Easy solution if implemented on the cloud
Pros and Cons
  • "The monitoring device enables you to see the network health."
  • "Concern when there are a number of concurrent users."

What is our primary use case?

With Meraki Wireless Solutions of Cisco Wireless, I can manage them from the cloud. We are a partner of Cisco.

What is most valuable?

Being able to manage in the cloud is a valuable feature. The other valuable feature is the monitoring device, you can see the network health.

What needs improvement?

I have some problems when I want to connect some users when there are a lot of users and they disconnect.

Another pain point is that we have to manually do the frequency settings, especially the power of the access points.

Cisco Meraki is quite stable.

Provides a high level of security and stability for teleconferencing
Pros and Cons
  • "Meraki is a decent solution for a small company, and we use it in a pretty typical way. We need Teams and Zoom to work, and we need a high level of security because we want our business to remain confidential."

What is our primary use case?

We have a small, growing company, and they're looking for a wireless capability to do typical office stuff, except that now, we're doing a lot more meetings on Teams and Zoom. We often have a setup where a few people in a conference room connect with remote workers on a Teams meeting. We've had some Teams and Zoom calls interrupted due to problems with the wireless and the wide-area network, as well as some other standard internet issues. Meraki is a decent solution for a small company, and we use it in a pretty typical way. We need Teams and Zoom to work, and we need a high level of security because we want our business to remain confidential.

For how long have I used the solution?

My company has been using Meraki Wireless for several years, but I've only been involved for a year and a half.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't interacted with technical support. I hire third-party technical staff, and they deal with all the actual support.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Cisco Meraki Wireless eight out of 10. My suggestion to anyone looking to implement this kind of solution is to use a smart consultant. I use technical consultants to handle things like picking out a solution. So I have one guy who says Ubiquiti would be a great platform, and the other says they think Meraki is the best platform.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    On-premises

    Pros and Cons

It is easy to operate and easy to manage.

    What needs improvement?

When the license expires, access to the Cisco cloud stops immediately. They should introduce a grace period of 60 days after license expiry because as it is now, it automatically goes down and there is no grace period.

There should be better integration with other products.

What other advice do I have?

In summary, this is a good product and I recommend it.

I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.

    • "Its ease of use and flexibility are most valuable. It is cloud-based software."
    • "Its price should be reduced."

What is our primary use case?

We are using it at the hospitals for transmission for hardware switches. We are connected with various IoT devices.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have more than 40 users at the moment, but the number is growing.

How are customer service and technical support?

Their support is extremely good. They generally dispatch the hardware in four hours. They give us a dispatch notice just after four hours of lodging a complaint. Their engineer does the on-site visit within 24 hours.
