A user-friendly UI, comprehensive visibility, and a seamless experience
We package Win32 applications and import existing packages using solutions like SCCM or third-party tools. While Intune doesn't currently offer third-party application patching, we rely on third-party solutions for that functionality. A new Intune feature - Enterprise App management allows to deploy Microsoft and Third party apps and keep them up to date but it incurs additional licensing costs. Ideally, this feature should be included in the base license. Similarly, the privilege endpoint management feature also requires additional licensing. Intune would benefit from offering some core features at no extra cost. The most valuable improvement, in my experience, would be the ability to identify inactive devices through reports. Customizable reporting capabilities within Intune would simplify overall management and allow us to track device activity and inactivity more effectively.

Patch and upgrade many devices simultaneously in a DevSecOps pipeline which is effective but demanding on resources
The product has several places where there is room for improvement. Although it is on the cloud, sometimes the performance is slower than it should be. One of the reasons could be that it is tightly integrated and tight coupled with the rest of the modules and all of them have to be in sync. This syncing takes time and resources. When I go to our Desktop Central console, sometimes it runs slowly. So performance is one place where it could have room for improvement. In terms of patching, which is a major benefit of the package, patch management can work even better as well. The vulnerabilities are obvious. Every day we get reports on a lot of new vulnerabilities. It is clear that ManageEngine is doing the patching and the package is easily deployed once they are developed and available. The incident management, the root cause, the planning of the resolution, the service management — all these things are known and available. The team at ManageEngine is good at that. But they do not provide reports to user admins on the development and delivery which is information they already have and admins could use. Once the patch is added to the repository the defense against vulnerabilities improves. But the information about developments and vulnerabilities would be good to have and could be shared more candidly.

Easy to manage, cheaper cost and efficient for security needs
Sophos is very simple and direct to the point. I cannot recall any challenges with the deployment process. Deployment time: For a single device, it only takes two to three minutes, it also depends on the connectivity. But with a reliable connection, it takes only two to three minutes to install the software. Once installed, as long as there is an internet connection, the device can be discovered in our cloud deployment. Our network support team works on Sophos. I believe we have integrated it into our Active Directory. Deployment model: The subscription itself, Sophos Central, is already cloud-based. It's software as a service, directly from Sophos.

Pros

"One of the most valuable aspects of Microsoft Intune is its seamless integration with Azure Active Directory, offering capabilities akin to Group Policy Objects."
"At the moment, Autopilot is the most valuable feature."
"Microsoft Intune has helped us by improving our security posture, leading to fewer security problems, and helping us understand where we have issues."
"The Microsoft Windows Autopilot and Defender policies are the most valuable features of this solution."
"It is user-friendly, and the performance is also good. It is a convenient product"
"Intune makes our organization more secure and flexible. We can onboard new employees faster and more securely. We are a governmental organization with strict regulations, and Intune helps us comply with those requirements."
"The management control feature is the most valuable."
"It's very informative when there is an error. It allows us to backtrace where the error is and resolve that ourselves. It's a bit of a Swiss Army penknife. We find that it fixes most issues."
"We use the product to know about our assets and manage remote support."
"Since deploying Desktop Central our endpoints are all updated. We use configuration management to deploy shortcuts to our users' desktops with ease. Also, we use configuration management to map logical hard drives to our users. Our users are very happy with how much ease IT can solve their problems."
"The most valuable feature of ManageEngine Endpoint Central is the central management console. Additionally, inventory tracking is helpful for knowing where our assets are."
"Patch management features are an important feature."
"The stability is great."
"The solution is definitely scalable."
"The solution's stability is better than the other solutions in the market."
"ManageEngine Desktop Central is stable."
"We can easily manage the devices because it's already in the cloud. For example, if any phone that belongs to the company is lost, we can easily erase the data."
"The utmost importance lies in mobile security and its performance."
"The most valuable feature is the mobile device management capability. You can easily manage all of your mobile devices."
"I like the level of interaction that the product offers with the other products in our company's environment."
"In terms of valuable features, we liked the lock feature, the roll-out white feature, and the find feature. I think that Sophos had a GPS locator, so you could figure out where the phone was from a GPS location."
"The solution is quite user-friendly."
"Sophos Mobile is efficient in threat detection."
"The initial setup process is straightforward and fast."

