Manager of Data Center at a insurance company with 51-200 employees
Very Good for HD Video conferencing
What is most valuable?
1. With WebEx, the presenter can show the audience what is on his screen. Files are shared in real time.
2. Audience interactive participation is encouraged and controlled.
3. It identifies who is speaking.
4. It is secure - supports SSL encryption.
What needs improvement?
1. Video conferencing is not as fast as expected.
2. I don’t think WebEx can support more than 1000 participants.WebEx is one of the leading online conference tools. It is a collaborative tool that combines video, data and voice. It bridges the gap between physical locations. We have multiple branches and we have found that bringing people together becomes almost impossible. Thiat is the major reason why we decided to use WebEx.
WebEx supports both computers and mobile phones. This means both computer (PCs, tablets, Macs) users and mobile phone users can easily participate in the conference. It also has free applications for ipad and iPhones. One thing we enjoyed most was the toll-free facility. You can easily share the desktop screen or files. Presenters can show his audience what is on his screen. Changing of conference host is quite easy.
What other advice do I have?
WebEx is relatively cheap and cost effective. With $49 per month, 25 people can conveniently enjoy the services. This price cannot be compared to the cost of bringing 25 people together in a physical location

What is our primary use case?
We use Webex for all of our internal meetings.
What is most valuable?

The stream is very smooth
Pros and Cons
- "The stream is very smooth. That's what I like about Webex. Other video conference solutions like Zoom sometimes freeze and get buggy, but Webex doesn't."
- "Webex's Bluetooth functionality could be better. For example, I use Webex on my Android mobile phone and connect with Bluetooth. It connects, but I cannot speak through the Bluetooth microphone and earphones with Webex. It's always disabled. I don't know why."
What is our primary use case?
I use Webex for conference calls with buyers and overseas calls.
What is most valuable?
The stream is very smooth. That's what I like about Webex. Other video conference solutions like Zoom sometimes freeze and get buggy, but Webex doesn't.
What needs improvement?
Webex's Bluetooth functionality could be better. For example, I use Webex on my Android mobile phone and connect with Bluetooth. It connects, but I cannot speak through the Bluetooth microphone and earphones with Webex. It's always disabled. I don't know why. Also, if I want to pause my screen or mute my microphone, I have to go through several menus. I want easy access to that option.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used Webex for around eight or nine years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Webex is stable.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
It's hard to compare it to Zoom, but I like Webex a little better.
How was the initial setup?
Webex is easy to use. Everything is pre-installed on my work computer by an IT guy in this company. He installs it by himself.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I believe we pay for an annual subscription to Webex.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Webex eight out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

It has a good interface and solid video quality
Pros and Cons
- "I like how Webex lets you zoom in and out on the presenter's screen. It's silly, but all the solutions have the same features, and I think WebEx is the only one that allows zoom."
- "Webex could add some integration with Microsoft Office or G-Suite."
What is our primary use case?
I mostly use Webex for meetings with our clients and sometimes for interviews.
What is most valuable?
I don't have deep experience with Webex, but it has a good interface and excellent video quality. I like how Webex lets you zoom in and out on the presenter's screen. It's silly, but all the solutions have the same features, and I think WebEx is the only one that allows zoom.
What needs improvement?
Webex could add some integration with Microsoft Office or G-Suite.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Webex is stable and scalable.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We use Teams and Zoom. The official solution at my company is Microsoft Teams, but many of our clients have Cisco WebEx in their environment, so we need to use it.
How was the initial setup?
The Webex setup is basically automatic. You download it, and the installer does the rest. It takes only a few minutes.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Some companies we do business with have the paid version of Webex, and we use it to connect to them, but we just use the free version.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Webex 10 out of 10.

