I like how the solution deploys the policies and makes them customizable
I like how Intune deploys the policies and makes them customizable. You can deploy it through Intune and forget about it. You can connect Defender for Endpoint to Intune and assign the client to start porting detections and alerts, creating a little security operations center. The integration is easy but tricky for someone who doesn't know how to use it. Once you learn to use it, it's a powerful tool that can condense most of your administrative tasks into one place Integration with Microsoft 365 and security is critical if you have a Microsoft infrastructure. You want all the tools to be connected and exchanging data so that when you make a change or deploy something, you can make an informed decision and log the errors. You can avoid having different types of configurations and strengthen your policies. We've been using what they call conditional access in which we set up policies and apply them based on certain conditions and attributes. For example, you can apply some policies to company-owned devices and a different set of policies to devices for personal use.

Easily implement, monitor, and manage remote users
We usually give the developer feedback through our account manager and also the technical person that we reach out to once in a while and most of the time, they take the feedback and within a couple of months, they implement and roll out an audit. The one feature that I believe needs improvement is the software patching. NinjaOne still lacks the ability to patch third-party software that is not already added to its list of managed applications. For those applications, we have to deploy Chocolatey, which is another third-party application that we use to patch third-party software not listed on NinjaOne's portal. The NinjaOne distribution server is highly dependent on an active directory. So for a cloud-only environment like ours, it's impossible to implement because we don't have a long-range server.

Enhances user productivity and offers conditional-based authentication with micro VPN channels for internal applications
There are multiple features. It depends on the customer's use case, but for customers using VMware, we've seen that conditional-based authentication establishing a micro VPN channel to internal applications is most valuable. They know these are the only devices accessing their internal applications, and no outside devices can access any applications. That's the overall security posture organizations are looking for, and that's what we're delivering right now. Moreover, the integration capability of Workspace ONE enhances the IT infrastructure. Good integrations are available. There are a few limitations, but both Citrix and VMware are working on enhancements. But the integrations are pretty much similar.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We already use a lot of Microsoft products in our company, and therefore, it made sense to also use this product."
"The solution appears to be stable and scalable."
"Intune can wipe devices. For example, if a disgruntled employee wants to leak the data on their company phone, Intune can terminate their access and wipe the entire device with a click."
"The policy and compliance monitoring of devices and the software deployment are most valuable."
"Internet-based access with security is what I have found to be most valuable. It is also a stable and scalable solution."
"The security-related tools are excellent; these features allow us to secure devices, lock them down, and ensure compliance."
"The navigation, the keys, and the settings are easy to find. It is easy to understand."
"The initial setup is not overly complex or difficult."
"The most valuable feature we have found currently is probably patch management."
"It just works as advertised and serves the purpose for which we got it."
"The tool's most valuable feature is third-party application updates."
"It helps us to be able to have visibility into the overall performance of the servers, laptops, and desktops that we are managing currently."
"The most relevant feature is the monitoring, which provides built-in tools for sending commands."
"NinjaOne's best feature is its monitoring."
"The most important aspect of this tool is the security it provides our company."
"Good at managing updates and for remote support."
"We used to have a system before, Mac OS Open Directory server and this open directory became obsolete because Apple decided to stop the enterprise market, so there was no other alternative for us to use. We chose this to replace the open directory and we found that it has many more features than the previous solution. We totally rely on it right now to manage all the devices on campus."
"The most valuable feature is the interface with SCAP, which is the Security Content Automation Protocol."
"The solution's Self-Service feature is valuable because it gives a single managed application that users can download and use based on their preferences and productivity."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the multi-platform support."
"I would rate the stability as eight out of ten."
"When we publish the applications, getting the credentials to log in and keep the application up or running is easy."
"It was easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is single sign-on."

