- "I would rate the vendor support around five out of ten. Sometimes, the support is slow, and they often suggest resorting to expert services."
What is our primary use case?
We are system integrators, so we implement and provide consulting around SailPoint. The product is used for identity governance, answering questions like who has access, what they have access to, and whether they should have access, especially for recertification.
We create processes for role-based access control, attribute-based access control, and policy-based access control. We also handle joiners, movers, and leavers in the organization.

SailPoint helps save time and money, eliminate human error, ensure compliance, improve security, remove orphan identities, handle rogue identities, and ensure there are no redundant identities.
Additionally, it reduces the operational overhead of audits.

The most valuable feature is the automation. The automation of provisioning and deprovisioning, managing contractors, temporary users, and the overall automation factor is fantastic. It brings efficiency in onboarding identities, restoring and extending accesses, and terminating accesses.
What needs improvement?
The pricing could be improved. Another aspect is that IdentityIQ should be more widely available on the cloud, especially in regions like the Middle East where residency issues are present.

The setup process is complex. For us, being veterans, we know the process very well, and it goes smoothly.
What about the implementation team?
We often help clients with the setup. We make the solution up and running and then hand it over to the client after providing knowledge transfer. We also provide managed services.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing of SailPoint could be better.

How was the initial setup?
It was a standard installation. It wasn't too complicated or easy. It is a typical out-of-the-box installation. We could do it all ourselves with our in-house engineering capability. We need at least one engineer for deployment and maintenance and 10 people for support. It's a multi-year project for us split into three phases. I was there for phase one and part of the second phase. The third phase is ongoing.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price of IdentityIQ could be lower. There are additional costs when you buy the licenses, and they force the customers to pay for them. Overall, enterprise pricing should be more transparent. It's a yearly license.