Inbound Salesperson at a tech services company with 5,001-10,000 employees
Contains popular features, useful screen share, and simple installation
Pros and Cons
- "I have found a lot of virtual meeting solutions seem the same. Some might work a little bit better, it is difficult to pinpoint a particular functionality that's widely different, they all have screen sharing and video in-voice."
- "I do not like emojis."
What is our primary use case?
I am using Webex mainly to speak to my manager.
What is most valuable?
I have found a lot of virtual meeting solutions seem the same. Some might work a little bit better, it is difficult to pinpoint a particular functionality that's widely different, they all have screen sharing and video in-voice.
What needs improvement?
I do not like emojis.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Webex for a while, within the past 12 months.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have approximately 1,000 employees in Canada that could have used Webex at one time or another.
How are customer service and support?
I have not used technical support.
How was the initial setup?
The setup is straightforward in most cases.
What other advice do I have?
Virtual meeting solutions are not perfect while working remotely. The quality of the service depends on many factors, such as the connection I am using or the servers. Occasionally it's not always clear or perfect. It's not Webex in particular or this solution causing the issue.
I rate Webex an eight out of ten.
I would give most of the virtual meetings solutions, such as Zoom, or Google Meets which I use for my kids. All those platforms are similar, none of them are perfect.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Reliable, with good performance, but a bit technical to set up
Pros and Cons
- "Doing presentations on the solution is very good. There isn't much they could do to improve this aspect. It's excellent."
- "The initial implementation was a bit difficult. If they could simplify that aspect of the solution, it would be helpful for future users."
What is our primary use case?
We don't use it in any technical way; we mostly just use it for presentations and things of that sort.
What is most valuable?
The solution is consistent. The performance especially is quite consistent in comparison to other applications.
Doing presentations on the solution is very good. There isn't much they could do to improve this aspect. It's excellent.
What needs improvement?
For what we use it for, I can't think of anything the solution is lacking.
The initial implementation was a bit difficult. If they could simplify that aspect of the solution, it would be helpful for future users.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've been using the solution for a long time. It's been about five or six years now.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is very stable. We have no complaints. I haven't had to deal with bugs or glitches. There haven't been crashes. It doesn't freeze. I consider it to be a reliable service.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
If a company needs to scale, it should be able to easily with this solution. We haven't run into any issue on our end. It's been good. However, we only really have five users on the solution. We do plan to increase usage to up to ten users.
How are customer service and technical support?
I haven't really had to contact technical support. In very rare instances do we contact them at all, so I can't speak to the quality of service in any meaningful way, unfortunately.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We're also beginning to use Microsoft Teams. We use them as well due to the fact that their pricing is a bit better.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was a little bit complex. It wasn't exactly straightforward.
What other advice do I have?
We're just a WebEx customer. We don't have any affiliations or special relationships with the company.
The pricing is a little bit high for our company. Due to the cost, we've started working more with Microsoft Teams.
Overall, I'd rate the solution seven out of ten. The setup is a bit technical, otherwise, I would rate it higher. Also, there are other competitors coming to the market which may be a bit easier to use.
I would still recommend it to others though. It's a good product. It's very solid and reliable.