Cons

"Intune doesn't provide much control over Windows servers. It's something we struggle with."
"No option to do end-to-en macOS management. Slow implementation of policies."
"Intune should be much more granular in terms of supporting more Android cellular devices."
"Once it's configured it is unobtrusive, but it does take some hands-on to configure and deploy it properly."
"It would be great if Intune offered better data protection controls for BYOD Windows PCs."
"There are items that require improvements. One is the controls from iOS."
"An area for improvement is the absence of seamless integration, particularly with external dashboards."
"Intune's third-party patch management could be better. It should be easier for the average system admin to keep non-Microsoft applications updated."
"The NinjaOne distribution server is highly dependent on an active directory."
"I want NinjaOne to improve the reports."
"NinjaOne's dashboard could be easier to use."
"The solution could improve by optimizing the internet connection being used."
"Lacks sufficient integrations with other PSAs."
"The remote connectivity could be better. It works most of the time, but sometimes, there are issues."
"NinjaOne's reporting module is cumbersome."
"The graphical user interface could be improved."
"We'd like to see a better connection to Microsoft Azure and a better connection with Check Point."
"The SaaS environment is not very responsive at times, so the performance can be improved in that regard."
"We're unhappy with the quality of support we get for it. We're unhappy with how upgrades occur, so we are migrating away from it. We have an on-premise AirWatch solution and for us to do upgrades we have to call AirWatch to be able to perform the upgrades. They're busy, and scheduling it is not timely enough for us."
"One of the things that I want them to improve on, if possible, is the management of Mac devices, MacBook Pro, for example. They do it, but they have scope for improvement, in my opinion. It's not that it's that bad, it just a small need."
"The product's stability for certain instances needs improvement."
"The database gets corrupted when used in the cluster. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."
"I'd like to see expanded device support, particularly for IoT things like SCADA devices."
"They do have a good integration, but there is a long way to go as far as integration is concerned. They need to integrate with the cloud solutions a little bit more. We are looking for Azure integration."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Microsoft Intune is expensive."
"If you're ever going to buy an Office 365 environment, then pricing is reasonable given all that it does, but if you're not, then you might find the pricing expensive."
"No one can compete with Microsoft when it comes to price, and the features it is offering."
"The price could be better."
"We don't get Intune as a separate module. Most of the time, we use it within an enterprise agreement like E3 or E5. Those licenses are at a good price, but what is annoying is that every single year they go higher."
"Microsoft's licensing is more flexible and adaptive than its competitors."
"While Microsoft Intune boasts a wide range of features, its user-friendliness and bundled licensing cost are key considerations for me."
"Microsoft Intune is moderately priced. There is a monthly license required to use the solution and it is approximately eight dollars per month."
"NinjaRMM uses a subscription model."
"NinjaOne's price is fine since my workplace is an educational institution, so we get the product at a really good price considering that we do not pay taxes, making the prices very fair and worth the product."
"The product's pricing depends on the number of PCs or devices."
"I rate the solution’s pricing a five out of ten, where one is the lowest and ten is the most expensive."
"Its pricing is great."
"It roughly costs $400 a month. It provides a good value because of the number of tools that you get in the solution. I would rate it a four out of five in terms of pricing. There are no additional costs other than the standard licensing fees."
"The pricing is reasonable and cheaper than ConnectWise."
"We currently pay $1.20 per device on a monthly basis."
"The solution runs at roughly around $36/user for a year."
"The solution is about $45 per device for a 12 month subscription. The price is standard across the world."
"VMware Workspace ONE licensing price is good with their supportability. The price of VMware Workspace ONE is reasonable. We are using an enterprise license."
"My guess is that its licensing was yearly. There was probably no fee in addition to the standard licensing fee."
"In some cases, a customer may feel the solution is expensive."
"For big users, it's around $500."
"VMware Workspace ONE has a yearly license. You have to buy the license for one year at a time."
"The solution can be costly when the customer is dealing with multiple platforms. If a customer is only dealing with iOS, Windows, and Android then Intune is the better choice because there are free licenses."
