations are moving to these alternatives, and larger organizations with fewer security concerns are moving to InTune. Despite being expensive, I still rate Jamf Pro highly because of its security features and comprehensive management capabilities for Mac OS devices.

Pros

"Using zero-touch deployment and Windows Autopilot in Microsoft Intune has significantly improved my workflow and organization."
"It is a stable solution."
"Microsoft's cloud comes with a lot of extra features that are free of charge."
"The most reliable feature is the integration with Microsoft XDR, which grants administrators and solution architects like me the ability to bring value to a business."
"The feature that we need occasionally but is really important is the ability to remotely wipe a device, control it, and perform similar functions."
"The best feature in Microsoft Intune is zero touch deployment, which allows me to automate many tasks compared to manually installing Windows and applications one by one, making it easier to enroll devices with Autopilot and pre-deploy applications."
"The solution is easy to use."
"We have very good technical support; when we had big issues, the support was fantastic, I have nothing to complain about, and it was important for us to have that level of security from the company."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"The most valuable feature is that everything is in one place, which makes it easy to manage."
"The most valuable features of MobileIron UEM are tunneling and enterprise integration."
"The solution is good, it's effective in what it is able to achieve and it's easy to use."
"The user interface is user-friendly."
"MobileIron UEM is a scalable solution."
"The products are quite good when they are operational."
"It is a first-rate product and well known in the industry as the gold standard for Apple device management."
"The most valuable features in Jamf Pro are the policies and config profiles, making our life easy to manage many different things in one place."
"Being able to place troubleshooting scripts in the hands of end-users has changed the game."
"There is support for Apple updates from day one. Jamf works closely with Apple, so they are ready to support new updates whenever Apple pushes them."
"Navigation is straightforward. It's not hard to create policies and manage the device. It's a lot simpler to create smart groups, view inventory, and see what the estate looks like."
"The most valuable feature is the self-service, which lets users install their preferred application instead of installing all applications and filling the machine with junk."
"We used to need more resources to manage our devices, and with Jamf Pro, we can now do more with less, which is the ideal situation."
"Without Jamf Pro, we would not have been so successful and quick at implementing such a high number of devices in our classrooms."

Cons

"Intune has all the features enabled for Windows devices but needs to be improved on iOS and Apple devices."
"Intune could be improved by organizing different solutions, like Defender and Sentinel, into a single package. This would allow us to focus on security while Microsoft manages other areas. Having a unified solution would drive better management of various sectors. Although the Intune user experience is good, we should continue enhancing it."
"Microsoft Intune has potential for improvement; I would like to see a lot more customization in the reporting tools."
"The reporting needs to be a bit more interactive."
"The solution requires Mac support."
"Once it's configured it is unobtrusive, but it does take some hands-on to configure and deploy it properly."
"I find the price for Microsoft Intune too high, which represents an area for improvement in Microsoft's pricing model."
"I have experienced downtime, bugs, and glitches. I rate it a seven because when we have bugs or instability in Microsoft Intune, we need to wait for the backend from Microsoft Intune to resolve issues and we can't deliver solutions to clients because we need to wait for action plans and related processes."
"The integration between the MobileIron and Advanced Neurons isn't completely in sync, and we're still working on that."
"My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
"The release of new versions often goes in the wrong direction with Ivanti."
"UI needs an upgrade, feels very outdated."
"It was not an easy initial setup for us. It was a bit difficult and not really straightforward."
"We would like the initial setup to be simpler."
"The interface is complicated and not very easy to use."
"MobileIron UEM could improve the monitoring of devices."
"I would love to see GSX (Apple Global Service Exchange) integration populate purchasing data during the enrollment process."
"Sometimes the Jamf's cloud-hosted servers feel like they could be a little more powerful."
"I am always complaining about the reporting side of things. I love how reporting lets us create custom reports, however, I also feel like it could use some updating."
"I would like to see either a report section or an integration with a new reporting module to allow us to pull real metrics from the system easily."
"I'd like to see better reporting features."
"It would be nice if there was a built-in means of renaming computers that worked reliably."
"The solution should offer beta testing for new products."
"The self Service UI needs some real improvement; they recently revamped the app, but I don't know if those changes have been for the better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's bundled with Business Premium and an E3 license, which is beneficial. If you have to pay extra, it's pricey, but with the bundled package, it's acceptable. They recently increased the Business Premium pricing, which we don't appreciate. The price increase and yearly commitment are causing some problems for us."
"The price of Intune is included with the license for Office 365, so we don't have to pay anything extra for it."
"Microsoft Intune costs about $7 per user per month, which is somewhat on the pricier end. That said, it's a reliable product, so it's fair."
"Existing E5 license holders for M365, Intune, and Azure, receive a free license."
"Microsoft Intune is available for individual purchase at a low per-device cost."
"Consider the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite rather than choosing specific sub-components, e.g. only Microsoft Intune."
"It's a bit expensive from a licensing perspective, especially as we look to have organizations with tenants across the globe."
"With one user base license, we can use Intune for up to five devices. However, with Soti MobiControl, each license is tied to a single device, meaning one license is dedicated to one device only."
"The price of MobileIron UEM is very good."
"My impression is that MobileIron is very expensive."
"Don’t go into a sales call without knowing all the details of your system because Jamf has a ton of tools outside of Jamf Pro to offer and knowing them ahead of time is a must."
"This product is surely worth the cost of implementation."
"JumpStart is available at an additional cost."
"Jamf is quite up there. It wasn't the cheapest solution, but it's reasonable. Apigee was cheaper than Jamf."
"They have a standard pricing model which they follow, and it's global."
"This is a pricey solution."
"With respect to pricing, Jamf Pro is the better bet."
"I think it pays for itself to let Jamf host the server."