Pre Sales Engineer at a tech services company with 51-200 employees
More stable than most, but too pricey for small businesses and support is subpar
Pros and Cons
- "What I value most about Webex is its stability compared to other solutions."
- "Webex support is not good. When we try to open a ticket, it takes approximately 24 hours. With Microsoft, we get support within two or three hours."
What is our primary use case?
We use Webex for our critical or government customers, and when we're dealing with complex network infrastructure.
What is most valuable?
What I value most about Webex is its stability compared to other solutions. Webex comes from Cisco, which is a good brand. The name itself is a selling point.
What needs improvement?
They have a feature that is amazing but it's not implemented properly. It's called Profile Insight and it's similar to LinkedIn. Before you join a meeting, you can see the background of the person. But the problem is the implementation. There is so much missing information. This could be integrated with LinkedIn or something so it can produce more information about the person you're meeting with. Also, they've been announcing that they will add AI translation since 2019, but we're still not seeing that upgrade.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been working with Webex for more than five years.
How are customer service and support?
Webex support is not good and I can really only give them one star for support. Cisco is now transitioning from hardware-based infrastructure to software. So when you are migrating, you see the videos, user manual, configuration guidelines, etc. and it all looks simple, but when we start implementing, we face some integration issues. And when we try to open a ticket, it takes approximately 24 hours. With Microsoft, we get support within two or three hours. Zoom also has very good support. And unfortunately, they are selling the package of support separately, so we can't know what level of support we will get. But that's including with the license itself. So in this case, since they are similar to Microsoft, Zoom, Slack, and others, they should have the same support services.
How was the initial setup?
There is some confusion for our customers who use Webex for the first time. Webex has two software products that are similar: Webex Teams and Webex Meetings. Webex Teams comes with the default license even if you didn't purchase it. If you have a Webex Meetings license, you get both. When they are installing Webex Teams for the first time, they are unable to join the meeting. When they install and they search on Google for "Webex Meetings installation," the first download option on the Webex website is Webex Teams. To join a meeting as a new user, you have to install Webex Meetings not Webex Teams.
We constantly deal with this confusion. It costs us time especially when we're dealing with a critical client who working from a remote site. So they install the first Webex and it does not work. Then they have to install the other one. So sometimes we have to send the link directly to him. So we only experience this kind of confusion with Webex, not in other vendors I believe.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Price is the one area where Webex needs to improve relative to its competitors. It's difficult to sell to small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) because of the license price. It's not very competitive with a product like Microsoft Teams because that is bundled with Microsoft 365, so the price will be lower. With SMBs, we face an issue when we try to sell Webex as a stand-alone product. It's easier to sell if it is packaged with Cisco infrastructure, IP phones, CallManager, and everything else. So they need to consider the needs of SMBs in their pricing.
What other advice do I have?
I give Webex a six out of 10, which I think is fair. They offer flexibility with every vendor, but there are issues with support and integration. Then there is the issue of price, which isn't affordable for SMBs.

Messaging, meeting, and delivery calling are now easier from the cloud, but the product is not very user-friendly
What is most valuable?
Improved collaboration.
How has it helped my organization?
Cisco Spark has changed the concept of team messaging and communication in a very dramatic way. Messaging, meeting, and delivery calling are now easy from the cloud. This app also ensures security of the users by providing an encrypted and feasible chance for enterprise-wide engagement. The part I like best is that I can communicate with team members easily and also can have private chats outside the main room. Users can share content in a meeting, when in a call, or when messaging anyone, and the app can be accessed on smart phones, browsers, and dedicated downloads on Windows or Mac desktops.
What needs improvement?
Though it is a nice app to work with, it has downsides, too. It is not very user-friendly. Sometimes users cannot use voice recognition to send a message. Sometimes messages will not send, icons sometimes will not load, and those things disappoint a user. They should work on solving these issues as soon as possible.
For how long have I used the solution?
One year.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
No issues.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
No issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
No issues.
How are customer service and technical support?
Customer Service:
Good.
Technical Support:Awesome.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
No.

You outlined perfectly some pros and cons that WebEx has. I would like to add features that helped me when using WebEx at my workplace.
Since it is software as a service, the user only needs to subscribe to the service and have Internet access and he is ready to go. With WebEx, no download is necessary, and the audience does not need to be a subscriber to watch and listen. One of the distinct pro of WebEx is that it successfully combines the online viewing portion with the ability to teleconference easily and be connected to the webinar via the access code. This lets the presenters know who is actually there during the presentation, without need for a time consuming roll call.
More features from WebEx include the ability to easily share documents, presentations, or applications. With a simple click, the user can allow someone else on the other side of the world the opportunity to present, either with their computer, or by taking remote control of his computer. Another pro of web conferencing with WebEx is the ability to access a recording of the meeting. Also, WebEx is fully scalable.
