Highly scalable, stable, and has automation and integration features
As Oracle E-Business Suite is an ERP system, it has a complex implementation process. It's unlike any other software you can install and start using immediately. The system requires installation, then configuration, so depending on the complexity of the business, it takes around three to six months to configure and run it within the organization. Installing the software onto the server, for example, isn't a matter of one to two days maximum. The steps to deploy Oracle E-Business Suite depend on your business requirement, how you map your business requirements into the system, and how you want the system to operate according to your needs. It varies based on the complexity of your business where Oracle E-Business Suite would be implemented.

The benefits and BI features are valuable.
Benefits BI Automation, rules for life insurance, etc., are areas with room for improvement. I have used it for five years. We have not encountered any deployment issues. We have not encountered any stability issues. We have not encountered any scalability issues. Customer Service: I rate…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a solution for GFMIS (Governmental Fiscal Management Information Systems)."
"I think one of the best use cases is centralizing supplier and customer data into our finance system. We identified there were so many duplicate suppliers and customers and so a lot of time was spent reporting."
"Everyone in the company is quite used to the Oracle functionality."
"E-Business Suite's best features are the standard process, the table dictionary, and the ability to work with the SQL language to correlate data."
"I like the automation and integration features of Oracle E-Business Suite."
"Valuable features include expense management and the accounting suite of products."
"EBS has lots of application families and lots of features. It is modular in deployment and flexible enough to let the customer increase the built-in capabilities and enable new applications when needed. These are very important things at hand in case there will be a need to expand the product capabilities and/or implement new projects."
"On-Time Payroll and its features are user-friendly."
"The setup process is straightforward."
"UKG allows us to customize our home screen so that we can easily monitor important items on a daily basis."
"I like UKG's integration."
"The fact that I can see the whole HR information in a single point is valuable. There is a unified view of everything, which is good. Previously, we had many different systems for each part of the information. Now, it is all centralized. It is very good."
"The solution's UI is good. Also, it is very easy to use."
"The employee self-service feature is most valuable. This is the restaurant industry, and they have a mobile app that allows employees to go in and manage their data. So, employees can manage direct deposit accounts, emergency contacts, and other things in the app. That's definitely the biggest benefit."
"I have found the most valuable feature to be business intelligence and Cognos reporting."
"It is much easier to use and the customer service is better than our previous solution."

Cons

"A downside of Oracle E-Business Suite is its interface because it's less user-friendly than the latest cloud solutions. As an organization, Oracle now has more interest in cloud applications, so nowadays, it doesn't focus much on Oracle E-Business Suite, an on-premises solution, so this is another downside."
"There are some cycles in HR that are not straightforward."
"HRMS analyzers should be automatically updated to be the most recent because Oracle support always asks for the latest version of the analyzer output."
"It's difficult for some customers to understand in the beginning. A user really has to understand the processes."
"The document that supports the Oracle E-Business Suite regarding the installation and upgrading is long compared to other products and needs to be enhanced."
"Oracle E-Business Suite uses an old technology (Forms), which is Java-based."
"I would like to see more automation."
"They don't have built-in bank integrations, which would be very helpful."
"One area where UKG could improve is in its ability to understand its own competency and then work hard to improve it."
"Certainly, the time and attendance and the payroll integration need a lot of work. They are disjointed pieces, and they don't work smoothly together. That's the main drawback."
"UKG could be a little more flexible in some areas."
"I would like the capability to use UKG as a single platform without the need to alternate between systems."
"The navigation on the screen could be better. Sometimes, I have to dig a little bit deep to find what I need. Everything is there. It just needs to be a little bit smoother."
"The tool needs improvement on the configuration side."
"The product's integration features need improvement."
"UKG has complex clock-in and clock-out features. It changes things too often, and it feels like the tool is constantly changing things without testing before implementing changes in production. Additionally, it doesn't communicate these changes very well."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Oracle has different licensing models available. For example, concurrent user license metric and power unit licensing metric. It is different from product to product, but for the application itself, the license is by the number of users."
"I have found the solution overall to be expensive. There are additional fees on top of the standard license."
"Find a best Oracle partner and get a better discount."
"We have an annual license to use the Oracle E-Business Suite and we have an enterprise license."
"Oracle generally gives a lot of discounts."
"Oracle's licenses are not straightforward."
"This is a highly-priced application and would not be affordable for small or medium business domains."
"Licensing and costing of Oracle EBS is very complex. We recommend to use a system integrator during the negotiation process since Oracle sales representatives sometime do not know the actual minimum requirements and may oversell the necessary licenses through ignorance."
"I wasn't involved in the pricing part. I'm a user, and I believe it is based on the user count. One thing that is nice about Ultimate is that you can learn how to use the system without additional fees. The learning aspect is the life of a product, and the training was a huge reason why we went with Ultimate. We did have some integration costs. They were a part of the implementation because of the integrations to other systems that we included in our implementation."
"UKG's pricing and licensing model involves ongoing expenses based on the number of employees paid. The initial implementation cost is low when UKG implements it directly. However, when partners handle the implementation, it becomes more expensive since partners don't receive the monthly recurring fees."
"The platform is not affordable but also not the most expensive."
"While I am unsure of the licensing cost itself, the total cost of implementation and licensing for a company with over 5000 employees would be around 6,00,000. So, there are additional costs beyond licensing."