Cons

"The reporting dashboard is really limited."
"One big problem with Microsoft is that they're changing the names of the products quite often, or they're quite consistently doing so. Intune is now Endpoint administration. Constantly switching the user interface or the administrative interface makes it quite hard to keep pace. If you are on a two-week holiday and you come back and look at the same screen you have looked at for the last couple of months, it looks different, which is annoying. Changing things around all the time doesn't make it easy."
"Customer service used to be better. In the last couple of years, support has not been very good, even with Premier and Premium support. It's been very hit-or-miss."
"Regarding mobile devices, Intune is good, but there are other services that I would say are ahead of Intune from an administration and reporting point of view."
"It just doesn't handle software updates well at all by itself. You need to be a scripting wizard to make those happen properly, or you use third-party tools. The Windows feature updates are very difficult to implement. I would like to see a proprietary built-in remote control tool. I know that they have Team Viewer integrated, but it is not seamless. It would be nice if they had a seamless remote desktop capability directly from the Intune console."
"I would like to see Intune improve its handling of hybrid domain joins. We continue to experience issues with machines losing their hybrid domain join status."
"I'm still playing around with it and haven't had any issues with the product yet, but support can definitely be improved."
"We need the capabilities of the Cloud Management Gateway (CMG) to be enhanced through Intune instead of Azure."
"The support could be faster."
"The team I've currently got is not using it particularly well, due to the fact that they don't know how to use it particularly well. They've not done any training and so on."
"The solution should be better at integrating with other solutions."
"Compared to the solution we use to manage our Mac products, this solution lacks the ability to create dynamic groups. We would like the ability, for example, for machines which have been upgraded to form part of a grouping based on this upgrade."
"The team should work on improving the stability, particularly with massive patches deployment, clients are not 100% getting patches and the information provided by the system does not help; more detailed report would be very useful."
"I would like to see them come out with a SaaS version of the product in the future."
"The OS deployment could be better."
"I would like to have the option to install the agent remotely."
"The setup should be made easier."
"The features of Sophos Mobile could improve. The way the system works together could be better. Additionally, the integration with other Sophos products could improve."
"They continue to work on integration with mobile device management and mobile security. They are improving the protection but I think that the capabilities still need to be enhanced."
"The application might have issues with other software."
"There's a need for better protection against hackers trying to access key accounts such as bank accounts."
"To manage the Apple devices is not that straightforward there are a lot of features the other third parties solutions are offering which Sophos Mobile is not."
"For Sophos Mobile, it is difficult to get good support."
"The area for improvement in Sophos Mobile is troubleshooting."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing for Intune and the competitor products are all within the same range, there is no true advantage when it comes to cost."
"Pricing can be improved."
"The price is reasonable, but they should lower it a bit to make it more competitive. It's cheaper than AirWatch and other products, but I still feel like Microsoft can make a base version or with Exchange online or a la carte only Intune version which will be useful. A customer who doesn't want to go full-fledged E3 or E5 can take out or consume an Intune solution only for their purpose, and we want to target that customer."
"I would rate the price a four out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"I am not that aware of the pricing, but as compared to other MDM solutions, Microsoft is providing a lot of things at the organizational level. So, it is quite reasonable as compared to other MDM solutions."
"The pricing for Microsoft Intune is reasonable. Our clients are satisfied."
"Its price is quite okay. I wish they provide certain additional features with the same license."
"Intune's pricing is competitive. For example, the license of Blackberry's Enterprise Mobility Suite was costly, but Intune is affordable. It is included as an additional feature when you buy security enhancements for your organization. For example, let's say I have fifty users in my organization and all of them are using Microsoft cloud services, like Teams, Office 365, and OneDrive."
"The product is not expensive."
"The initial purchase was around $6,000 or $7,000. We most probably are not on an annual subscription. We bought it, and then we pay for the maintenance. I'm not 100% sure how that's working out."
"There are multiple flavors of the app. They have a distributed version for enterprises. It depends on your size. They price it on a per machine basis. 250 or 500 is probably their least amount."
"Choose wisely between the Professional and Enterprise editions, based on your needs."
"I have been using the free version and am in the stage where I have to decide if I will proceed with the paid license, or instead choose another product."
"The pricing of the product is not bad compared to the other similar solutions in the market."
"The price could be cheaper."
"Could provide more services on the standard license"
"Sophos Mobile is inexpensive."
"My company needs to make yearly payments for the licensing charges attached to the product."
"The licensing is paid on a yearly basis."
"It is a cost-effective solution."
"Apple is starting to do beta testing with their own solutions and for much cheaper than Sophos Mobile's price."
"The product is not suitable for smaller companies because its price is high."
"The licensing fees are paid based on a one-year or two-year subscription."
