What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Amazon AWS is a scalable solution. It was one of the important topics of discussion in our evaluation.
How are customer service and support?
Their technical support is good, very friendly, and provides us with a solution.
How was the initial setup?
I think the initial setup is easy, but you have to invest some time and learn how to do it before setting it up for the first time. It's pretty easy for a new user to set up.
What other advice do I have?
I would tell potential users to create a plan. It's very important to have a plan, especially if it's your first time. This is because different solutions and levels are charged separately with separate bills.
On a scale from one to ten, I would give Amazon AWS a nine.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Amazon Web Services (AWS)

For how long have I used the solution?
I don't use it in my current organization. I used to use it in my earlier organization. In fact, I don't really use it, however, we used to consult on it. I've been a consultant for about a year or so.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price of the solution can get expensive. They could work to lower it for their clients.
Those that use the licensing do need to pay a fee. It can be paid on a yearly or monthly basis.

Senior Software Engineer at consol gulf
Stable and easy to set up but can be a bit expensive
Pros and Cons
- "The product is reliable and quite stable."
- "I want to use AWS as a full solution for my website - for domain and website hosting, and everything in between - however, I was not able to find everything together."
What is our primary use case?
I primarily used the solution more for a POC. The solution was primarily used for data lakes. However, my use case is more focused on getting the IDs up and running.
What is most valuable?
The dashboard is very good.
The solution in general is user-friendly and easy to navigate.
The product as a whole is very intuitive.
The initial setup was quite easy.
The product is reliable and quite stable.
The solution is fine for static hosting.
What needs improvement?
I cannot recall coming across any issues or any missing features.
There are some other issues I see, but that was more on the security side, not on EC2. That's more of a technical thing. I was not able to get it up and running, however, that was a different issue altogether. It was more due to my understanding of the solution.
I want to use AWS as a full solution for my website - for domain and website hosting, and everything in between - however, I was not able to find everything together. They should work to make it an easy all-in-one end-to-end solution.
The product is a bit costly.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution a bit, however, my specific experience is not up to date. My usage is not on the production side.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is very good. There are no bugs or glitches and it doesn't crash or freeze. The performance is good and overall, the entire solution is reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We haven't attempted to scale the solution yet, as we are still at the POC phase. However, ultimately, that is the plan and it is my understanding that it will scale well.
How are customer service and technical support?
We've yet to contact technical support. I can't speak to how helpful or responsive they would be.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup, in the end, was pretty straightforward.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution can get to be expensive.
What other advice do I have?
We are using different services. We are using Alexa, for example, and static hosting. We do have a corporate account, however, we're not using a lot of services on it.
I'm not sure which version of the solution we are using.
We don't have a dedicated private cloud and therefore use a public cloud.
I'd recommend the solution to others. Overall, we enjoy using it.
I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

I would recommend it to any customer using another solution. I would offer it as an alternative to another similar solution like IBM, Google and Azure.

COO - Chief Operating Officer
The elastic feature allows us to not worry about rising or declining demand.
What is most valuable?
Our system is conceptually very simple. We organized the network to grow. The most valuable resource is the elastic feature which allows us to not worry about rising or declining demand.
How has it helped my organization?
We never assumed we would implement our system outside the cloud. AWS has several features available that we still have to try. The improvement is going to be done step by step, including each feature, one at a time.
What needs improvement?
AWS is in the right measure for now.
However, I was a bit disappointed with the AWS representative for Brazil. I invited him to talk about some strategic agreement to improve the cloud environment in my other work.
I was thinking of taking AWS to the top of the rankings in the Masters program. He dismissed the invitation and told me that AWS was undergoing restructuring and maybe he could talk to me sometime in the future. This happened almost a year ago.
For how long have I used the solution?
Amazon and KickSIM made an agreement, so the startup could use the AWS cloud for a year, up to 3/2015. After that, KickSIM also experienced use of three additional cloud environments and then came back to AWS in January, 2017.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We did not encounter any issues with stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We did not encounter any issues with scalability.
How are customer service and technical support?
All our needs were met by researching the documentation. AWS offers stable resources and abundant documentation. There is no reason to use the technical support frequently.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We did not switch yet. We maintain some minor operations on two other clouds.
How was the initial setup?
The setup was straightforward and the infrastructure is running well.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The way AWS assigns prices is fully understandable and very transparent. Users are free to choose exactly what they need. They receive accordingly and there is no pain at devolution. It is all done by themselves.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We did not evaluate any alternative solutions.
What other advice do I have?
Using this product has encouraged me to broaden my knowledge of the products offered by AWS.

Site Reliability Engineer at a tech services company with 1,001-5,000 employees
Its features are a great complement to the basic infrastructure of any company
Pros and Cons
- "I like ETL, the EC2 platform, and Route 53. These features are a great complement to the basic infrastructure of any company. The AWS platform has many features, but the fundamental cloud infrastructure is the most important."
- "A person with no AWS experience might find it overwhelming at first."
What is our primary use case?
I'm currently using AWS to create two environments with the EC2 instance. I have one environment for staging and developing processes and another environment for production.
What is most valuable?
I like ETL, the EC2 platform, and Route 53. These features are a great complement to the basic infrastructure of any company. The AWS platform has many features, but the fundamental cloud infrastructure is the most important.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used AWS for around two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
AWS is reliable. I've seen around 10 issues in the whole time I've been using it, so I think that is highly stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
AWS is a cloud platform, so it's inherently scalable.
How are customer service and support?
The cloud platform can have problems, but AWS has a good SLA. If a region has problems, Amazon will fix the issue, so the customer never knows.
How was the initial setup?
Deploying AWS is complex in the beginning. It becomes more intuitive once you have a solid grasp of the fundamentals. However, a person with no AWS experience might find it overwhelming at first. Total deployment took around two weeks.
What other advice do I have?
I rate AWS nine out of 10. It's a complete solution. If Amazon added any more features, that would just be a pleasant surprise for me because AWS perfectly fits the needs of my current job.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
